Whe need a hypnotherapy expert to help get some belief into the heads of this squad of serial losers.

Even if we somehow get a goal, from open play we'll self sabotage to give the game away with a red, a huge gaffe or a penalty.

I know, but it always seems that if a player or a team are on a poor run of form, playing Saints seems to cure it. If we can't find our own remedy team, perhaps we should arrange matches against ourselves.

It’s been that way for as long as I can remember- way back to Ian wright not scoring for Arsenal til he faced us - bagged a hat trick if I remember rightly.

Anyone else really dreading the team selection?…the same old faces, same shite displays.
absolutely no enthusiasm for any of the players picked.
Bournemouth winning away at Arsenal just makes it even more forlorn.
Another dire display awaits from us.
I’m depressed before we even start. 🤷🏻‍♂️

There has to be a distinct way of playing, so the players know what they are doing. I'm guessing Ralph had his playbook, and they were following that, but Ralph constantly tinkered which probably confused the players which affected performance, and ultimately their confidence. Nathan obviously made things worse. Now, when u are buying players, you have to look at what systems they are coming from and see if they fit in. Ultimately, I don't think the players coming in are bad, but if you are getting ex Man City players to play like Luton, then it's not going to work. The way Pep plays is to have visible players available close to the ball. If you are playing a system that stretches play, suited for tall Paul, then players are further away from each other, so the player needs a few extra nanoseconds to see who is available, but that is a skill in itself. The only way Southampton are going to thrive is by picking a system, pick the players then play that every week and add to it over time. Almost like rebooting a computer. It's the same problem Chelsea are having.

I agree with this. The problem is we do not play football anymore. We have become too clever, trying to break football into numbers, and then back into football. It shows in that we have no creativity and offensive plan/play. I think this is why every player coming in seems to get worse after a couple of positive glimpses initially.

I would really hate to play football in this team. No fun. It's like watching a bunch of "track and field" runners being taught gegenpress and pressure-points. Nothing happens when they eventually win the ball. None of them want it...

When my son plays in the Under 10s, I say to him to enjoy the game, don't worry about the result, just have fun.

I'll tell myself that at 5:30, maybe the crowd will sing something funny, a dog will run on the pitch, maybe someone falls over. I'll be looking to find the thing that makes me smile, not worried about what happens on the pitch.

(Yes it's come to this).

Bazunu.

Bednarek.

AMN.

Ffs.

At least we got the best three midfield players playing. Interesting to see how Adams and Sulemana link up too, Adams for all his faults is a good passer of the ball.

McCarthy not even on the bench now after playing midweek?

HOW IS BAZUNU STILL IN THIS FUCKING TEAM.

We are basically willing to get relegated to protect his feelings.

Four Leicester players keep their spots in the starting line-up following their loss to Championship side Blackburn in the FA Cup on Tuesday.

It's eight changes for Southampton after they were stunned by Grimsby in the fifth round of the FA Cup on Wednesday.

Hes played at a level most of our players can only dream of. His experience is great, and can he be any less effective than Orsic or Elyounoussi?

Agreed and Orsic is dross

The squad is so poor that any lineup would look shit. I'm just looking for a decent performance with attacking intent trying to make chances and score goals.

Whether we get that is anyone's guess.

Why is AMN playing over perraud ffs. And bednarek in the 11 when salisu is seemingly fit and on the bench. Not good. Rest of the team looks solid. Like the front 3 and central midfield 3.

Would expect we'll see a Paul > che swap, as well as an edozi > theo at some point.

No, but I challenge you to find a second example of Bednarek blocking Bazunu other than last week.

Bednarek has been blocking my enjoyment for years.

I like Adams. Underrated. Lots of strikers miss chances. Issue is we create so little it seems like it's all down to him that we lose. It's not, it's our lack of creativity (and has been for years).

The team is okay, apart from both bednarek and ANM. At most we can only afford to play one of those at a time, and I would strongly argue neither.

Bazunu is the biggest issue. We could absolutely nail our outfield choices but as long as the opponent's create shots on target we'll concede.

I’m sure he’s a nice bloke.  Unfortunately, he couldn’t hit a cows arse with a banjo.

Swap those two around and it's the same level of diversity! Or are you saying AMN and Benderek are gay?

No, 4 English players, Irish, Scottish, two mixed race, a South America, an African, a Belgian, a German, Walcott is always injured so there’s your disabled player. I guess we’ll have to work out which one the trannie is, I reckon it’s Bazunu he’s quite limp wristed

He does it every time he plays. Stands in front of his keeper which is why he scores so many own goals as he waves a leg at the ball.

I thought there was something off with McCarthy the other night. He couldn’t kick the ball at all, (going short , or when pressed it was going very little distance , even when chasing the game)   which suggests he still has some recurring problem.

I have to say what a fuckin shit lineup... Adams and Walcott up front!!!

I think it’ll be a 433/4231 with Walcott down the right.

We played well for a half against wolves in a similar shape, maybe they can push that to a full 90 for once…

If he's given no time to think he can hit a cow right in the brown eye with a whistle from 10 yards, given plenty of time to think he couldn't hit a T-Rex's ass with a double bass.

Let’s hope they go down to 10 men, then at least we’ll only lose 2-1!
