On the top of my head:

  • Appointed Wigley
  • Appointed Gray
  • Appointed Saggy
  • Got us relegated
  • Gave up the Bale sell-on money for Fourpast
  • Sacked a very competent Pearson and replaced him with 2 Dutch jokers
  • Took us into administration days after the cut off for points deduction carrying over into League 1
  • Got us relegated again

But part from that the ruddy cheeked bastard wasn't that bad I suppose.

Lowe sucked the soul out of the club. At least the current ownership are putting money into the club and trying to improve. They've made some horrendous decisions that are likely to relegate us, but it is nowhere near as bad as Lowe.

Funnily enough I was singing Swing Lowe today

SWING LOWE, SWING RUPERT LOWE,

There’s no way in a million years Lowe would have spent the money SR have. Unfortunately it’s all been invested in completely the wrong way and it will prove our downfall.

Part of what I found bewildering about him was that he was willing to acquire a huge squad (we were up to squad number 40 with McQuashie I think) but he wouldn’t sign anyone decent for a larger fee. He was happy to spend £6m collectively on Jakobsson, Nilsson, Yahia and JvD but not on one decent CB we badly needed.

How so? No one's saying he was great but I don't think he was as bad as everyone thought.

You either are too young to have gone through it or you were smashed out of your brain for most of it. He was a shite and there is no way Ankersen is comparable

Rumour is that in the early 80s Rupert Von Lowe visited a klinik in Copenhagen to make a series of 2 minute deposits having been fascinated by the movie the Boys From Brazil. Would not be too much of a stretch to consider that Rasmus (Danish for Rupert) has a direct link sharing both DNA, sports management acumen, and an innate ability to judge good character with the Oxfordshire Fuhrer.

I've seen my future. I shall be waking up at 2am screaming. 🙂

You’d have to think that with Ankersen costing Solak £8-9m in unrecoverable costs in a single operating quarter that there might be a parting of ways come May. At that point, spunking a fortune on mad Nat might prove a bargain for saints in the long run.

Lowe was useless but he didn't have th money that Rasmus Ankersen has at his disposal.

You would hope Dragan Solak at some point is going to look closely at what Ankersen has done with his money and throw the Danish chancer overboard.  Fingers crossed.

Bit of both tbh. I got into football in 2005 (I was a late bloomer) and so I only really had about 3 years of Lowe. I just remember him being a bit of a dick, quite tight with money but not deserving of the death threats etc (then again, is ANYONE deserving of that for purely footballing matters?)

Rasmus is a typical "I'm the smartest guy in the room" bore.

He's probably got stats on our training session. Purring all the while about our defence having not conceded a goal in training since Christmas loudly proclaiming his ever so clever system is working.

He'd be too thick to realize that that also means none of our players have scored a goal in that time.

Well, let's face it, the stadium is a bit of a soulless edifice and much preferred by visiting teams & fans. A bit like Rupert himself I suppose.

We got the new stadium no thanks to Rupert as he wanted Stoneham but upset Eastleigh council with his plans to build more than just a stadium. Rupert was bailed out by Southampton CC who allocated him the brown field site at St Mary's.

There are things in the credit column with Rupert - stadium, improvements to academy, radio station, FA Cup final, 8th place, world class catering. Obviously a sizeable debit column. It's been mentioned once or twice.

But Sport Republic have so far done fuck all except the worst managerial appointment in Premier League history and spending loads of money on too many players with an average age of 19.

All those who remember this season

They won't forget what they've seen

Destruction of a club in its prime

Their average age was nineteen

I never thought it was possible but in Rasmus have we found someone worse than Rupert Lowe???

Well, the result of Lowes tenure was to take us down, put us into administration and almost lose the entire club. Rasmus is doing a great job to emulate the first bit, but thankfully SR will save us from it going further tits up despite him.

Has Lowe written not one but two books with 4.5 star ratings on Amazon?
