I really hope Jones knows what he's doing. How the hell do Adams and Elynoussi come back in. Cannot see anything but a tepid performance and defeat. Obviously Jones has never heard the maxim, Never change a winning team.

And this is one of the things that concerned me with Jones - another tinker man, demotivating players that do an outstanding job. I hope he gets flamed if we lose today, but equally congrats if he’s right and we get a win.

It won’t be five at the back until we were to take a winning position. It’ll be same shape we started with against City with Lyanco RB.

🤦🏽‍♂️

Che can hold up our direct play a bit better against their 5 at the back.

Our direct play is awful. The tactics we employed against City would have been no less effective against Everton.

He may be following the maxim, rest a tired player. I dunno if that's his thinking, but it may well be.

I like neither his ability nor his attitude

What's this attitude issue? Any links?

Nor has every other manager in the premier league. Perhaps you should tell Erik ten Hag you’re valuable insight into managing at the top level, they may have won 5-1 today if they kept the same 11 that won midweek.

This sort of pony is exactly why Jonesy has every right to snap back at you twats. Every single manager rests players, changes sides between cups and the league. Fucking bunch of jokers on here.

If we lose this, NJ has set himself up for a huge amount of criticism.

He might be getting used to it.

No need for your sarcastic comment LD, this is a forum for Saints fans with different opinions. Yours is obviously the only one that counts. I will leave it at that, I have no wish to trade insults with you and stoop to your level.

I think this is the plan tbf.

Keep it tight, get the crowd on their backs and then got for it after an hour.

Would prefer to see us start on the front foot and get in their faces. Take the game to them.

I tend to agree, as I think pressing shit teams works. They don't keep the ball well and are less likely to beat the press. Let's see. COYR.

Don’t he’s looking forward to bed wetting again

Good start tbf. I just think that Che is such a poor player at this standard. Offers nothing. Beaten to everything in the air. Consistently caught offside. Just doesn't read the game well at all. At least Mara pulls defenders about.

That pitch looks as bad as ours.

Why is our pitch bad at the moment? It’s had the entire World Cup break for it to recover from any wear and tear, it’s not especially awkward in terms of sunlight access or anything like that, and it was always in the past highly praised for what an excellent surface it usually presents.
