Dusic Posted 24 October, 2022 Posted 24 October, 2022 Its the last day of the season and Saints face Steven Gerrard's Barnsley needing a win to stay up in the Championship. Into injury time and with the game stood at 0-0, Olly Lancashire wins a tackle and hits a seemingly aimless ball forward which the Barnsley defenders make a total hash of... and Saints no 9 is clean through on goal. Who would you most fancy to hit the target and secure safety for Eric Black's men? Papa Waigo, Guido Carrillo or Adam Armstrong? 1 3
Colinjb Posted 24 October, 2022 Posted 24 October, 2022 Waigo would have been offside, Carrillo would have been outpaced by a defender....... Armstrong is your man most likely. 2
Dusic Posted 24 October, 2022 Author Posted 24 October, 2022 Papa for me...luckily no VAR as he looked a tad offside.
SNSUN Posted 25 October, 2022 Posted 25 October, 2022 What a way for Carrillo to stop himself being branded Saint's worst ever big money signing. One goal and he'd be mentioned in the same breath as Stern John. Could I have Henri Camara instead? 😁 1
Kenilworthy Posted 25 October, 2022 Posted 25 October, 2022 Waigo might have done better in the modern era of VAR as many times he was given offside when he wasn't

FarehamSaintJames Posted 25 October, 2022 Posted 25 October, 2022 The squad we had when relegated in 2004 was huge!
Miltonaggro Posted 25 October, 2022 Posted 25 October, 2022 It's all well being cynical, but if a scientific way to amalgamate the attributes of all three players into one was possible you'd likely have a four goals a season striker. 1 3
beatlesaint Posted 25 October, 2022 Posted 25 October, 2022 I'd have brought on Bradley (I'll never miss a one on one with the keeper again) Wright-Phillips by then so its irrelevant. 😆 NB - for those too young or cant even remember him he DID miss his next one on one, and every other one after it whilst at Southampton.
