I was really hoping/expecting our new striker to be available for this game. We all know how big this game is if we want to stand a chance of staying up.

We’ve needed a striker all season, why wasn’t one signed ready to join on NYD?! He should be available tomorrow. On the flip side, Forest’s new forward is available tomorrow.

This club is a shambles atm.

At this rate it will be like watching rugby soon.

There will be BBQ's in the car park, supporters all sat in with each other and when the game ends people will politely applaud no matter the result and comment that it was a good game on their way back to the nearest bistro before visiting a wine merchant on the way home.

all the lads in boot cut jeans and boat shoes or loafers?

Honestly, you didn't really expect it did you? Hoped maybe but expectation that this club will do something like that is deluded.

Only going for the light show. Will then leave the ground after that, shouting '#WeMarchOn' through the streets of Southampton and fill in my matchday experience survey when I get home no matter the result.

Hypothetical question;

Would anyone take a loss here if it means Jones is sacked, at the very least giving us hope of staying up.

or;

Get the 3 points but Jones remains, giving us absolutely no hope of staying up.

in reality, we’ll lose and Jones will remain. But it’d be interesting to see if any would sacrifice a loss for the greater good….

Forest have played 8 away games this season, scored 1 goal and drawn twice. Unfortunately, we always seem to be willing hosts for teams to break these bad records, a player on a goalless streak etc. we all know what's going to happen.

A bit like Bournemouth, we are obviously better than Forest.

If we don't win then Jones should be sacked 100%.

how are we obviously better than Forest?

Forest are above us in the table.

Entitled Saints fans, there. Part of the problem. We are not better than Forest. We are not better than any team in the Premier League, right now. Hence our position in the league. Simple as that.

You conveniently forgetting about the ‘never seen before light show’? it’s obvious they’re going to present the new striker for the game.

we’re not better than either. bournemouth dominated us when we just beat them earlier this season and are in about 16th. Forest have competed well so far and i’ll think they’ll pick up a few results later on. We have the worst team in the league, worst top flight saints team i’ve ever seen.

Play like the Fulham game (excluding the formation change when Edozie went off) and I think we could scrape it, say 1-0, but all signs point to a leaky draw, maybe 2-2 I reckon. I actually think Forest are in more trouble then us, but we so devoid of confidence our fragility is off the charts

depends who gets the first goal I think, will be an intimidating atmosphere (good and bad) like a cup final but a really shit one.

nah, Forest win home games and have a decent manager and have improved after a poor start. We dont win games at home, have a crap manager and are getting worse.

Keep it tight at the back, have a midfield, play as a team…

                          McCarthy

KWP.   C Carr.   B Kotchup.    Peraud

                              Lavia

S Armstrong.   JWP.     Edozie.     Djeneppo/Ely

                            Adams

About the best we’ve got. Which is not a lot sadly…..

Jones keeps going on about how his first priority is to stop leaking goals, so I predict he'll set up in a 5-4-1, grind out a grim 1-1 draw where our goal comes from a set piece, and he'll hail it as a fantastic result and a sign that we've turned a corner. Then we'll go on to get relegated with a whimper on 28 points.

Happy new year!

Blimey, seeing as though we're on only 12 pts at the moment where on earth are you expecting your other 16 to come from?

Bournemouth and WHU are equally bad. There's your three for the drop.

Thank you - as Saint Garrett pointed out Edozie won’t be playing cdm! Me concentrating on spacing it out rather than the order they’re in 🤦‍♂️

Absolutely no chance West Ham get relegated IMO. None at all.

It will be us, Bournemouth + 1, probably Forest.

Its bad enough that them down the road think they already have Agent Gavin here, they'd be in apoplexy if Agent Saggy Chops returned to us.

Take the 3 points, why would you do anything else??

Jones is here till at least the end of this month and I hope he starts picking up some points.

Jones is here for the long term, we've got to get used to it.
Probably means renewing the Pompey events before long

Why not, he’d be as effective there as Lyanco and Stephens and everyone seems to want them there

McCarthy confirmed as injured I think so almost certainly it will be young Gav in goal

We’re going to have to score at least two to win then.

Bazunu guessed right out of three options and saved a penalty so that'll be the justification for keeping him in. Who knows, maybe that penalty save will give him confidence and he will suddenly dominate the 6 yard box and make solid 5-7/10 saves.

Don't think it's much to ask.

FWIW, and for some inane reason that i cannot quite put my finger on, i think we'll beat forest 😅

But yes, agreed. total f'ing shambles!

We can't seem to score from open play and our defence seems to gift 1-2 goals a goal to the opposition. So, sadly 0-2 with the first goal being an own goal and the second coming from a set piece.

Saints row announce the signing of an obscure Argentinian striker during the light show.

Saints announce we tried to sign an obscure Argentinian striker but our offer of £7.50p and a packet of crisps was turned down.

To be expected I guess but it's probably going to be a bit sparse at St. Mary's tonight. No trains, poor form, no signings, school night, cash is tight and a  general acceptance we are going down, I reckon we could be looking at 24 to 25k. UTS 😇
