I've travelled away on a coach about twice since doing a few trips on the Foley buses back in the early 80s, not something I favour. The last time was a few years back for a game oop north when we had no option but the 'Travel Club' would be a step too far - we used Southampton Away Travel and it was probably as good as it gets in the circumstances.

I'm like that, could buy today but will wait until Friday to buy with others I'm going with, club should make clear how many need to be sold by when to keep full allocation

When ever the club states for away games  “ depending on ticket sales “ then very quickly they send tickets back without tell anyone.

i suspect this will be the case this time  and we will send back at least 2 blocks.  so only have around 2000/2500 avaible .

I've done it once on the southampton away travel unofficial, comfort wise was fine, put a only fools and horses dvd on for way up,  had a kip for most of way back , not preferred method but at least gets you there and back for a decent price

Not surprised at all at this, despite what the club says doesn't seem to be anything stopping away fans buying in the home end for first leg

"I don't know if it's changed in the last hour, but I registered after the cutoff (after the draw was made), and I managed to get three tickets today."

Sounds about right. Hopefully saints should be able to look through the database and see who has recently registered with a Newcastle postcode…!

In all honesty I don't mind the odd one or two coming with their Saints mates as long as they keep themselves quiet. The ones that come in and give it the big one deserve a smack before being dragged out.

Coach travel has got much better since you were at school 😜

We went up to Stockport to watch the ladies last summer on a club coach, ok that’s only just half way to Newcastle, and the ride was very comfortable and smooth, and not being the smallest of chaps it was rather relaxing.
if you do sign up I would recommend you pack one of those travel neck cushions, being a night game and a long trip the wafting ride will make you doze off - you may as well take advantage and not spend hours trying to catch your head and cat napping.

I’ve been to Newcastle on the supporters’ coach a couple of times for evening games some twenty years ago. They used to reckon on six hours of driving. Coming back wasn’t too bad if you could get some sleep. On most occasions I got dropped back at my car well before 03:00

On the website looks like we’ve sold every seat in the Northam, Itchen and most of the Kingsland. But loads of tickets in the Chapel and the Chapel corners, is that right? Have we given Newcastle the whole of the Northam?

Newcastle only got given the standard league allocation. Judging by comments above and links to one of their forums I'd guess they've bought up loads today in home ends.

It’s only 10% for the league cup.

Yeah I know. That's why they (and city) were given the standard league allocation (as it's equal to the 10%) and not the whole northam like we've started doing for the FA Cup in recent years.

Home seems to be well on it’s way to a sell out. Just the family stand and usual parts of the Chapel to go.

Just got mine for the away leg. Sales look a little slow. Procrastinating and worked out we’ve got roughly 2800 up for sale, with under 1/2 of that being sold so far going on visuals. Would be a shame if we couldn’t at least get close to a sell out, but I guess people will wait until Tuesday (by which point the club most likely would have sent back the extra 1k). Seem to remember us taking 5k to Liverpool - albeit more time to arrange.

How did you manage to count? Not all blocks are on sale are they?

As you click on each block it tells you how many seats available in that area, it's quite easy to tot up as you go round. There's around 3,500 left (Chapel end of stadium only) so should sell out in next couple of days. Away leg still restricted sales but selling well. Villa not far off a sell-out too.

No, but 4 blocks are. Over 500 per block, then 150 odd for the little bits at the front. X4 and it’s roughly 2800. Then another 1000 is greyed out - which I assume unless a big in flux happens before Tuesday, will go to Newcastle’s fans

I’ve got mine too. First trip to SJP but combining it with work so train up and a couple of nights stay to avoid the strikes.

I'm confused - if we don't, do they give those blocks to home fans instead? In which case their reasoning for sticking away fans in the top tier - it's the only way to segregate home and away at St James - is utter bollocks.

Still only on sale to ST Holders with 'Prime Members' getting access to tickets this afternoon - other members and then General Sale next week which will see a few more go. As long as Newcastle aren't demanding unsold tickets from the 3,700 be returned before Wednesday, then it should see another uptake if still in it after Tuesday night.

Shame they didn't warm up the wrong balls to give us and Forest the away legs first.......

I remember that game, not many of us up there, classic Pony / Dimplex away kit.

Sorted tickets now as well, fair few sold but still plenty of the first four blocks they put on sale available, on sale to members now.

I was just looking at getting tickets, and realised rail strike the following day. Such bad timing. I wanted to take my 7 year old, and don't think he could do the coach. Only travelling to London as well.

I'm in L7J and there was definitely L7H on sale too. If anything, blocks M and N were held back, which seems odd.

But sensible as would mean those getting first dibs on tickets don't get shoved right at the end but get a shot at the better placed seats, which ain't usually the case.

But, I guess, if they put L7H on sale first, no difference!

It’s J and H that had been held back as I’m in K and that was the furthest block Thursday - so if all correct means we’ve opened up our full allocation.

We do have a few 100 northern based fans who may snap up more during general. Tight game Tuesday and people will find a way to get there.

If it was J and H held back, we're solidly on our way to a full take up.

Do we reckon the away tickets will get to general sale and if so how quick they will or won’t sell out afterwards?

There will be plenty, when the tickets went on sale they had only made 4 blocks available holding the others back, looking now it is the same 4 blocks still on sale, others to the left of this image have not been put on yet. Block furthest to the right as you look at this with most seats available is the one nearest the corner flag.

I reckon we'll sell quite a few more on Monday afternoon when they go on general sale to purchase history, what we don't know is if the club can wait until after the game on Tuesday night to decide to take the other blocks.

If we can somehow go up there with a lead, like Liverpool last time, it might encourage a few more to go.

Being one of those who went to Liverpool, that night is why I sit through all the shit games, it was incredible. I’d encourage anyone that can make the trip to do so!

Looks like around 600 of those currently on sale left, but although we did have part of block H originally available, I think we initially had around 2,800 on sale as JRM says, so will need imo a big general sale on Monday if we are to get the full allocation.

Looks like your screenshot has missed off one block, L7N at the furthest right, which would make up the initial 2,800 allocation. Block L7H will probably remain an empty segregation area if we don't take the extra, if we do it should stretch round the corner into L7F.

If General Sale doesn't move quickly they'll likely not request further tickets but hopefully they negotiate and put L7H (the last block before it goes round the corner) on sale if a positive result Tuesday, that would make a 3,400 allocation.

Furthest right is a row of single seats famous at Newcastle for those who like a bit of social distancing it's not a missing block
