Hmm not sure the numbers stack up there. 42,400 posts against 194

that's because "micky" is another "new" poster that joined a few months ago and immediately started following me around, not the first time this has happened 🤔

Nagelsman sacked by Bayern. It’s happening guys!

Tuchel obviously fed up of waiting for us to approach him. He knows he missed out after Reid approached him all those years ago but clearly wasn’t prepared to wait around again.

Patrick Vieira anyone.

When Semmens said he and Ralph had identified someone who had then taken a post in the Premiership and was doing well, I thought this was a reference to Vieira . It seemed to coincide with his start at Palace.

Not making a case for him, but I suspect he’s been on our radar before.

Not done much for Palace. Madness to take a risk on him.

Guess we need to ask google for directions to Huddersfield next season...................................................................but i suppose its inevitable considering we've been on a downward spiral over the last 2-3 seasons.

The squad is being trained / coached into playing negative keep ball, even though were in jeopardy of loosing our PL status. Theres no direction nor leadership on or off the field. Theres also a strong possibility of being on the wrong side of yet  another cricket score again  before the seasons over ,Man City, Arsenal and Newcastle, all capable of putting big numbers on the board. We simply dont seem to have the mental awareness to cope with what is unfolding on the pitch.

As annoying as it would be to be relegated, will we be able to play better football?,as we are all too well aware its a bastard of a league to try and get out of. just another quick moan is this our standard and not PL ?.

Whoever gets the reigns needs to have a massive clearout.

The managers have been shit but there's something rotten to the core about the squad. No matter who we have they play like they couldn't give a toss about Saints. They just go through the motions with this slow ponderous crap never daring to play an incisive ball. Every time we're chasing the game in stoppage time they barely even try to launch an attack.

Something is horribly wrong.

The clear out should begin at a higher level than squad, or manager. It should start with Rasmus W. Ankersen for the Jones experiment, and those responsible for the shocking recruitment.

I don;t understand the dislike of Selles.  He has done as well as anyone else would do with this shower of s***.  We have not scored goals since Ings left and we just don't create chances or have players who can make a difference in the final third.

A few weeks ago it was 'STuart Armstrong should be playing', 'Caletta CAr shoulde be playing' and then they do and are utter, utter s***e.  We have a terrible squad and no manager could make any difference with the tools at his disposal.

That being said, we have to be braver and try and win games.  Alcaraz, Suleman, Tall Paul should be starting every game

He's done pretty well compared to his predecessors, but this weekend was a "take the brakes off and go for it" fixture.....does he think we've got more games left than we actually have!? Just bizarre.

Forget the manager the clearout starts at Board level.... Semmens And Rasmus either jog on or take a backseat and get some footballing men in at that level... both are absolute tools 🔧

Semmens and Rasmus unlikely to go, together...perhaps Rasmus gets the CEO role?  The incoming guy from City will be Director of Football I expect....might be a turning point.

Depending how he does for the rest of the season I still wouldn't be against keeping Selles. See how he does though.

I think Viera would be a really good appointment. Went a bit tits up at the end but got palace playing good football last season.

We need to persuade Potter to pick us in the Championship as the team to rebuild from the bottom up. He's taking a break and apparently won't take the Leicester job just yet. Let him bring Bruno and whoever. Kick Selles out as he's blind to appropriate team selections. Sell JWP (if he hasn't been already), KWP (ditto), Lavia (because we cannot possibly keep him) and hopefully pay someone to take Ely and Che. Pump all that into experienced pros with metal but no little skill. Allow Potter free rein. Do a Brighton, again. Only way out in my view. Otherwise witness the slide.

Why? What on Earth has he shown to think he’s worth persisting with as manager? Since he took over we’ve beaten a pretty useless Chelsea side, thanks only to a JWP free kick and been dreadful ever since. The Leicester win was very little different to the 1-4 Newcastle defeat which did for Ralph, the only difference being they wasted their four or five excellent chances and the Magpies took theirs. We got a 0-0 at United when their best player was sent off after half an hour and were gifted another point by a soft penalty against Spurs.

Basically, since Chelsea, we could very easily have lost every game if we hadn’t had a huge slice of luck. That includes losing in the cup at home to Grimsby. He’s no better a manager than Jones, in fact he isn’t a manager at all.

