Vancouver Saint Posted 12 November, 2022 Posted 12 November, 2022 Like the candour of Nathan Jones. Also that his wife's family are all Saints supporters - he will want to keep them out of his ear! Who knows about tomorrow...I'd be happy with a draw, ecstatic with a win and unsurprised if we lose. 2

I hope Nathan is a master of the dark arts, our players should be flying into every tackle like Boris Johnson did against that kid, the World Cup is coming ffs, we should go full Norman Hunter!! It's the perfect day and setting to reintroduce the infamous 'Alehouse Brawlers' to the world. Edit: before someone else points it out, realistically we'd end up with around 5-6 players left on the pitch - on both sides for different reasons. Edited 12 November, 2022 by alehouseboys I know, I know.... 1
FarehamSaintJames Posted 12 November, 2022 Posted 12 November, 2022 I was categorically told that a new manager bounce would mean we’d win our first five games from the “Ralph Out” brigade. So anything less than a 3-0 win is unacceptable. My guess is 3-4-3: Bazunu; DCC, ABK, Salisu; AMN, JWP, Lavia, Perraud; S. Armstrong, Adams, Edozie Hoping that Adam Armstrong and Aribo’s underwhelming performances the other night should see them at the back of the queue. Walcott should be ahead of them. 1

Harry_SFC Posted 12 November, 2022 Posted 12 November, 2022 Bazunu; Perraud, Salisu, ABK, AMN; Lavia, JWP, Aribo; S.Armstrong, Edozie, Adams. Tough call between Elyounoussi or Edozie. I don't rate Elyounoussi but can see why he would play in this particular game. Edozie played well on Wednesday night and does deserve a start.

Is there any chance the positive version of Charlie might return in the foreseeable future or has that member of the Charlie posting team been sacked for going off script? 1

davefizzy14 Posted 12 November, 2022 Posted 12 November, 2022 Hopefully the new manager bounce takes affect and we can get at least a point today. 1-1 Prowsey to score - COYR
beatlesaint Posted 12 November, 2022 Posted 12 November, 2022 Unless the new boss arrived with a striker in his suitcase I expect a standard 2-0 to Liverpool, plenty of effort but no end product. 1
for_heaven's_Saint Posted 12 November, 2022 Posted 12 November, 2022 Really hope NJ can find a position that gets the best out of Stu Armstrong. Easily our best attacking midfielder on his day but really gone off the boil. Hope to see him start in a more attacking role today. 1

I wanted Ralph gone because we hardly ever won and his tactics were boring and ineffective. I don't know what the new guy will do. Edited 12 November, 2022 by OttawaSaint 1

AlexLaw76 Posted 12 November, 2022 Posted 12 November, 2022 i want to see how long CBs taking long attacking throws lasts
Colinjb Posted 12 November, 2022 Posted 12 November, 2022 If Jones sticks to his preferred tactics, expecting a midfield diamond with Lavia in front of the back 4 and Moi or SA at the front.

I don’t think he’s chucked the diamond out first game away at Liverpool with 3 CBs on the pitch. Need actual wingbacks to play that system and we only have one fit to make the entire squad. 1

Will be a 352.......well more of a 532 away to Liverpool 😅
Colinjb Posted 12 November, 2022 Posted 12 November, 2022 1 minute ago, AlexLaw76 said: i suspect it is a back 3 with mo rwb Would also make sense. In hindsight better then my thought to have CC at RB.
goodymatt Posted 12 November, 2022 Posted 12 November, 2022 We haven’t really shown that 5 at the back can work other than one half at Arsenal. Think it will be a long afternoon, as always at Anfield these days for us and many teams.
Archers Road Stand Posted 12 November, 2022 Posted 12 November, 2022 Moi and Adam Armstrong should be nowhere near a PL starting lineup ffs. 1
washsaint Posted 12 November, 2022 Posted 12 November, 2022 Hopefully last time we see some of these players in a Saints shirt (thinking A Armstrong, Moi, and most of that disgusting looking bench)
FarehamSaintJames Posted 12 November, 2022 Posted 12 November, 2022 Delighted to see Aribo not starting, has been bang average most of the season. A couple of sparkly goals doesn’t make up for the other woeful performances. Ely starting is annoying but that said AMN was crap against Newcastle last weekend. Aside from that what more can he really do 🤷🏻♂️ Good line up all round!
skintsaint Posted 12 November, 2022 Posted 12 November, 2022 Think the BBC just made up a formation for us. Could be this 😅

OttawaSaint Posted 12 November, 2022 Posted 12 November, 2022 So something like? GB ABK. DCC. MS ME. SA. RL. JWP. RP CA. AA
Baird of the land Posted 12 November, 2022 Posted 12 November, 2022 Would have preferred Maitland Niles at RWB over Elyounessi 3
charliemiller Posted 12 November, 2022 Posted 12 November, 2022 Salah is gonna love caleta car and his controlling arms , gonna be whinging and moaning and throwing himself on the ground. Crock Henderson and JWP gets on the plain !!! Go boys

JRM Posted 12 November, 2022 Posted 12 November, 2022 Leeds recent win there was due to their keeper having a man of the match performance, is Bazunu ready to do that for us? 1
The Kraken Posted 12 November, 2022 Posted 12 November, 2022 Usually find that when the OS lists the team, the order is accurate to what the formation will be. It could be a 3 at the back, but I reckon more like it is actually DCC at RB and a version of 4-2-2-2. So, not ideal. I was hoping he’d make central midfield more competitive by going with 3 CMs in there but I think we can view this as a Selles team.

He jogs around a lot and seems to be a fair bit off the pace. Hopefully Jones can get him going and find the right position in the side as well.
OttawaSaint Posted 12 November, 2022 Posted 12 November, 2022 We need to do the same. Get fucking stuck in knowing that they won't want to get injured so close to the WC.
