SNSUN Posted 11 January, 2023 Posted 11 January, 2023 Our line up vs their line up. 🙈 Hoping for a cup miracle. 3
macca155 Posted 11 January, 2023 Posted 11 January, 2023 Better shape, priority has to be Everton. Resting Adams and Edozie is sensible. Plus confining Stuart Armstrong to the medical room is a good move. Obviously Djenepo and Diallo are weak but maybe the latter will be more comfortable with the other two next to him. I'm expecting 2 or 3 nil to City. If it means the team's shape starts to solidify then that's progress.
egg Posted 11 January, 2023 Posted 11 January, 2023 (edited) Possibly a back 4 with Lyanco at RB and KWP at LB? Anything's possible with Jones. Edited 11 January, 2023 by egg
Disco Stu Posted 11 January, 2023 Posted 11 January, 2023 I hate this formation to be honest. I know it's logical against a strong opponent like City but I think this would have been the shape regardless of our opposition. League 1 Lincoln at home is a case in point.
Baird of the land Posted 11 January, 2023 Posted 11 January, 2023 Not a fan of Mara starting. Not a huge fan of Diallo, when he's in a 2 with JWp he looks particularly hopeless. Hopefully he's better suited to a 3 where Lavia will be the DM. Curious so see Djenepo Again at WB again.

Badger Posted 11 January, 2023 Posted 11 January, 2023 Diallo, Djenepo starting - ffs, with Mara up front. Very little to offer any hope. 1
StrangelyBrown Posted 11 January, 2023 Posted 11 January, 2023 Not sure what the logic is here, we played a strong team against Palace which suggests we're not throwing the towel in for the cups and then we put out this team. I get the "rest the team argument" and I know it's about timing, but we're within a couple of games of a final - It would make more sense to rest players for the fa cup game. Just plain bizarre team selection.

Luton and Oldham were tough to take, we beat Bolton and lost to Norwich in 1/4 in 1992, most recent times Koeman fucked it up and we lost to league one Sheff Utd in quarters when heavy favourites

Interested to see how Armstrong and Mara get on. What does it say that i was dreading a worse line up? 🙈 The fact that city's weakened team can still comfortably feature players like foden, grealish, alvarez, laporte, walker, and cancelo.... with Haaland and KDB on the bench. Actually horrific. I’m seeing that as a 3 5 2.

bpsaint Posted 11 January, 2023 Posted 11 January, 2023 7/1 on over 5.5 goals. That’ll take the edge off

FarehamSaintJames Posted 11 January, 2023 Posted 11 January, 2023 We have Djenepo a new contract on the back of three crappy pre-season games 😅

Nieldy Posted 11 January, 2023 Posted 11 January, 2023 Wonder what people's thoughts would be on Jones if we win this one🤔

Confidence-wise it matters though. Going into an important 6-pointer on Saturday off the back of a 6-0 spanking is very different to going in off the back of a tight 1-0.

We’ve had far more surprise wins than 9-0s against these teams over the last few years. 1
