League 1

We don’t have a prayer of bouncing straight back up under these clowns. League 1 in two years is a realistically where we will end up.

don’t get this love in for Selles, he has performed under two under achieving managers and doesn’t have a clue tactically. Sack the cunt, sack the board, get rid of half the crock of shit we wasted good money on this season and rebuild.

Are we paying the price (successive relegation) to see the differences amongst premier league manager, championship manager (Luton) and league 2 manager (as we are now worse than Grimsby), though they are holding the same allegedly premier league players, and how important a good/average manager is to a team?

Not league one but I reckon we’ll be like someone floating in the middle of the atlantic with no hope of rescue in the championship. doing an “ipswich” or “birmingham” where you consistently stay in that league doing nothing.

it’ll be like the 90s supporting saints just staying up… but in the championship. the literal definition of a meaningless football club existence.

Selles was coaching the players first half of the season, ralph took the more senior proper manager role. People were loving it when players pushed him towards the fans at Chelsea, but I couldn’t help but think “you twats did the same thing with Jones”. they also made the same comments about Jones picking up the team morale. you don’t want your manager to be liked you want him to be respected. this guy is just like our signings - has good potential according to some random other people, but premier league worthy? No.

Protests need to be made to get this board out, we need to hire a proper manager with experience at this level and move on.

We'll have a budget to mount a promotion push the problem is we don't have the correct people behind the scenes. I can imagine they think it'll be easy with shite like Lyanco, A. Armstrong, Diallo and Perraud, Bednarek, Aribo continuing to stink up the place.

I’d be surprised if any/many of those leave. Diallo and Bednarek might find suitors but wages and prices are going to be a problem if we go down. It’s a bit of a myth that going down is a chance to completely reset personnel. Mentality changes should be the focus.

How do you get the idea we will 'have a budget'?  We have spent £130m on players since the start of the Summer window.  Add to that all of the wages of them and our bloated squad.

Relegation will mean the club will lose around 80% of it revenue overnight.

But you think there will be a budget to mount a promotion push, lol!

The sales of JWP, Lavia and KWP plus the parachute payments.

Parachute payments typically give those clubs going down an unfair advantage in that league.

The real issues will begin if we don't bounce back and the parachute payments run out.

People thought Burnley were going to head into financial ruin with relegation. Didn't happen and they're going to bounce back stronger than before because they've had a bigger budget than the rest of the league and had the correct people at the helm to execute a reset.

They do think its easy. On at least a couple of occasions RA has stated the gap isn't that big. That's how/why Jones ended up here

It’s impossible to say how quickly we’ll bounce back. Regardless of what happens, even if we somehow do the impossible and stay up, I suspect that there will be a bit of an overhaul in the summer.

Usually, I’d encourage the board to be ruthless and say ‘you’re going nowhere, you got us into this mess, now you get us out’. However, the squad is so toxic full of mentally weak wasters, I hope we flog the lot.

By all accounts, SR will continue to fund the project even in the event of relegation. It’ll come down to who we sign. I’d like to hope that SR have learned their lesson RE taking risks on 18 year olds.

Whilst being out of their depth in the PL, we do have some players with proven experience at that level, who’ll be one of ‘the better ones’ in the championship, AA, Che being examples.

From a pure footballing perspective, relegation might be a blessing and would probably suit our model better than the PL.

I think some of our fans massively underestimate the challenge we’ll have next year, they seem to think some of our current garbage squad will just suddenly click and tear up the Championship next season, they’re in for a huge shock.

You need to be organised to get out of the Championship, with a consistent way of playing and have everyone playing their part.  Which is how we were in 2011/12.  Can't see us getting into that kind of shape any time soon.  The summer is going to be carnage and if we are stable by the end of next season and don't get relegated to League 1, then we can kick on from there.  I don't see us bouncing straight back.

Burnley didn't have the bloated squad we have accumulated where 4 or 5 players on 60k + per week aren't even able to get on the bench.  We've not got a hope in hell of shifting the likes of Perraud, DCC, Diallo, Djenepo, Aribo, Bazunu, Bednarek, etc as no other club would come close to matching the wages they are getting so they'll be staying exactly where they are and counting their money each week.

Bournemouth had a bloated squad full of players on high wages when they went down such as Lerma on £70k a week and Asmir Begovic on £80k a week. They managed to bounce back within two years.

DCC/Bednarek would probably be very good defenders down at that level. Watford fans seem impressed with Wesley Hoedt ffs.
