And no Lavia.....?

That's a concern. Hope he's not injured again, but it's prime cold/flu/covid season so it's entirely possible he's just ill and it's nothing serious.

The World Cup made me forgot just how bad our squad is.

Me too. I looked at the team and immediately thought FFS. Then I realised that’s basically our best line up. A depressing reality.

Relegation fodder, if the manager's looked at all our squad for the last month and decided that's pretty much the best we can do.

Ah well. Should be enough to see off Lincoln, you'd hope.

Not much in the way of alternative options though.

If he wants to play 3CBs then very surprising Caleta Car isn’t amongst them. Realise it’s the only part of the squad that has proper depth after 6 years of consistent transfer window fuck ups but even so, a surprise.

It’ll be close and Wednesday played Saints off the park in the first half last round but 2-1 Saints AET. That Saints XI is nowhere near good enough to feature competitively in the PL and the weakest top flight squad in our history but they’ll just about squeak through tonight. The Lincoln side that knocked Sunderland out of the play offs a couple of years ago would have been very dangerous tonight as they were a handy outfit.

So you think S Armstrong is not as good as Eli ? Lol And Adam Armstrong should be first choice lol ?

Lol all you like you weirdo.

I didn't say it was our best possible line up.

Just saying pleased it isn’t a bunch of kids and back ups, which of course it didn't need to be.

Think you had it right originally with just saying first choice, Elmo and AA would very much be classed as first teamers, they’ve started 12 and 11 league games between them and overall both are joint second in appearances made this season.

Oh goody more 5 at the back shite - I wonder if this is the Sport Republic way and it was forced on Ralph earlier in the season?

It’s 3412 I’d suggest. Jones played it a lot with Luton

I very much thought that was the case with Ralph earlier this year. I believe Jones likes to play with wing backs though, so maybe he sees this as the best way to do that. Hope it’s that simple.

Indeed. He's picked a team to do the job which should be a step up from a friendly but a competitive test ahead of an important league match on Boxing Day. That team should beat Lincoln and then let's hope we go on from there.

Key thing is KWP being back. When on form he's one of our best attacking outlets, the wing-back formation could suit him and we're begging for a good attacker at the moment.

Our best attacking wide players are our full backs. Encouraging them to be further up the field by playing 3 at the back is sensible.
