whelk Posted 10 November, 2022 Posted 10 November, 2022 Didn’t realise the games are before Christmas. Might be a little more excitement after the WC dross
Lee On Solent Saint Posted 10 November, 2022 Posted 10 November, 2022 Big chance to make the quarters here. Favourable home draw would be good for the new guy's first game.
whelk Posted 10 November, 2022 Posted 10 November, 2022 You can have too much of Dion Dublin’s homoerotic drooling over Rashford
JRM Posted 10 November, 2022 Posted 10 November, 2022 Dragging out some of the most boring punditry I've ever heard
LGTL Posted 10 November, 2022 Posted 10 November, 2022 No rush lads FFS, they’ll be interviewing members of the crowd next.
Kenilworthy Posted 10 November, 2022 Posted 10 November, 2022 It is clearly taking longer than expected to warm the balls of the top six teams 2 6

John Boy Saint Posted 10 November, 2022 Posted 10 November, 2022 Blimey the game will be kicking off in a minute 1
Lighthouse Posted 10 November, 2022 Posted 10 November, 2022 Last played them in 1996, it was also a home LC game. They got a 2-2 draw and took us to a replay.

Forester Posted 10 November, 2022 Posted 10 November, 2022 Great opportunity to reach final this year. City v Liverpool too
LGTL Posted 10 November, 2022 Posted 10 November, 2022 Shame it’s not away, would have been a new ground. But can’t complain. Draw is opening up nicely.
Pilchards Posted 10 November, 2022 Posted 10 November, 2022 So if Jonesy loses this one in his first home game he’s going to feel a right cunt!
macca155 Posted 10 November, 2022 Posted 10 November, 2022 Fourth-round draw Wolves v Gillingham Southampton v Lincoln City Blackburn Rovers v Nottingham Forest Newcastle United v Bournemouth Manchester City v Liverpool Manchester United v Burnley MK Dons v Leicester City Charlton Athletic v Brighton

Mixedkebab Posted 10 November, 2022 Posted 10 November, 2022 (edited) If we get through and avoid the winner of City/Liverpool and probably Newcastle we’ve got a cracking chance although I forget we are pretty shit Edited 10 November, 2022 by Mixedkebab Forgot we were shit 1

Remember it well somehow let in more people than seats , struggled in the game was lucky to get a replay , good draw good to have a cup run give the club a lift 1
JRM Posted 10 November, 2022 Posted 10 November, 2022 Home game after a 6 week break, can act as a pre season for the manager , chance to give players proper run out and get through, few days before Christmas, school holidays etc should get a decent crowd in. 2
John Boy Saint Posted 10 November, 2022 Posted 10 November, 2022 Shame it was the other way round always thought the name Sincil Bank just had something about it - but one to knock off the list before they moved. And visited the Christmas Market with Mrs JBS. Before someone pulls on their anorak and goes all MLG yes I know it’s currently the LNER stadium.
Saint Garrett Posted 10 November, 2022 Posted 10 November, 2022 Nice. Lovely draw. Nice for City to find Liverpool too. Realistically worse case it’s the following for next round if we manage to sneak past Lincoln. Forest Wolves Newcastle Man Utd Man City Leicester Brighton

People saying the draw is for the taking and in the end, it may well be 8 PL teams left. 1

The bigger teams field weaker teams too so always a chance. Good draw for us, lower league at home. Gotta be in it to win it. 2

Historically he's not had much of a squad outside his first XI though. In this case - First game in 6 weeks no need to rest players , possibly also have KWP and Livramento back by then plus not many players at world Cup. - First home game for new manager will want to start with a win build some confidence - few days before Christmas wants to make sure he gets his fair share of roast spuds at his Saints supporting inlaws a few days later won't want to upset them with a cup defeat. Get into the 1/4s and see who we get, might as well make a go of it once you get that far.
skintsaint Posted 11 November, 2022 Posted 11 November, 2022 Just had a flick at one of their forums, they actually seem confident to get a result. That's where we are at right now 😅

HarvSFC Posted 11 November, 2022 Posted 11 November, 2022 League One clubs aren’t having a World Cup break, whereas we’ll be restarting our season. That should hopefully be the only factor that causes the match to be a tight one. We just need to get to a semi final and hope the only other three clubs remaining are Football League clubs. It’s happened before. 🤷♂️
edprice1984 Posted 11 November, 2022 Posted 11 November, 2022 A League One side at home with a chance to get to the QF's should mean we take this relatively seriously. I feel far more comfortable and confident this being at St Mary's than if we had to go to Sincil Bank. Tricky ties for Leicester, Forest and Brighton too. I would expect one of those to lose. Hopefully City and/or Liverpool, Newcastle or Man Utd get drawn against each other (provided they get through) and then its simply a case of how much do you want to target the competition.

There was a Lincolnshire councillor a few years who openly said that he would like a few outsiders to know some of the locals and hopefully deepen the local gene pool!
Saint Fan CaM Posted 11 November, 2022 Posted 11 November, 2022 Couldn’t have asked for a better draw to be honest, especially with Pool and City playing each other. Big opportunity for NJ to make an early impression on the team and the fans at home. Bet it’ll be a sell out.

AlexLaw76 Posted 11 November, 2022 Posted 11 November, 2022 I have been to Lincoln. Quite nice and the cathedral is pretty spectacular
