So, what are the solutions?

I’d play 4-3-3. Back 4 pick themselves (esp if Tino fit), I’d get an experienced gk on loan - maybe guy from Newcastle, if we can’t find another mid, post Fulham and based on Norway games I’d be tempted to put Moi there alongside JWP and Lavia, then 3 upfront with Osric, Edozie and a new striker which if we don’t get we will go down no matter what. If Jones wants to play hoofball I’d get rid of him immediately as it doesn’t suit our squad / club setup and won’t get us out of the championship. Plenty of options out there as others have mentioned.

We also have some really talented youngsters coming through who may not be Prem ready next year but will be Champs ready. At the point it’s clear we are going down lets have a bit of planning on a pathway and 1st team experience so we can hit the ground running next year.

What about the rest of the season with “largely the same squad”. From March on they lost 9 games, won 1 and drew 2. Included in that wonderful run were a 6-0 home defeat, defeats to 2 relegated team, 4-0 at Villa, 4 defeats in a row and a performance at Brentford which was as inept as anything we’ve seen this season. Ralph revisionism is alive and well

I think you’ve mis-read the context of what I was saying, I’m not sticking up for Ralph at all, I’m glad we got rid and it should have happened sooner. I’m sure something happened behind the scenes that caused that collapse in March.

What I’m saying is at one point last season this group of players were actually doing ok, before we nose dived off a cliff after the West Hsm cup match. That says to me that the right person is capable of getting a tune out of them, if they are given the funds and freedom to replace the glaring omissions of Romeu and Broja, and a system is implemented that plays to their strengths.

Aye. It's funny how people have selective memories when it comes to their judgement of previous managers...

Out of interest, who is “we”, brand new poster?

Your first post on this board a few days ago was this one, where you used “we” to describe Luton. Confused? Yeah, me too…

Kracken, I was born a Saint and lived in Luton 35 years. Watched Luton a lot and I rate Jones man management. Gets the best out of players and builds a good team. I think the hate and criticism is way to much. Been reading the forum and decided to join to add my view. Glad the Saints got a win today

If you’re a hatter .. get ya hat and coat and do one mush ! This is saints fans forum not a Nathan fucking jones love in!

for the record you’re ex manager is way out of his depth and should never been offered the job ..

The premier league is a different animal to league 1 and the championship and hoofball won’t work in this league.

Indeed, Jones inherited a pile of shit. He will keep us up just about

And like an toddler who isn't being monitored, he's picked it up and spread it over everything, all with a big smile on his face.

Funny old club. Should have moved RH on in the summer, but instead bought a stack of kids and asked him to make it work somehow. And then when it doesn't we sack him, replace him this bloke who has even less idea of what he's doing, and now when we're even more in the shit we're looking to get some decent, experienced players when it's probably too late.

Run like an airside BNB as some might say.
