Lighthouse Posted 30 January, 2023 Posted 30 January, 2023 Decent draw, a shame all the decent sides have easy opponents.

Whitey Grandad Posted 30 January, 2023 Posted 30 January, 2023 Spooky. Ties will be played midweek around the 1st March.
John Boy Saint Posted 30 January, 2023 Posted 30 January, 2023 I just had to happen - certainly gives it a bit of edge

LaptopSaint Posted 30 January, 2023 Posted 30 January, 2023 With the greatest of respect, that's a decent draw. 6

Whitey Grandad Posted 30 January, 2023 Posted 30 January, 2023 Ties will be settled on the night with extra time and penalties if necessary.

FarehamSaintJames Posted 30 January, 2023 Posted 30 January, 2023 Luton will be pumped for that, providing they beat Grimsby. 1
S-Clarke Posted 30 January, 2023 Posted 30 January, 2023 That's a good draw, I didn't realise how few PL teams there are left. Decent chance for a minnow to win a cup this year, it needed to happen at some point for Spurs I guess. 5
SotonianWill Posted 30 January, 2023 Posted 30 January, 2023 the gods want us to win a cup this year, put the champagne on ice

alehouseboys Posted 30 January, 2023 Posted 30 January, 2023 MIGs incoming - bet Nath hopes it's Grimsby
Lord Duckhunter Posted 30 January, 2023 Posted 30 January, 2023 Sidney will be happy, he can meet up with all his Luton mates. 7

bangkoksaint Posted 30 January, 2023 Posted 30 January, 2023 Cup double and get relegated……..probably get decent odds for that!!

Being a midweek round of games only two perhaps 3 games shown, will be Sheff Utd v Spurs Bristol City v Man City Perhaps Man Utd for the guaranteed viewing figures
JRM Posted 30 January, 2023 Posted 30 January, 2023 Definitely a good draw though, our record reaching later rounds of cup competitions has been good last few seasons
Pamplemousse Posted 30 January, 2023 Author Posted 30 January, 2023 (edited) All the games in the 5th round last season were on TV so I'd expect the same this year. Although we might be shunted to ITV4 or the BBC Red Button... Edited 30 January, 2023 by Pamplemousse
Charlie Wayman Posted 30 January, 2023 Posted 30 January, 2023 It's written in the tablets, Saints are going to win the FA Cup.
Lighthouse Posted 30 January, 2023 Posted 30 January, 2023 Just out of interest, does anyone know our best combined performance in the cups for a single season? If we do beat Luton, that'll be QF and SF as a minimum for this year.

richie Posted 30 January, 2023 Posted 30 January, 2023 A good draw but does anyone else like me hope for an away day to a ground we'd never normally play? We seem to get home draws again and again.

Not quite the same but 1991/92 felt like a good year for cup runs , 4th round league Cup, 1/4 final replay in fa cup and final of the zds cup , with replays it felt like a lot of cup games.

With the next round being midweek an away trip to Grimsby would have been a struggle.
Saint Garrett Posted 31 January, 2023 Posted 31 January, 2023 Sure we went a few years without a home draw. Seem to have had loads the last few seasons. Can’t complain. Early rounds in the league cup have been a great chance to get some good away days, like Cambridge and Newport.
