Interesting you say that because in the 5 minutes before the goal everyone on here was moaning about us just hoofing it forward.

Newcastle weren't hoofing it though. Just quick ball and one time passes.

Just caught the tail end of the half. Mo's miss at pace, after a really good move. A wasted looking delivery from JWP. Stu looking involved in a lot. I'll read the comments later, to see if that was our best couple of minutes or not. 🙂

Big chance for Moi to equalise. Should have done better really.

Overall it's not been too bad a performance. Certainly a big improvement on last week's first half display at Palace anyway.

Such fine margins. I thought Newcastle's goal lucky. Moi unlucky. That was an incredible team move by Saints.  An independent observer, knowing nothing else about the league, would say the two teams about equal... not at opposite ends of the table.   We'll need a bit of luck, but could still get something from this.

Should be 1-1, horrendous miss.

We're obviously squeezing play by pushing defence forward. Not trying to play out from the back. Direct balls forward and pick up possession from there. Better than the way we played first half at Palace that's for sure.

Stuart Armstrong stand out player in the first half, good to see Lavia back on the pitch.

I missed the first 15 minutes.(so maybe we were good then but i doubt it)

Since i've been watching we've been utter garbage with exception of move at end of the half where Moi(who had been exceptionally bad) missed a proper chance.

Wtf was AMN doing? Seriously what was that???

Wtf are the CBs doing? In what world is it a good idea for both of them to charge out a balls they'll never win and leave the full-back 3-on-1? Maybe it isn't just a Bednarek problem because this happens every single game.

Forum's fucked. Probably for the best.

Truly inept defending for the goal. Both CBs sold themselves, then Maitland-Niles put on his clown shoes...

Elyounoussi missed an absolute sitter.

We've not been awful. But there's no quality. Walcott predictably invisible.

Newcastle much more dangerous going forward.

Can we muster a rousing second half come back? Not optimistic.

I think some of you are really underestimating the technical ability involved in MoEly's miss. You try hitting a ball 2 feet over the bar from 2 feet away, it is not easy to do

We are so lacking quality in our attacking positions.

Just not PL quality.

It's a lack of vision that's the biggest issue. We make some really good runs but they get ignored.

On a side note, what happens to that rule that the flag stays down until the attack plays out when we're the ones going through?? Last game the lino put his flag up straight away and it turned out to be onside, just happened again and it was tight.

another game where we would be winning if players had enough quality to finish. This happens to the best players in the world, i get that, but if it keeps happening, it's a trend.
