Didn’t spot the one on McGuire though did it…

They can't have missed it, can only assume they decided as Maguire had his arm round the defender too it was 6 of one half a dozen of the other. Don't agree, but can't think of any other possible reason not to give it.

Yep, anyone who slags him off can do one, he's a decent bloke and this isn't the first time he's done something like this.

Do people "slag him off"? Or do they just not rate him as a footballer? Just because he's a nice guy and does a lot for charities and community projects, that doesn't mean everyone has to like him.

I'm not one of those people who don't rate him btw, I think he's quality but it's still a game of opinions.

I don't like how he throws himself around on the pitch and wish he'd focus more on his footballing ability. Winning free-kicks should not be seen as a priority in my opinion. But what I just watched was brilliant, fair play to him.

But he doesn't JUST do that. He goes down a lot yes but he contributes a lot more. The way he glides up and down the wing is thrilling at times and besides, if he dives over to win a penalty that wins England the world cup, are we going to moan? Remember our country's one and only world cup so thus far has been won thanks to a goal that really shouldn't have stood.

I won't moan I'll be too busy crying my eyes out if we win, but I really f*cking hope he doesn't. I hate diving regardless of who does it.

Wrong. England won 4-2 not 3-2.

Because W Germany were so high up the pitch pressing for an equaliser because a goal was incorrectly given for England. Everyone is STILL whinging about the goal that didn't get given against Germany in 2010 despite that game ending up 4-1 - The reason was because at the time, it would have brought the game back to 2-2 and who knows what would have happened.

Perhaps they would have been high up the pitch pressing for a winner anyway? Who knows, if it hadn’t have been given we might have scored 3 more? The fact remains that we won the match 4-2 and the officials were happy that it was kosher. The same happened in the Argentina game. We can whinge about the Hand of God all day long and perhaps the result would have been completely different if it hadn’t been given, who knows? It really doesn’t matter. Both goals were given and the rest is history.

We have grumbled and excused ourselves for years about how poorly we fare in World Cups because they come at the end of a season when all our players are knackered.

With this World Cup not even at the halfway mark of our season, with our players just about bedded in for the season ahead and at their peak, was today's performance an indication that England might benefit very well from the timing and actually perform at a much higher level than we are used to seeing in the World Cup?

It wasn't only Iran either, they are a decent and stubborn side with a great record coming into this tournament yet we brushed them aside with an ease that we rarely have seen from our national team. In the past, chances are we'd have ended up with a 1- 1 draw.

If today's performance is anything to go by and they can keep it at this level, surely we must in with a. great chance of winning the trophy.

Koeman was the worst for pandering to players by calling them by their surnames with a Y on the end of it. Longy, Reedy, Taddy...

Standard football practice. Need a nickname? Just stick a Y on the end of the name, or if that doesn't work try an O. So imaginative.

Even with a completely gutless, spineless manager?

Grealish is a decent bloke. Flash yes but got time for people

Taken from mainstream media in the Mendy trial so in the public domain………Not sure the GF of JG thinks he’s a decent bloke all the time!!

The next day the woman, 23 at the time, sent a text to a friend saying: "Ha ha ha I have slept with Jack Grealish", the jury heard.

Her friend replied: "Oh God. Lol. What the f***. OMG. Proud of you. He was good lol?"

The woman replied: "Yes, very good."

Another message read: "Yes he has a girlfriend" followed by a 'sad face' emoji.

Ms Wilding asked if she was "boasting" or "flexing" about what she had done.

"I wouldn't say flexing," she replied.

Andries Noppert. Think he's 28 and about 6'8". Plays for Heerenveen.

Bit late to this conversation but he nearly quit in lockdown to become a police officer because he got let go by a previous club.

He eventually got picked up by Go Ahead Eagles and then Hereenveen this season. He's had a very weird career, slightly helped internationally by Netherlands not really having any particularly good keepers.

Weren't we linked with Ampadu once? Luckily we never signed him because he is awful. I know it's Wales but I'm surprised he gets picked.

We’ve been linked with every player under the age of 21 (at the time) for years. 😅

Would gladly take McKennie though if he can remove the Pogba-esque hair styles from his game.
