St Marco Posted 26 January, 2009 Posted 26 January, 2009 Massive period of games for us in the next 12 days. Tues 27th = Norwich away Sat 31st = Swansea home Tues 3rd Feb = Sheff Utd home Sat 7th Feb = Watford away The Norwich and Watford games are massive games. If we fail to win those 2 games i think we have to honestly say were probably down. Of those 4 games it is hard to say if were win any. Norwich are doing better then they were, Swansea have now just beaten the unbeaten league record and are one of the in form teams, Sheff Utd are unbeaten in i think 10 games having won the last 5. Watford are the same as us and are in poor form, havent won in last 5 games. That game could potentially be gigantic. So my heart says were win 3 of the 4 and get out of the drop zone but i think were draw against Norwich, and Swansea and lose to Sheff Utd and Watford. Which i think will probably have us 6 points or so adrift.

Andy_Porter Posted 26 January, 2009 Posted 26 January, 2009 4 points is probably realistic. With a bit of luck we could probably get 7, the only game I can't see us getting anything from is Sheffield United at home. Swansea are a good side as well, won't be easy. Could really do with a bit of a new manager honeymoon though.
70's Mike Posted 26 January, 2009 Posted 26 January, 2009 6 i hope but would not be surprised if it is less

Stanley is up in arms with Lowe having a holiday let alone getting Wotte married and sending him away for a fortnight.
St Marco Posted 26 January, 2009 Author Posted 26 January, 2009 Is "were" now a shortened version of we will? I always thought it was we'll. Were i think means "a collective" i.e We're in this together
JohnnyFartPants Posted 26 January, 2009 Posted 26 January, 2009 Were i think means "a collective" i.e We're in this together Yes but without the apostrophe it is an entirely different word and meaning.
JohnnyFartPants Posted 26 January, 2009 Posted 26 January, 2009 1 point. I would be really pleased if your life could amount to such.
St Marco Posted 26 January, 2009 Author Posted 26 January, 2009 Yes but without the apostrophe it is an entirely different word and meaning. Thank you for the spelling lesson.
egreog Posted 26 January, 2009 Posted 26 January, 2009 Has to be a big ZERO.........nothing really has changed.......can't the team getting a big lift from Wotte....... in fact can't see them getting a lift from anyone!!
David Strover Posted 26 January, 2009 Posted 26 January, 2009 Are you kidding me? We can't beat our relegation rivals at all so Norwich will win 3-0. Swansea City are just all round a better footballing side than us and will truimph easily 2-0. Sheffield United we might get a point in a 1-1 tie and Watford....well with our recent record against them being so magnificent I can see a 3-1 or 3-0 defeat. We were already down before Wotte was appointed. Just get used to it - the end of this season and next season won't come quite so hard then.
SamKimish Posted 26 January, 2009 Posted 26 January, 2009 A mixed response of heart and head says: Norwich WIN 1-0 Swansea LOSE 2-1 Sheff Utd DRAW 0-0 Watford LOSE 4-1 I can see Southampton collapsing in the Watford game towards the ened of the match, much as our recent form against them suggests should happen.
EastleighSoulBoy Posted 26 January, 2009 Posted 26 January, 2009 Tues 27th = Norwich away L Sat 31st = Swansea home D if we're lucky! Tues 3rd Feb = Sheff Utd home L Sat 7th Feb = Watford away L
um pahars Posted 26 January, 2009 Posted 26 January, 2009 Massive period of games for us in the next 12 days. Tues 27th = Norwich away 1 point Sat 31st = Swansea home 3 points Tues 3rd Feb = Sheff Utd home 1 point Sat 7th Feb = Watford away 1 point 6 points for me. As usual not enough for us to pull clear, but too many for us to be cut adrift. IMHO this will go to the wire.
Mr X Posted 26 January, 2009 Posted 26 January, 2009 We should be looking to get 6 points minimum if we are to keep the dream of survival alive but realistically we will do well to get three
Iowsaintsfan Posted 26 January, 2009 Posted 26 January, 2009 Tues 27th = Norwich away L Sat 31st = Swansea home D if we're lucky! Tues 3rd Feb = Sheff Utd home L Sat 7th Feb = Watford away L Agree with that
Mr X Posted 26 January, 2009 Posted 26 January, 2009 Tues 27th = Norwich away L Sat 31st = Swansea home D if we're lucky! Tues 3rd Feb = Sheff Utd home L Sat 7th Feb = Watford away L If we do get this we will be too far adrift from the pack imo

