He also said he was surprised that Aribo hasn't started more games for us. I usually like him as a co-com but he showed his ignorance tonight.

He was basing that on his Rangers alegances, he'd have watched him a lot last year.

But this just shows the gap between the SPL and probably the PL/Championship. You even see guys drop down into the Championship and struggle, Skacel for one, Hooper etc. Awful league, maybe a rough diamond once every now and then but it really shouldn't be trusted.

Simpy embarrassing ...not for the first time in recent years and probably not for the last time this season. Really hard to stay engaged with this team when they serve us such dross.

Good luck to Grimsby,  hope they get a flush draw.

So the only way our season can get worse is if we break our own record of heaviest Premier league defeats and concede 10 in a game. So remind me, who are we playing next 2 games?

😆😆😆 yeah he is our golden boy our next jwp who will carry us for season after season.

He is weak and shifting injury prone and not very good but he will do against the others we can slag off.

Fuckoff sheep boring.

I thought the 79 at the end of your username might have denoted the year you were born, but there's no way that someone in their mid-40s could possibly be this immature so I'm guessing it must actually be your IQ.

It was the poor passing and turnovers which seemed to let Alcaraz down tonight.  I thought Lavia was one of the few to stand out.

Expand

Agreed re Alcaraz, but he at least showed some urgency. Lavia was frustrating tonight, wanting touch after touch and then mostly playing simple balls. Neither were helped by our strikers dropping off next to Djenepo and Orsic though leaving no option for forward balls anywhere where we'd hurt them. Overall, it's hard to blame two young midfielders for that horror show.

First one for sure. I do think the second is soft but DCC was being a moron so I don't think it's one we can really moan about.

First one 100%. Lyanco is a fucking imbecile. Second one was soft, but DCC cant have any complaints lashing out in the box

It wasn't in any shape or form a penalty - a bit of handbags in the box and no, it wasn't a free kick just two players who did pretty much equal to one another and that balloon comes up with a penalty. It is fucking disgraceful that he can get away with a decision like that. Imagine that at Old Traford or Anfield, it just wouldn't be given. I'm more angry about that than our shit performance.

Well if they draw City away one thing is for certain - they won't get given two penalties like that.

The first one gets given now. I don’t think it was deliberate but it hit his arm and that it is. The second was stupid. First he held his shirt collar and then he hit him. An international player, a Premiership player, should never, ever do something so stupid. But we didn’t lose because of these penalties. We lost because we have virtually no goal threat.

Note to Selles - if you are serious about getting into the quarter finals of the FA Cup, start with your best XI and bring on fringe players later.

There are a few results that stand out in my time as a Saints fan that were particularly painful.  The defeat to Stockport in the second leg of the Coca Cola Cup and the 4-3 capitulation to Tranmere in the FA Cup.

They were painful because they seemed so freak. Although we were one of the PL’s strugglers when Stockport knocked us out, it felt unlucky. The effort was there, it could have gone either way and we should have put it to bed in the first leg. Tranmere was just unbelievable as we were so dominant in the first half.

However, the only word I can think of for this defeat to Grimsby is shameful. No guts, no passion, no will to win. They felt inferior to a team three leagues below. And fair play to Grimsby for capitalising on it.

I’m sure I’ll look back on this as an overreaction but this Saints side is not a team to me.  They will go down with barely a whimper and I fear most of us won’t really care.

I don’t go very often but have made a habit of going to the cup games when available, so I went tonight.

That was crap, and also extremely hilarious at how far we’ve fallen in such a short space of time. All in all a shambles with no bite to the team.

I won’t be going again for a while, I’ve got better things I’d rather spend my money on.

He's just reading from the ''things to say after a defeat'' playbook, which we've actually got put up in the changing rooms. We know it word for word now.

I missed the first half. What was Orsic like?

Had one shot from a turn inside that went just wide but probably wouldn't have beaten the keeper anyway. Aside from that he did nothing of any note.

These b*******ds are not fit to wear the shirt.

ANd Selles must take a huge amount of flak for his decisions last 2 games.  Is he the messiah or just a naughty boy......

Hideously bad. On the periphery, knocked off the ball easily, poor touch, not quick.

so exactly as he has been in every other game then. How on earth has he managed to play on the wing for Croatia without any pace?

Maybe that will put an end to the clamour for him to play. Jones was spot on for dropping him.

Orsic ?? How do you go from a WC semi-final, and scoring in the CL regularly to this ?

We don’t  sign shit players, we make them. It’s the Southampton way#

Completely useless players anx tactics. Do these players train at all between games, it's the same rubbish week after week. Who is selecting these transfers in the window, some play like leaque 1 players. No quality, no flair or skill in most of them. I've never seen Eastleigh fc or Winchester fc play the same useless football for half a season. Just couldn't belive the standard of football. Is the manager any different than NJ
