Latest reports we are looking at Maeda from Celtic. Very quick and cool in front of goal. Presumably for wide right,

Welcome, looks a really promising signing. Shame it’s under the current cloud and with the current boss but looks a quality player all the same.

Of course, we still haven’t got the striker we’ve desperately needed for 10 months but that’s another story

Talented player. Quite a coup I think. 
he is universally adored by the Zagreb fans. 
And by the looks of it admired by many fans from other clubs. 
they are pretty surprised it’s us and at the fee.

Think this is a great signing for us at a great price. His European and international stats are great and he looks to be that fast, direct winger with goalscoring ability. Something none of our current players seem to have the combination of. 

I think we might actually punish teams on the counter with this guy and even more so if we sign a striker of the required calibre. Could also take pressure of us chasing that ball down after Lyanco hoofs it 😉

What a shame he isn't joining with 5 or 6 more points on the board and a more realistic chance of staying up. 

From his interview video he seems like a good character too.

Hopefully he has the immediate impact we did. Will be interesting to see where Jones uses him, perhaps in a front two with Adams? Surely not LWB...

Some interesting snippets, including:

Southampton officially announced their interest in Mislav Oršić a few days before the New Year . They gave him a few days to think and organized a video conference. And that's where they bought it.

"The owner of the club and the coach were there. They presented me with the whole story, showed me a video that really impressed me. They drew my matches and goals, showed me what I was doing well and what they expected me to continue. I was really blown away when I watched it and how studiously they prepared ," Mislav Oršić told us in an exclusive interview for Germanijak . He claims that this made his decision easier and that it was the turning point when he realized that he wanted to continue in England .

This will be interesting cos based on his normal position he will replace Eodzie which is classic southampton replacing our most promising attacker with a new player what about the righthand side and striker !!!

If Jones is still going hoof ball tomorrow then i am sorry Im done with him

There's a lot to be critical about the club atm but fair play to them, this looks like a very shrewd signing and the sort of flair player we've been crying out for since Tadic left. Still more needed of course but this is a good start to the window. I look forward to seeing him in action.

Good player, doesn’t fit Toby Steele’s recent comments, and our general approach to buying players recently given his age, but perhaps finally, the penny has dropped that having a decent football team is deemed important.

I wonder if before he joined, Jones showed him that powerpoint slide, with information of how he wants him to play, and what he sees in him? i’m interested as to what that role is.

Can't say i'm particularly enthused by this signing.

Maybe if we were less rooted to bottom i'd be more so.

Feels like one of those signings where 6 months from now we've ended up spending 8 million on a player who in the event(highly likely) that we'll be a championship won't play for us and will be foisted on loan somewhere with us paying a proportion of his wages.

Two problems with that:

  1. Most of them do give a f**k they just lack talent and good management.
  2. For another club to buy you, you have to look like you’re quite good and give a f**k.