sidthesquid Posted 26 January, 2009 Posted 26 January, 2009 I actually think 5 points Tues 27th = Norwich away W Sat 31st = Swansea home L Tues 3rd Feb = Sheff Utd home D Sat 7th Feb = Watford away D (I think the two home games & 2 away games are interchangeable but 1pt at home & 4 away)
Fitzhugh Fella Posted 26 January, 2009 Posted 26 January, 2009 Tues 27th = Norwich away L Sat 31st = Swansea home D if we're lucky! Tues 3rd Feb = Sheff Utd home L Sat 7th Feb = Watford away L You optimist Andy.
Arizona Posted 26 January, 2009 Posted 26 January, 2009 4 Think Wotte will surprise everyone and beat either the Blades or Swansea, but lose against Norwich and Watford.
Saintandy666 Posted 26 January, 2009 Posted 26 January, 2009 4 losses and we are finished... Equivlent of 4 draws might keep us just in the relegation zone. Equivilent of 2 wins might just get us out of the relegation zone. Above that further and further out of the ****. I reckon 3/4 points?
rocknrollman no2 Posted 26 January, 2009 Posted 26 January, 2009 Im going to stick my neck out and say Saints will up their game and achieve two points. Two draws will be the best we will get.
saintwarwick Posted 26 January, 2009 Posted 26 January, 2009 I'm going to be pessimistic for a change and go for two wins and two draws = 8 points
Legod Third Coming Posted 26 January, 2009 Posted 26 January, 2009 4 Think Wotte will surprise everyone and beat either the Blades or Swansea, but lose against Norwich and Watford. Quite the reverse. Fancy the away games. Watford are there for the taking. Swansea like Hampshire and the Blades always do us!
lordswoodsaints Posted 26 January, 2009 Posted 26 January, 2009 1 point lose to norwich draw swansea lose sheff lose watford
Dr Who? Posted 26 January, 2009 Posted 26 January, 2009 Right here goes. Tues 27th = Norwich away - Lose Sat 31st = Swansea home - Lose Tues 3rd Feb = Sheff Utd home - Lose Sat 7th Feb = Watford away - Lose We might get a point at Watford but I doubt it!
DaveyR Posted 26 January, 2009 Posted 26 January, 2009 An over optimistic 3!! A shock win in one of those games, a la Barnsley!!
S4INT Posted 26 January, 2009 Posted 26 January, 2009 Are you sure about that. Stanley is up in arms with Lowe having a holiday let alone getting Wotte married and sending him away for a fortnight. ...I lol'd DRAW WIN LOSE DRAW (just made those up at random but = 5 points)
Weston Super Saint Posted 3 February, 2009 Posted 3 February, 2009 3 games down, and only 2 points, and the consensus of opinion is that Watford will kick our ar5es on Saturday
alpine_saint Posted 3 February, 2009 Posted 3 February, 2009 3 games down, and only 2 points, and the consensus of opinion is that Watford will kick our ar5es on Saturday I assume Rasiak cannot play ?
Ponty Posted 3 February, 2009 Posted 3 February, 2009 4 points. Bloody hell. How are we gonna get 2 points against Watford?
Mole Posted 3 February, 2009 Posted 3 February, 2009 Well i predicted 1 point and we've doubled that but it's not going to increase from 2 points. Watford will turn us over and then we're effectively relegated.
NickG Posted 3 February, 2009 Posted 3 February, 2009 I assume Rasiak cannot play ? don't think he can, think its against CCC rules for loan player to play against his club
Micky Posted 3 February, 2009 Posted 3 February, 2009 4 points is probably realistic. Could really do with a bit of a new manager honeymoon though. New manager honeymoons are generally the first 3 game they play - after that it normally all goes downhill from there...!!! HTH
