From the bloke who could hardly contain himself when Ched Evans headed one in Preston’s net last season.

Things are looking up, Premier league goal from a corner. Something lacking under Legoball.

Not a Scooby what that’s a reference to, sorry.

Yeah and if me aunty had a pair of balls she'd be me uncle.

Doesn’t work as an analogy I’m afraid. I’m literally talking about the exact same game unfolding but with a different name on the oppositions badge, hardly a leap in imagination. We lost to a team in the bottom third of the table, who generally played like they belonged there for 80 minutes of that match.

If you say so.

I do think those are fairly important measures when the player in question is an attacking forward who cost £22m, yes.

Guess I’d best stick to Fantasy Football with crazy high expectations like that.

Point accepted.

£22m might not be big by today's standards, but it was a lot for us and I think every fan will have hoped for more of both.

He was excellent last night. Showed what some of us could see was there. He might not reach those heights again, but it was great to watch. I love pacey forwards like him.

No end product? How is getting the ball on the half way line. Beating the full back all ends up and getting a shot on target that the keeper makes a great save not end product?

We have literally created nothing over the last month and while he single handedly tore United's defence a new one you want to point out one missed pass? I guess you are correct, but not sure why you are so keen to describe the negative rather than the positive.

People are too quick to slag off players even cornet and orsic got called shit and they hardly got a game 😂 prople say kamaldern has been shit for two years but seem to miss the point that he had a totally injury disrupted season last year .. then fell out of favour with Martin and he has only now started getting any meaningful game time ., judging stats by appearances is also pointless when the player is only getting 5-10 minutes to make any impact

After the dross he has served up over a couple of years I can't believe anyone would think he was anything other than superb last night, for the first hour at least.

Juric has worked out that he needs to be given space to run into rather than marooned out wide against a team with men behind the ball. He can create a chance from the halfway line out of a nothing situation.

Few players can rip someone apart like he did to Yoro last night, and whilst his final actions clearly werent perfect, they were getting closer and were productive in the Swansea game.

Defenders hate facing players like that with 50 yards of space, and he is our only forward (Dibling aside) that will actually trouble defenders.

At the very least if he continues to show this level we might get some good offers in the summer.

Maybe I'm cynical, but suddenly playing like you give a shit when there's a sniff of a move (Ajax, Genoa, etc linked)? Doesn't butter any parsnips for me.

Coukd also view it as looking like giving a shit when a manager actually puts a bit of faith in you .. it must be quite demoralising to get thrown on for 3 minutes at the end of games or hooked as a scapegoat after 15 minutes when losing to spurs .,at the same time the haters clock up another appearance  he didn’t contribute in ..

conoare that to someone who sees the good in you like juric then the player will start to build confidence enjoy his football again and effort will seem more worthwhile .

This is probably the most important thing.

Think you deserve a few pats on the back and a few retractions from those who rubbished your long standing support for Sulemana.  He was brilliant last night and his performance is a tick for Juric and a colossal fail for Martin who didn’t have the vision, man management or coaching skills to get the best out of the lad.   Similar story with Les Ugochukwu;  Juric saw and encouraged, in a few days what Martin ignored for half a season.

Thank you buddy, hope it continues always thought he had sky high potential since that spurs 3-3 game ..players like him that can go past players like that have a high upside he’s got the control also.

If you want to get a tune out of some flair players, the manager has to show them some love. That means playing them in the next game even if in the last game things didn't go well. Managers have to show some of the bravery they themselves talk so much about.  I don't think many of our managers have really done that with flair players over many years. Hard to blame them. They are under pressure to get results and indeed us as fans see a poor performance and are only too happy for that player to be dropped from the next game.

I get the feeling Juric knew what Sulemena had in his locker and has decided to show him some of that love I mentioned. He perhaps has told him `he is the guy', `he knows he can do it' and he has backed it up with some consecutive games and minutes. It paid off yesterday. Now can he do it again? I suspect Forest will be much tougher and he may offer limited impact. They don't have a stupid five-at-the-back-don't-have-a-clue-what-they-are-doing formation. But if not in that game, let's see if he can do it in the game after. I have a feeling, even if Sulemena doesn't do it at Forest, Juric will pick him again and that confidence in him might be rewarded again. We shall see.

Agree with this 100 percent .. players need some love from the manager. Even mlt went to another level with ball who made him feel like he was Southampton..”

You have  ronaldo and give him 5-10 mins at the end of games and his goal  and assist stats would be shit too .. yet.this silly goals to appearance judgement keeps going on

Seeing the improvement in Sully makes me dwell on what Juric could have done with Alcaraz if he were still here….

I'd guess if we still had Alcaraz, we might not have Fernandes. Which would be a shame.

True.  Alternatively, if we still had Alcaraz we might not have Smallbone.   Which would not be such a shame.

Surprised it hasn't been mentioned on here but during yesterday's Going Home podcast, Blackmore let slip he had been told around the time Sulemana joined us that he had an ongoing long-term injury.

To think that we signed Ross Stewart just months later, that's a combined £32M towards injured players (and our top scorer since the start of the year is a defender who cost £5M...)

Sully has been more exciting then dibling since juric has come in . Hope people are starting to realise that he isn’t  crap now just was wasn’t getting any love under Martin  we would absolute mugs to let him go for a pittance at the end of the season , I’m hoping juric will have a say in him staying

I agree, with one slight doubt. He’ll be playing against deeper defences next season, can he break them down without the space in behind?

He looked world class against swansea, next week v the world's meanest defence will be a good test of what he can do

If we can't afford a Championship manager how about we look a little lower. Kelvin your time has come ( again). Or how about Jimmy  Ball , fighting relegation would be in his DNA, and we know the tactics- just give it to Tyler at every opportunity.

Have the club given up? Shall we cancel the rest of the season?

Will they refund season tickets considering the season is over already?

I think the type of player he is playing in a a style of football RM played meant that his strengths were not required by the team. Much like if you played him as the number 9 in a long ball team. If Martin was staying his only value would be carrying the water bottles. In Jurics system he wants wingers in behind in space in the channels and to run with ball. Pace is king but not required when you expect your winger to turn back and play to the CB if there is no space.

Russ ball was always dire to watch and risky but we lucked out in the play offs. in the prem it was a certainty that we would lose most weeks.

He got the full Motd praise for his speed and making things happen in defence and attack .

Guys, steady. Yes, he looked good against the mighty Swansea and for the 20 minutes he came on against Ipswich, but until he has played a few more games where he can prove he can shoot and control the ball when running with it, the jury is still out.

That said, he does look to have taken his head out of his arse, looked around and decided he wants to show people he can play football. Think a lot of that is on Juric and our new(ish) style of play.
