And he genuinely looked quite chuffed to be receiving the ovation.

When he got the ball, there was a hum around the ground that something might happen. Indeed, I remember him taking the ball and laying off I great pass to the wing and there was a ball dribbling skill moment. One of our best players yesterday and hope he's fit for Friday. Didn't think I'd ever be saying that!

We haven't had that for ages, wouldn't it lift morale to have a player who is exciting, who makes things happen. We have become utterly boring. That is the style and we are ;paying good money to be bored and frustrated.   At least he looked as if he might make something happen. If he hadn't got injured he would probably have been subbed for upsetting the system

Given he's only been given the opportunity to play the equivalent of 5.5 premier league games* in almost 2 years at the club (*1.2 games under Martin), he's hardly going to have many close scoring attempts in his highlights reel...

Have you actually read the thread because most of us have said we don't like the chant and could do without it. Don't throw accusations around angrily without checking to see if they're warranted, thanks.

I'm not convinced he is ever going to dominate in the air i.e. get on the end of loads of crosses.  He doesn't seem to jump or naturally time his headers.  I think he will be outdone inthe air by most centrebacks in the top teams.  He does have decent feet though and I can see him causing problems for defences if he can get up to speed.  Shame his work on Sunday was all in the middle of the pitch as we rarely had the ball near their goal.

If we got the ball to him in the box (theirs not ours), I actually think he'd be pretty sucessful.

I believe RM said that it was just cramp but it did look worse than that (Although he did then proceed to walk off!). I guess we will know more ahead of the game on Friday, hopefully he will be fit soon as he looked really effective v Liverpool and could turn out to be a decent striker for us if he is given the chance to prove himself!

Yes he's been close and speaking to a couple of lads at work who know much more about football than me, they watched Sunday's game and asked why hasn't he played more for us. Ask RM. Must admit, never really thought TP is the answer but he did look good on Sunday and i'd like to see crosses pumped up to him.

The reason being the manager he signed under was sacked pretty quickly after he joined, the new manager wasn't very good and nor was PO and then last summer he wanted to leave to go on loan and then this summer back to the club he was on loan at. It's not some massive in justice just because he did a couple of nice turns on Sunday.

But did you see that showboating 'look away' pass? The bit where he fell over but the ball still came with him? His exaggerated stepovers? 

To be fair to him, I haven't seen many others in the squad raise the crowd's expectation like he did on Sunday. He's got more about him than a lot of us initially gave him credit for and hopefully he get a run in the side where he can be judged based on a number of performances.

Yeah everybody remembers his lunchbox being highlighted by all the media. Don't remember him complaining at the time. If he has come out after his retirement fucking god knows how many years ago complaining about the size of his dick then he should have put a cup in his Spandex or something.
