Exactly. And Jones has to accommodate him and not try and shoehorn him into a typical Jones clusterfuck. Build around him rather than the other way round. I'm looking forward to long range goals rather than big misses. He puts his foot through the ball rather than trying to curl his foot around it so he gets great power.

Really good article and detail amigo, finally a player that doesnt over elaborate.

'He is not your stereotypical ‘tricky’ winger and is more akin to fellow countryman Ivan Perišić in the way his primary concern is finding an effective and efficient way to either cross for a teammate or shoot."

Also Bruno Petkovic is a fucking tank.

Good article but what is Orsic like when the ball is continually thumped sixty yards to nobody in particular? Will that play to his strengths?

I do wonder whether he’s just not fit enough to play in a PL game…even against lower level opponents he looked very off the pace. Not sure what to think about a DCC connection - can’t believe any decent Manager would disqualify a really decent player from appearing because of another players connection.  In a large squad just don’t think he’s showing enough to get selected and perhaps he doesn’t care?

It's rumoured that Selles has told a number of players that they won't feature. Who? I've no idea. It may be that DCC and Orsic could be among them.

When did you hear this rumour ? If you'd have written that on Friday then most would have been delighted, and speculated that AMN, Bednarek, and possibly Aribo  would have been among those cast out. Two of them featured on Saturday though.

Would be a shame if Orsic and DCC are two of the outcasts as I think they've got something to offer. Do you really go from WC semi-finalist for a decent side to not making our matchday squad ? However if attitude is the issue then RS is spot on.

I picked it up as him telling the players, they'd have to fight to stay in his plans. Somewhere around the same time as him wanting to have a core group of starters.

It'll be a tough run in. It's one thing to motivate players and another to categorically tell them they aren't wanted.

They will all be aware that, regardless of what happens, we've got a large squad. There's a fight to get minutes. Or should be.

Probably bullshit but I have a friend who knows Andy Martino and he said there is no issue with DCC just not been showing enough in training but Orsic has been told to work on his fitness then will be reintroduced to 1st team action when ready.

From what I've been told moving forward, I'd expect Elyounoussi, Walcott and S Armstrong to play as the 10s in a 4222 system. They know all the triggers and pressing in that system.  Once Edozie, Orisic etc learn to play the system & learn the pressing triggers then we will see more of them in a few weeks.  The others are just more reliable atm in a 4222. Was no surprise to see us go back to the playbooks 4222 last weekend, and would expect more of it.

No. We can either loan him back to improve his match fitness, or sell him back.

Yep. We were told that he needed to focus on just defending. He did that and looked brilliant. He then got dumped from the match day 20. Very odd.

One might think that the training ground bust up had a player who had previously been doing well and was suddenly and inexplicably dropped from the first team and not featured since. You might draw the conclusion that due to this he was frozen out by the previous manager and now has to work his way back into the side, just a thought…….

That feels very likely...it's hard to see a sensible football reason, unless it's felt that he doesn't suit a back 4 in Selles system.
