Someone posted this on FB... "It just dawned on me that Ali Dia (53 minutes) has played more minutes in the Premier League than Mirslav Orsic (6 minutes).  I mean how bad can Orsic be?  LOL"

I guess that makes him ever so slightly better than Vegard Forren!

Selling good players and replacing them with players that are not as good has been a problem over the last 4/5 years. Quality has dipped year on year, to the point that our own perspective of what is a good or bad player has plummeted with it. Yoshida exemplifies it perfectly, fans ranted and feared the worst whenever he had to stand in for Van Dyke or Fonte, fast forward a year and fans were hoping he got picked as the alternatives were even worse! Now we are debating the merits of Jack Stephens for the Championship when a few years previously he was 4th choice and only worth risking for a cup game against lower opposition.

Poor recruitment is not just confined to Sports Republic either, Danny Ings aside, we have not bought a single player since Van Dyke who we have manged to sale for more than we paid!!

So much for the buy cheap and sale high model, the majority of the players bought, we couldn't even give away (Lemina, Boufal, Hoedt, Clasie, Martina,Pied,Carrillo,Gardos,Valery,Gunn).

The current crop of recruits may buck the trend, but previous poor recruitment has not been down to one owner or manager. Saints need a top to bottom review of the entire scouting network as our recruitment has been shocking. A club of our size and resources simply cannot afford to make so many mistakes in recruitment. Mistakes that have finally caught up with us.

It’s difficult to think how it could have been much worse. 12 of our 24 points have come against two teams. Had chelsea been anywhere near their usual selves and Leicester somehow managed to lose against us twice despite missing 4 sitters in the home game we could have been staring one of the lowest points totals ever. We have been absolutely abysmal.

Isn’t he already back in Croatia and has been for a while? Swear someone said that

I haven’t checked if he played for the b team or was in any training photos though.

In his first game, think it was against a lower league team in the cup, you could see that he couldn't even run properly. How has he gone from scoring a hat trick in the Champions League to not being good enough to start over some of our dross?

That cos we like our playmakers to not make play and just defend.

Rubbish clubs too and a Benross bag ffs! His shirt not being tucked in says he probably playing a municipal somewhere. Only guessing but I don’t think he’s a particularly good golfer!! Of course he may have just hired everything and could be a golfing god!

He isn't staying. We are simply looking to get our money back and have other teams interested. Zagreb's offer was likely a low one after their rhetoric about "the English team will have to accept he has fallen in value". If they have spent the £8M we gave them, that's their problem.

Blimey if we’re holding out for £8m for this waster we’ve got a huge hole in the finances somewhere! 😳

Zagreb made about £20m in transfer fees and spent about £6m last season. They have made a profit in recent years, but we ain't getting our money back from them or anyone else.

There’re no such things as rubbish clubs, it’s all about the set which works for you. Too many ‘all the gear, no idea’ types playing golf.

Don't think our club worked for him.

Saints considering Trabzonspor loan bid for Orsic, with the option to sign him permanently for €4.5m at the end of the season.

Is that this season with no games left or next season? Did they make the approach before the Liverpool game?

Would explain why his is the only shirt in the current Saints Foundation auction that isn’t signed….

Got to feel for the guy. ACL injury in training as soon as he gets to Turkey.

Now Trabs want to freeze his contract, and presumably not pay him?

That’s bloody disgusting if they freeze his contract. I wonder legally how that works given the injury occurred both on their property and whilst “working” for them?

I have no idea how Turkish law operates. I can only assume that it is different from ours.

Really feel for him, after the highs of the world cup he probably thought a move to the Prem was a sign he was going to progress and be an internationally renowned star. Gone from bad to worse for him since then.

I saw some clips of the World Cup earlier that involved Croatia and he was heavily involved, looked really good...we never really gave him any chance so makes you wonder why on earth we signed him.

I would have thought FIFA regulations would preclude anything like that….!

I do a little bit but then also remember he was supposedly warning £80k a week in his six months with us. Shame for him in some respects but he’s become a very rich man recently doing nothing
