I always felt that he was like Murray Walker - probably not the best commentator but more than made up for it with his enthusiasm and excitement. He enhanced the game whereas someone like Barry Davies always seemed a bit too negative in comparison. RIP

I remember him as a man of large stature with great presence. 1

Graham Baker scored one of his trademark volleys from a cleared corner "little Graham Baker ! ". I could be wrong, it may have been his debut against Blackpool. Great commentator, full of facts about the teams and the complete obosite of the commentator who did the Chelsea game last week.
