I voted Perraud but could have given it to any of the back four/five. Baz put in some excellent saves, Lyanco and DCC gave a lesson in sh*thousery (I’ll bet 75% of other fans watching on Sky are saying, "we’re too nice, why can’t we play like Saints against the big boys instead of rolling over." Etc). Salisu did nothing wrong either.

Mo Ely for me was outstanding and my choice, but Lyanco a very close second. You can see why Lyanco is becoming a fans' favourite, his attitude is 100% brilliant, and as others have said he seems to raise the whole team with his whole hearted (and slightly nutty) efforts (and he has some ability). I also thought his throw-ins were very good, including better long ones than Salisu into the box.

Lyanco for me. I’ve only seen him live 2/3 times but he’s been good each time, so i’m always surprised by the stick he’s had. He’s pretty quick across the ground too, he bombed down the right in the first half at one point. Also thought DCC was impressive, no nonsense and a proper defender, the sort that other teams seem to have and we haven’t recently - doesn’t mind some pushing and pulling but is always trying to win the ball.

So am I, for some reason a number the SWF intelligentsia  set against him early on. We have been desperately lacking character in the team for a long time, he provides that.

It felt like as soon as people read some Torino fans saying he wasn’t very good, they’d made their minds up. He’s been our best player away at Chelsea in the cup last year, and at home to Arsenal in the league yesterday - not bad for a £7mil back up CB.

Won't get a better 4th choice CB. Proper cult hero already tbh.

Some fans made their minds up on him because Torino fans said he was crap, and then he had a bit of a mare on his debut away at Sheff Utd.

But more than capable of stepping in, gives his all, and gives us a bit of physicality that we lack throughout the squad.

OK, who voted for Theo ?

Moi and Perraud were the outstanding performers, and Stu. Caleta Car on another day (another ref) would have given away a few free kicks, Lyanco was lucky to be on the pitch after Nketia had swapped shirts with him. It was good to see some players who have been getting some stick from people on here showing up well, I actually think Perraud could become a bit of a cult hero.

If the players are savvy enough they’ll play to the tolerance levels that the referee has established early in the game. They’ll push things as far as they can without going over the line.
