New Manager

Still believe with the squad we have Bielsa would be ideal. Although also happy with Gerrard - although appreciate Beale seemed to be the tactical brains when he was at Rangers. How about if he brought in Benitez as his assistant/consultant for 4 months? That may work.

Lampard, Rafa, Gerrard, Allardyce, Henry, Selles -no. Just no.

Marsch - wouldn’t be against it at all, seemed like one of those ‘marginally unlucky’ managers though and we can’t afford any more unlucky moments.

Poch, give him a whopping salary and a bonus if he keeps us up. Throw the kitchen sink at it. Put a break in the contract if we stay up or go down. His choice. It’s the one appointment that will unite everyone.

Gallardo, I know nothing about him so … on the fence there.

I would go for a short term appointment. My choice would be Allardyce , for all his faults he knows what it's all about, can handle the pressure and lead the players. One thing for sure he wouldn't tolerate any nonsense. Don't know if he'd come but if the carrot were big enough?

And the Poch shite as well. Ridiculous..

the amount of people saying him is ridiculous. His last two jobs have been challenging for titles and the champions league he ain’t going to come work for a bunch jokers destined for relegation

We are never even close to guessing who the owners will hire, who had NJ on their radar last time....hahaha

He was actually pretty much at the top of the odds list as soon as we got rid of Ralph, so there was some knowledge in our plan with him. We appointed him 24 hrs after sacking Ralph so it was obviously well advanced.

Not getting the love in for Bielsa to be honest.

Well first of all beggars can't be choosers and we are right down there with the lowliest beggar. In fact someone has nicked our bowl.

I know nothing about managers outside this country but Bielsa had something about him at Leeds. They played great to watch football, suicide at times but my God did he have them playing for the team and each other. He knows the Championship and how to get out of it and didn't spend that much as far as I remember. He probably wouldn't come or he might want the same deal he was refused at Everton but as CB Fry has pointed out we are all but down, so why not?

Another reason for Bielsa?  I really can't think of anyone else with a smidgeon of pedigree who would come here. We lost our last chance of attracting someone decent or on their way up in November. Now we must look for someone on their way down. Plus of course no compo would be due. #clutchingatstraws

Yep someone to come in and lead them. It’s a young inexperienced squad, the last thing we need is an inexperienced manager as well. My preference would be Nuno but don’t know if that’s viable. Pochetino won’t come here.

I don’t think anyone can save us anyway,  players aren’t good enough, we need to score at least twice to win a game because we are so crap defensively and with our keeper and we have crap strikers.

Ive seen some fans seriously suggesting Poch as if he's just waiting for an offer of the job, about as realistic as appointing Lawrie McMenemy until the end of the season, steady the ship and command a bit of respect

Lawrie Mc? Give us a break! We need to look forward. He's so outmoded he would now be as useless as NJ

I was joking saying about as realistic as Poch, although on reflection would be quite funny. What are our other former managers up to? Get Hoddle back to finish the job he'd started

Koeman back would be more preferable, unfortunately he’s just taken the national team job again.

We'd get the same reaction from Bielsa that Everton did.  He's about changing culture and growing a team over the long term in his image.  Unless we're accepting that we're already down and looking to appoint a manager to bring us back up then Bielsa is not the man.

Nuno feels look Ike a good fit for us. He did really well at Wolves, and is a big enough name to command respect and restore some credibility to the club.

Would have been more inclined to come to us if we still had his son. Incidentally named Nathan.

Adkins - was great when he was here but his time has passed. Done nothing since to suggest he deserves another shot here.

Poch - will not be coming here unless we offered him outrageous money until the end of the season. Even then, why we he risk diminishing his reputation? Madrid or Spurs might be an option for him come the end of the season.

Gerrard - honestly cannot see the point of him coming in.

Bielsa - probably wouldn't come until the end of the season? No idea how tall Paul would fit his style of football

Nuno - would be a great option but might be on mega money in the Middle-East. Would he want to manage in the Championship again next season? Same applies to pretty much anyone unless we go for an 'until the end of the season' appointment.

If we try and appoint a long-term manager now there will have to be some serious convincing about having a big budget to try and get us promoted again next season. They would also have to align with our method of buying and playing youngsters to then develop and sell. Not sure if Benítez could fit in with that.
