I'll do what I normally do and get to the ground 2 minutes before kick off. Wouldn't have had a clue about a light show if I hadn't read about it here.

Likewise, can’t say that it bothers me particularly. Unlike that incessant band, playing the same chorus of OWTS continuously for ten minutes at a deafening volume.

Normally arrive as they are wandering on. Was quite good at first but getting very repetitive now.

On the odd occasion I get there earlier I find the funniest bit of pre-match to be the video on the screens. The edited highlights of memorable recent Saints moments largely replays the same few goals from different angles because we don't have anything else to show.

Miles better than what we have and a leader. Plus gave JWP more of the game. Apart from that, yeah, limited.

Lavia is twice the player he is

We need to drop thus obsession of players suddenly becoming world class when they aren’t here

Romeu was slow and pondering in his final season and many of us agreed we needed an upgrade on him.. we got it, RLs injury couldn’t of been forseen

You don't need to be Nostradamus to predict an 18 year old kid isn't going to be able to play all matches in a season, and that a long-term injury was a high probability (exhibit A: Tino).

The club should've bought another DM to replace Romeu, not to mention of course a goal scoring front man which many of us have been screaming about ever since Ings left.

Lavia’s injuries have been excessive, but nobody should have been expecting an 18 year old to play every game of the season in about the most competitive position on the pitch. He was always going to miss a few games through form or knocks, the injuries have been more than that though.

The massive mistake was signing Maitland-Niles effectively as the spare holding midfielder when he is nothing of the sort.

There was fight in the team , so much better game than Brighton and the game could have gone either way . Love or loath NJ we need him to perform in the current weeks as he is OUR manager . I think the squad did try for NJ against Fulham with significant improvement . Personaly I would have kept Ralph as he has never run the team as a relegation prospect in his 4 yrs here . The people calling for Ralph to go now have there just deserts ... Saints were a relegation nightmare before Ralph and here we are one month later in exactly the pre Ralph erea again ... Ralph needed money and did the best anyone could do with the stock we have ... Every manager is destined to fail with the current board .

He wasn't slow and ponderous for most of the season. Yes we needed an upgrade, one to take us forward, but that doesn't mean we needed to ship him out, it meant we needed both for a season, we always needed an extra DM than what we had, Diallo was not the answer. No one thinks Romeu was world class, but he forged a very effective partnership with JWP, and it is clear from his performances in La Liga that he was nowhere near finished, he still had a role to play alongside Lavia and JWP, or filling in for Lavia when he was not available through injury. Free transfer at the end of 2022/23 was the sensible way to reward OR for his services over the years. Yes he wanted to go, but only after the Chairman of his home town club made a cheeky bid for him and Saints did not immediately knock it back as said Chairman expected. If you feel that you are not wanted you would look at your options. Terrible piece of business by Saints whatever way you look at it.

I was having a chat with someone today about how bad Saints PR/media postings have been for the last few seasons.

For signings, new contracts - very good, amusing.

But for the general season - awful, embarrassing. The training picks, the emoji of a battery the day before a game, the “plucky and unlucky” post when we’re beaten, again.

No idea what this light show is. But wow, once again, the club pick their moments. Do it when we’re flying high. Until then it’s bullshit no one cares about.

The board are primarily responsible for the mess we're in. Their failure to bring in a goalscorer, adequate midfield cover or an experienced goalkeeper are factors, as is their failure to replace Ralph before we inevitably tumbled into the relegation places. Saints were in relegation form for the last 10 months of his tenure. The nightmare didn't start a month ago.

Ralph cannot be absolved of blame for the position we're in. His baffling selections, terrible game management and 'too late to be effective' substitutions cost us points on many an occasion. Our terrible form and subsequent plummet second half of last season was unacceptable. This was with a team flying high in the first half of the season with the same squad of players and it wasn't the first time our form had fallen off a cliff in the second half of a campaign. Whatever changed, and it wasn't the personel, he couldn't fix. If it was a burnout issue, he had three years to adapt our game. That was on Ralph. If it was a motivation issue, that was on Ralph. Tactical naivety? Ralph.

