Going out on a limb here but I'd guess Matt Le Tissier

Thought he was Spurs fan as a kid.

Surprised to hear Vernon Kay on radio 2 in the week speaking about how poor we were vs Forest.

Had no idea he supported us.

I thought Vernon was a well known Bolton fan?

I thought Darren Anderton was and of course Bridgey.

Yeah he used to go to the same school as me, although he left by the time I started. Used to see him around the area sometimes. Remember seeing Him in Cenos in Portswood a few times.

Darryl and Aaron Flahaven (RIP) both went there as well. Darryl made a load of appearances for Southend and Aaron as some will remember played for Pompey and tragically died in a car crash when he was about 24. Both saints fans I believe

Sicknote is about 4 years younger than me, and lived just around the corner (the clue is in my username), I've known him since First school. He would destroy us in jumpers-for-goalposts games in riverside park or in the school field. We have a mutual friend who was his best friend from back then, and still is to this day. He was/is a Spurs fan and was thrilled when DA went there. Last i heard DA was earning £3k a pop for giving corporate/motivational speeches, wiki has him currently living in The States.

Another Bitterne Park boy, who was definitely a Saints fan was Leroy Whale, but don't think he made it to the first team, another one you couldn't get the ball off in playground matches.

So the reverse Ward-Prowse?

Saw Darren Anderton outside his parents home whilst I was doing my paper round ahead of the spurs game against us at the Dell in the 1998-99 season. Was star struck as a kid seeing an England international hanging about Oaktree Road, me and my mate I was with ended up asking his dad if he had any autographs we could have. Nowadays i’d probably just call him a skate bastard.

In response to Turkish I didn’t realise Aaron Flahavan was a fellow Bitterne Parker, and that his funeral was at St James Church, all kind of passed me by at the time. Didn’t Nicky Banger go to school there too?

The days of Saints players actually being Saints fans are getting more rare aren't they, I suppose that was always going to happen with the scouting system these days. Who was the last actual  Saints fan that made it big here? Wayne Bridge I imagine?

Aaron & Darryl grew up in Thornhill (Byron Rd). Aaron's grave is in Quob Lane cemetary.

I spoke to Darren Anderton once on a night out in Bournemouth. We would often see him out down here (during his Birmingham & Wolves days, before he signed for Bournemouth) and he said he would come back south to see family/friends, but couldn't drink in Southampton (as the locals see him as a Skate) and he couldn't drink in Portsmouth (as the locals see him as a Scummer - they knew he was a Saints fan). Thought it was quite funny at the time.

Charlie Setford Ajax youth goalkeeper born in the Netherlands to a Dutch father from Andover.

We can try him between the sticks in 2 years then when Banzunu is loaned to Norwich and McCarthy has shown he's still not good enough.
