I only buy training tops for the gym anyway, so not fussed what the first team kit is like.

Now what does grind my gears is not putting the proper badge on said training tops, but have some kind of silhouette of the badge. This is not just something SFC do of course, but I will not buy anything without the proper crest on it.

As you were.

To be fair, having a silhouette has been a bit of a blessing this past year!

Such a Football League kit. Whatever that brand is, if we ever get that we know we're in the toilet.

Macron do make kits for Palace, Forest, Nice, Real Sociedad among others. So they probably rank alongside Hummel in terms of the level of clubs they supply and I would actually prefer them

I'm going to stick my neck out and say it will be "back to basics" stripes.

I'm glad we're going with stripes and nothing too whacky.

So, just to clarify, it's not "basic" stripes but not "whacky" stripes either....?

What would be the best adjective to descripe the stripes?

It's stripes. I suppose it depends what your definition of back to basics is.

Macron do actually make some decent kits. Grass Roots and Non League use Macron and Hummel a lot.

Of course Nike, Adidas even Puma have the global pull.

But the quality of a Macron and Hummel kit at the more expensive end, in my experience has all ways been better than most things offered by Nike or Adidas.

Coming back to the Saints, I guess next season will all be about the quality in the shirts that is probably more important at the moment…………..

It’s going to be the leaked kit.  Always is.

The '85/Denmark design? Or has there been another leak?

Whilst the 'Denmark' design incorporates an element of stripes, if you asked someone to describe it in one word, I don't think "stripes" would be the first word that entered most people's heads, which sort of goes against how Hypo is primarily describing it...

(Yes, I know I'm thinking about it far too hard :) )

There hasn't been a leaked kit has there?

Meh. I'm in my mid forties: Hummel mean to me Denmark 86, the best Saints kit there has ever been (1990) and the half and half and other great kits for Spurs/us/Villa/etc.

Macron mean to me tinpot toilet Stoke or Middlesbrough.

Admiral FA cup final kit for me, how can any kit in the history of Saints be any better, also no ads to the front

Looks great! you can see something else on the back of the shirt on the top right shoulder. I wonder if that's some sort of shoulder thing or the back of the shirt? looks like a shoulder stripe actually.

I could live with that if that’s what they go with - not with a plain back though. Looks like chevrons on the shoulder.

Not really sure what the point is with the DSBMedia, apart from messing around with potential designs. I’m all for having a bit of fun. But at least have an idea of what it’s going to look like,

Unless I’m mistaken, there has been zero rumours which is pretty impressive, given we pretty much knew last years home kit, and we knew the away was blue ‘waves’ and 3rd was ‘Spitfire’.

Reminds me of the promotion kit,

Only with a full striped back though. If it doesn’t have stripes on the back then I’d drop stripes altogether.

On the sleeve debate, down to personal choice but my recollection is:

White sleeves - associated with promotion in 2012 and 1978 (in the Admiral kit)

Red sleeves - relegation in 2005.

Keegan era, Rank Xerox design.

Preferably no ads of course.

EFL make specific reference to this in the 2022-23 handbook.

Guidance

The EFL will consult with Clubs as to the best ways to ensure that numbers are more visible ahead of Season 2022/23. One option will be that Clubs with striped shirts will be required to include panel, but the EFL will also review number design to see if additional improvements can be made.

As far as 'stripes' go, this is probably just about perfect.

Always preferred when we've used white as the base with red stripes, rather than red with white.. if that makes sense.

The regulators have been going on about this for years now but nobody adheres to it, well except us of course! Don’t know why the visibility of the numbers is even an issue in this day and age, especially with the amount of assistant refs and cameras trained on the pitch.