He broke all the wrong records during his time here and in my view, the club were too generous giving him the start of this season to try to turn our poor form around. He should have gone last May.

He was injured before we sold Romeu!

Please can my wristband be connected to all our players on the pitch so that I can give them a bloody good shock when they are playing half arsed.

If they really want the fans on board a version of the Running Man would be perfect. Wonder what our stats would look like. Prudent to also attach one to Nat which detonates if he mentions ‘wonderful’ or ‘aggression’ in a press conference.

Like that. Could switch formation by adding DCC in place of Elyounoussi to make it a 5-2-2-1.

It's the fantasy football scout predicted team, and they're usually very close.

So when the rest of us are nicely settled and our food and drinks are nicely balanced on our knees, along comes you at the last minute to get us all up again, pasties landing upside dow on the bloke in front's head and coffee all down our trousers and our day's ruined but you think that's OK. Get a bit of empathy for the rest of us mate.

Never understood all this “he’s a 10, he’s an 8”.

He’s a centre mid and he’s crap 😅

Well yeah he is crap. Obviously JWP is not a defensive midfielder but is better slightly more advanced. So there clearly is a difference between the roles.

I simply cannot see us having the bottle for this match. Which is not very analytical, or indeed how I try to view football but thats how I feel.

I mention it in most of my posts, but the lack of being able to defend drives me mental. I know we need a striker but if we were able to keep things tighter, be able to eek out 0-0's for example which are probably worth 5-6 points a season, that wouldn't be such a pressing issue imo.

Instead we cant defend, meaning we concede in nearly every game and our poor attacking threat is enhanced because it's highly unlikely we will score more than once.

2-0 Forest is my prediction.

I keep seeing Adams (Che) for Saints lineups. Obviously with Armstrong the first name confirmation is required, who is Che Adams getting distinguished from?

No idea mate. Although Micky could do a job at what moment, and Tony would be an upgrade on Lyanco.

The club have gone to a lot of effort to entertain you, the least you can do is be in your seat at 7.15pm and take part in this groundbreaking initiative

Yeah, sorry mate. Will now rush back from work, bolt my dinner down, burn it to Woolston, run over the Itchen Bridge, push in the queue at the turnstile and leg it up the stairs to my seat to make sure I'm settled in my seat for the ground breaking show.

If  I've got this right they are trying to push sales of Kingsland seats on the basis that you will be able to be part of this "groundbreaking initiative" (as long as you get there early enough), but presumably the only place in the ground that you won't be able to witness this amazing spectacle will presumably be ..... the Kingsland stand. 🤔

To be fair light shows can be pretty amazing these days, I'd actually be interested to see what they come up with, but I doubt, even if I was going, it would be something to get me there any earlier than usual. Now if that magic wristband also included a free pint .....

bloody hell someone typing sense.Romeu was a great servant for the team but ,when it was time to move on and we have a replacement in place move on.We dont just become worse when hes not in the team overnight, its been in decline for several seasons and somehow someone needs to get this sorted out. Not wanting this to drag on we need some luck along the way.

The Kingsland won’t really see it, it’ll be side on view for the Chapel and Northam. So this is primarily for the entertainment of the players when they come out of the tunnel, the board  who can all smile and congratulate themselves at the spectacle, the families of the board and other club directors, and hospitality seated customers, and sponsors.

Solid work Saints, spending money wisely as always.

Forest fans insight with obligatory "got tickets in home end" posts we've come to enjoy

At this rate it will be like watching rugby soon.

There will be BBQ's in the car park, supporters all sat in with each other and when the game ends people will politely applaud no matter the result and comment that it was a good game on their way back to the nearest bistro before visiting a wine merchant on the way home.
