was your post about why they dont have tampons in the mens bogs? It's an outrage, men can have periods too.

Careful, the safety’s off tonight.

Absolute embarrassment of a mistake. If I was going I'd be straight in to ask about the apostrophe.

As far as I'm concerned the buck stops with Semmen's.

Hey Ras, can I call you Ras?

Rasmus then.

Nice shoes: loved the Ted talk.

Razzy-boy, me-old-mucker. Can you confirm something for us? Through the intellectual, tekkie depths of your spreadsheet-y, tactical analysis.

Are Nathan Jones 'tactics', (and I use the term loosely) actually shit?

Enquiring minds really want to know.

Are you coming to the boys’ party on Saturday?

Sorry i is washing my hair's.

We're never going to agree - fans' means "fanses" and boys' means "boyses" - you don't ever need to say it where would you need that apostrophe.

Sorry absolutely a geek topic and right now I've got a girls party to go to.

My hunch is that the club is protecting Jones, as they appreciate he's spikey and will likely end up squaring up to a fan if they disagree with him. Not an amazing conclusion to come to, but that's who they've hired.

Onto this event as it is, I thought SR were conspicuous in their absence in the summer forum - so this is positive in my eyes. They've recently delivered an interview to the athletic, as well as Blackmore on Solent which shed some more light on their plans. This takes it up a notch as they will actually be facing the fanbase and direct questions, rather than slightly muted questions from club connected media people. I think it's a good sign, they get criticism for a lack of communication which is fair - but in my opinion they deserve praise for standing up and facing the heat, they've not hidden and their actions are speaking quite loud right now.

I guess my main question, if I went, would be along the lines of their ambition - what do they want to see us achieve over a long term. All we've heard from club voices over the last 18 months or so is how lucky we are to be here, we can't compete with anyone etc etc - so I'd like to put that question to them and ask them if they want us to compete with those clubs, do they expect us to be able to and where do they want us to be in 5 years.

Actually is that a protected group? If so, sorry

What are you talking about? Adding an apostrophe at the end of a plural never means you have ‘es’ on the end. fans’ does not represent ‘fanses’. An apostrophe after an s is used to show possession with plural or if a word ends in s.
Chris’ girlfriend or Chris’s girlfriend are fine, for example. We said it as Chris’s but it’s acceptable to write it either way. You would never say Chrises and Chris’ doesn’t represent this.

Surely they've kept Nathan Jones away based on the obvious dislike for his tactics and him as a person.

Bottled it. 😂

Not showing the fans the greatest of respect there is he?

Like a first match in charge, a manager's first fans' forum doesn't count. NJ has learned from the Liverpool game. 🙂

Should be a nice occasion after we inevitably get battered at Brentford.

Tenner on someone asking about increasing the capacity or moving the away fans.

Think it’s fair to not bring Jones along considering some of the abuse he’s received so far - I can’t imagine it’s the manager’s conduct the club would be wary of.

Answer: because the ones we have signed are 18-20 rather than 16 or 17 and are players clearly ready to come straight into a PL team and have an impact.

I mean, there are good academy players and then there are different level academy players like Lavia.

Larios is clearly better than Jake Vokins.

Edozie clearly better than any 19 or 20 yo wingers we have/had.

More interesting would be directly asking how we could have kept JJM or Dibling first time around?

The answer would probably be: not much unfortunately.

The young players we have signed are clearly ready to come into the first team and have an impact are they?  Like Small?  and Simeu? And Larios? and Bazunu (well I guess he has had an impact, albeit a negative one)  Even the one that have played have actually contributed little, Edozie zero goals, zero assists - Mara Zero PL goals.

Ballard is scoring for fun in PL2 and he couldn't have actually scored less than Edozie and Mara could he?

To appeal to the fans Rasmus should bring Nat out halfway through. This could be done strapped to a sack truck like Hannibal Lector, pulled out of a suitcase like Orville, or he could jump out of a big cake with P45 iced on top. It will go down a lot better than the shite light show with all due respect.

Don't fret, questions will have to be submitted beforehand and therefore screened. nothing contentious will be allowed.

What’s stopping someone just completely ignoring the fact they’ve been vetted and ask something totally different?

It would also be interesting to know who is doing the vetting - is it Adam Blackmore at the BBC or is it someone at the club? Or perhaps a bit of both. From Radio Solent's perspective, they've got to ensure that it's vaguely interesting for people to listen to (and to clip up and broadcast afterwards too), so they'll want some interesting questions that pose a range of queries to each of the panel. The club would probably prefer all the questions are as "underarm" as possible right now...

I think they’ll be a few questions popping up about Nathan Jones regardless of whether they’re vetted or not.
It’s a huge elephant in the room, his comments about the players, the fans, it’s almost like he wants to be hated. He’s definitely coming across as a bit of a twat now.

If anyone on here gets selected to ask a question....

Bin your question and just ask the audience to stand up if they think Jones should not be our manager.

I’d imagine they’ve kept Nathan away from any Negativity as he has more pressing issues to deal with and needs his head in the game fighting for our survival. A bit more important than listening to so called fans having a pop at him

There is no indication so far that it is being broadcast on Radio Solent or that Adam Blackmore is involved.

I think the majority of us have legitimate questions to ask around his tactics and candour

Back five, dropping Lavia for a semi final but playing 87 mins against blackpool, dropping DCC, signing 2 wingers but playing tactics that don’t support them

Clearly the club are aware either that NJ doesn’t hold much faith with the fans OR they are concerned about how he’d react to any negativity… its not a good look is it

Also… the blokes on a significant wedge, if he’s unable to plan for a game 5 days later because Geoff from Sholing called him a back 5 playing wanker then he’s clearly not cut out for it

We might be baffled and see them as legitimate questions. He will see it as intrusive questioning from those less qualified into his methods of squad management. That's never going to end well. It's never going to start well, for that matter.

He's going to be judged on results, probably across the rest of the season. We might think we're miles off. He says we're really close. SR have supplied players.

He'll have had a decent run at it, by the time the next one comes around.

I'm not sure this is a "for broadcast" forum to be honest. I havent seen any mention and normally Blackmore starts blowing the trumpet if it is.

Sounds to me like a total PR exercise for the club. Hand picked audience, hand picked questions.

I don’t share the hate for Jones that many in here have.

But I think it is a huge mistake for him not to be there.  A genuine chance to engage and persuade.  You will never win everyone over, at least not until you have success, but the quiet majority will often be persuadable.

Poor decision

Must admit I just assumed that it was in conjunction with Solent, because all previous ones have been.

Absolute waste of time if there's not somebody from outside the club hosting/moderating the event.

One of many.

Even those of us who don't think he's remotely up to the job would have more (the greatest, perhaps) respect for him if he fronted up. But no, he has hidden, or the club has hidden him, away from any potential scrutiny.

You don’t get to be in a position such as his and be free of critique.. who is he to believe he is above inquisition ?

There are many who have worked or studied the game that are concerned by his appointment just as much as the majority are.. to be frank… an opinion held by the vast majority tends to be, in most situations correct

Regardless of that, he had the opportunity to defend his position and tactics, but has instead decided to hide away

Dissapointing to be honest

Every fan going to the forum has absolutely no excuse not to make it abundantly clear where fan sentiment lies on this clown of a manager. It is the only message that needs to be conveyed. The fanbase will be watching online.

The whole audience should get up and walkout as soon as Adam Blackmore starts the intros. Actions speak louder than words and would leave the panel floundering live on BBC radio...