There is no way he should be out manager next year.

If we do go down then a total reset is needed, starting with the manager.  Vieira is a good shout, opportunity for him to rebuild his reputation.

What would Selles do I wonder? I couldn't see him accepting what would effectively a demotion back to assistant manager, but then again, he'd be unlikely to get a decent managerial role.

I’d move on from selles at the end of the season. Club needs a complete rebuild reset in terms of coaching. Would also need a manager proven to Get us out the championship. I also can’t forgive selles for his starting line ups especially in the Brentford and West Ham matches. Nope he needs to go. Start again.

Rodgers would be a sensational appointment for us. Obviously things have gone badly wrong for them but he did win the FA Cup and took them very close to the Champions League. I'd be delighted if we finish in the top 10 in the next 5 years.

I read that and went "surely we'll be able to get better than top 10 in the Championship," before I realised the level of optimism there. 🙂

Selles has actually done a good job for someone who has never managed before. He’s obviously making mistakes, as you would expect, but looks to have something about him.

Sadly not here though, we can’t afford someone learning on the job next year, especially someone who I feel is better playing teams that play nice football and attack you (won’t be much of that in the Championship), plus his team looks really weak at defending set pieces. A new manager needs a clean start and his own team so I don’t see how he goes back to a coach (not that he would want that)

Hopefully another club look at this spell outside a ‘manager relegated’ and give him a deserved chance.

Ely is out of contract in the summer, so we won't need to pay anyone to shift him, unless there's been another `McCarthy contract type situation' where we extended  his contract ages ago, but the club have chosen not to reveal it?

I mean, sod it, why not... We've changed the scouting setup (twice), the academy coaching, the first team coaching setup (twice), and the manager (twice) this season. Let alone the utter farce of in terms of player recruitment/churn/bloated squad that we now have... May as well get the assistant manager out for good eh!! I don't know if any department at the club has actually escaped harm so far, but at that point it would basically be impossible to argue we haven't had a "complete reset" over the last 12months summer-summer dictatorial ownership by Rasmus 🤣😂.

But i agree with what i think is your point. Rasmus has destroyed the entire club's identity. We do now need a strong managerial figure to come in and stamp a new identify on us - an up and coming manager with a good attacking style of football, and someone who quite blatantly does it whilst utilising kids. But there is no point just making more changes for the sake of it - the identity of the next manager is key. And someone seriously needs to wrestle the controls out of Rasmus' hands - whatever he's touched has turned to utter ruin.

Also, an aside - if SR decided to walk away now, essentially they'd lose whatever they purchased the club for minus whatever they can sell it for.... but the club is left with the debt from our horrific player recruitment this past year... plus the MS Dell loan? We best hope they are in it for the long run, and that they miraculously start making some good decisions.

Your final sentence answers your first. The reason there is hate for Selles is his timid selections. He continues to start players with "off the ball" talents such as Elyounoussi over players that attack. We have the best dead ball taker in the world, but we wont drive directly forcing penalties. I'd rather watch 3 more 0-9 beatdowns this year and have us attack with some balls rather than another 0-1 loss with our only threat coming in the final moments when we finally played attack-minded players.

Selles criminally sent a team out at West Ham (and Leeds) that lacked ambition, fight and bravery. Cowardly performances in two critical relegation six pointers. That tells me he doesn’t really get what football is all about in this country. His post match interviews prove it. He waffles on about being in control etc which is just painful when we’ve threatened little all afternoon.
He’d be clueless in the Championship where it takes a lot more blood and thunder to compete.

Exactly this .. he will be on a hiding to nothing in the championship ..he doesn’t possess the nauce he’s out of his depth..defensively sets us up not to lose and try and snatch a goal with no goal scorers wen we need our best players on the field to attack from the off… palace Bournemouth and Everton showed us how you chase and fight for everything.. we need an experienced championship campaigner to take us back up on the 1st attempt..looking forward to the away days in the championship tho .. preying the fishy fiddlers come up so we can give them another couple of roastings before we disappear again off their radar for another 15 years

What players of ours do you have in mind that are proven attackers?
