We can keep blaming individual players until we go blue in the face, but the reality is that they're being asked to make Jones's unworkable system work. The sign of a good manager is getting the best out of his players. Almost to a man, our guys have been playing as badly as we've seen them play - until Jones forsakes his nutjob Back 3/Back 5, and then everyone looks better.

I could cut Jones some slack if he looked like he was learning, but his arrogance doesn't allow that. It'll be the same at the weekend when his ego picks the team again.

We look like a different side to the one that started. Still zero cutting edge though.

It’s not at all surprising though. We’re a shitshow everytime we revert to a back 5.

we all knew it was game over when we saw the line up. Why didn’t Jones?

oh right that's ok then.

If the fact it's his debut means he isn't going to be very good then why give him said debut away to a top side in the semi final of a cup?

Makes absolutely no sense to me at all

Some of the weirdos on here would be ok throwing a 17 year old into the Premier League, yet are ok to write off the Championships best right-backs on a 45 min showing.

Now that doesn’t make sense either.

He hasn't been tonight. He's been far better than Salisu. Judge the performance, not the man.

Agreed. it must be difficult to play next to Lyanco and Salisu, both are far too frequently all over the place.

Yep. He looked lost first half, but no worse than Lyanco and Salisu who are seasoned at this level. Been pretty good this half imo.

I don’t think you understand what I mean. He has been better than Salisu… Salisu has been awful. Bednarek has been meh. Better than Salisu but still meh. Story of our squad. History has shown bednarek to be a limited and  just about competent defender on his day. As a club we should be aiming for better if we want to improve our league position.

Why does Salisu get such relief on here.

He’s been terrible for fucking ages.

Yeah he’s been okay. Maybe we were a bit harsh playing wing back ahead of the awful Lyanco

I can only think that the atmosphere, NJ’s words ringing in the players ears, then the selection has put us on the back foot from kick off.

Players seem to be playing for themselves second half and managing the game on the pitch.

Not good for NJ and staff confidence, especially when you get a coach sent off

Bollox to history. I'm watching this game and am interested in how players are playing tonight. Bednarek has been ok tonight.

Salisu making far more errors than usual.

Armstrong doesn’t want to score against his home town club.

He’s been shite for ages. To be Frank, he’s just as much a liability as Lyanco at times.
