Palace always seem to beat us nowadays anyway so might as well not bother following the match in any way shape or form. Then check the result next morning, while crossing your fingers that it won't be another 9 nil loss. That's what I'm doing nyway.

I'd happily take that if it's what it takes for the muppets in charge to get rid of Nathan Wigley.

It's nearing that time of the week where I think to myself, "They can't surely be that bad. Jones just needs a bit more time." Luckily, I have everyone in this forum to reassure me that they are, in fact, that tragic.

Will likely be more of the same under Nat, this time 2-0 or 3-0 to Palace. A great shame to throw away a potentially winnable third round tie - under normal circumstances.

Wrong competition. The Man City game is the quarter finals.

almost a bye for them, and Everton can look forward to a much needed 3 points the following week. And this is the new manager bounce, how bad are we going to be when that wears off?

I don't know, Everton have their own issues, the pressure will be on up there. We have been much better away from home and the SAints fans that are there will give a more positive support than the SMS crowd.

we live in hope Toussaint, but it's a sobering thought to recall that the last time we won in the league at Goodison was way back -  in the last century...

Might get an idea of which youngsters will feature once we've seen the B team line up for their game tonight.

Is there not a presser for this? Doesnt seem to have been one since Jones took over that I can see.

Was covered after the game the other night, there is a video of it on YT.

Seems they have done a lot of these over xmas, I guess it makes sense logistically as everyone is already there, but it does make it hard to know exactly when some of the quotes you see are taken from and also high emotions from the game thats just happened.

Difficult to know how to apprpach this game. Realistically given schedule, injuries and our league position we should be resting KWP, JWP and Adams but also Jones knows he so badly needs a win so will probably play them.

Another reason it would have been handy to have a couple of new lads in. Surely it was feasible to have signed Orsic on Jan 1st? He could have played both of these Jan games.

Plus we have a superb record at Goodison Park - I always expect us to win there.

You can’t fault my delusional  blind optimism!
I’m going, so I’ll be sure to let them know not to make me look foolish, that should do it   Apart from my delusion, my point was if Lampard is still there it could be every bit as toxic for them as it was at sms on Wednesday

Our best hope is a resounding Everton win to keep Lampard in a job and accelerate Jones' exit.

My hope is we get a good rogering in both cups games, forcing the board to finally get rid of the Welsh Wigley before the trip to Goodison, and then get a new manager bounce win against Everton.

Payne, Ballard and Jimmy J all played.

I know there was some frustration from the youngsters at not getting some minutes for the first team under Ralph. I guess with the pressure on it was highly unlikely than NJ would play any of them.

So far Jones has had a youngster on the bench a couple of times, maybe it will be Dibling's turn tomorrow. Doyle played today as well so that rules him out.

Is there likely to be a stream tomorrow does anyone know?

Otseh-Taiwo wasn't involved tonight. 19 year old right back.

Good call. Pity we're in such bad form because I don't think there's any option other than going strong tomorrow to try and get a confidence boosting win.

Otherwise we could have played a youngsters and had a couple more on the bench.

I guess with Bazunu (20), Lavia (19), Mara (20), Larios (18), Livramento (20) and Bella-Kotchap (21) all getting plenty of games, it' not as though we aren't giving youngsters a chance, but it will be nice to see a `home grown' player get a chance soon. Ballard and Jimmy J have been absolutely flying. I thought one of them would make the bench again this weekend.

This is what I am expecting. Palace have got their own issues with consisency. So a dreadful match and we bundle through 2-1 or something and then we are stuck with him until bloody Easter.

If we win I'll be buzzing. Some people are under the impression we're going down no matter whose in charge now and I can't see SR sacking NJ through pride, so no point wishing losses on the team. Do we know if Orsic can play today?

We all know when you’re struggling for form a game against saints is exactly what you want. Any striker that hasn’t scored for a bit is guaranteed a goal, any team guaranteed a win. We will lose, it will be awful, doubt we’ll score. Two or three nil loss

I just want us to get hammered so we can get rid of this clown 🤡

Am I the only one with such thought process 🤣

I'm not hoping for it but I definitely won't be too upset when it inevitably happens

Unfortunately it looks like there will be some streams for this one.

Does anyone know if watching Paramount+ behind a VPN (Australia) means we'd get Australia Paramount? It's only £35 a year and apparently show loads of English football on the Aussie version.

I’m hoping another spanking today will be the end for Jones. I’d take that in this game rather than the Everton one…allows us to bring someone else in for that one.

I have a terrible feeling he will pull of a result today and the clowns in Charge will see that as a sign to stick with him for even longer!

I've just realised we kick-off at 12:30pm, along with 5 other games. Why so many early games?

Edit: something to do with train strikes maybe?

Been like that since ESPN+ got the rights to show every game in the US from the 3rd round onwards.

Ah, ok, cheers (most unlike me to be behind the times and/or slow on the up-take!)

we’re going down anyways, what’s the point in hoping to be hammered in the only opportunity to win something. we should go for the cups.

Well a few of the squad spent Thursday afternoon playing golf so hopefully we haven’t worked on any sort of plan for this game. Which of course means more of the same from Wednesday night 😉

Jones does seem to love giving players time off.

Really think they'll sack him after losing 9 0? More like offer a contract extension
