Obviously the only way it was going to go, those three get three points and we get nothing.

Even Nottm Forest showed a little backbone yesterday, what happened to us giving the big guns a hard time at home?

I don’t usually worry about us dropping away, but this season is starting to look it, we don’t have any attacking integrity about us.

And look at the players who have scored today;

Ings has 2, Bailey, Tielemans, Barnes, Rodrigo

It is quality we don’t seem to have this season

Stu is doing well to keep the ball and buy us a little time.

Fuck sake JWP. Bad place to lose the ball there. Real lack of options I should add. The formation kills us offensively.

Brilliant. A prolonged period of just passing it sideways and backwards, and as soon as we inevitably give it away they get through and have a shot on goal.

This is beyond turgid to watch. It's fucking pathetic

Absolutely fucking dire, no cohesion no fight no idea no pride, fucking disgace and it stems from that ego driven clueless twat in charge, along with the other prick Semmens they borh need to get out of our club

Oh look!! Villa sacked their clown manager and now they’re 3-0 up in their very next game, but here we are still bungling along with this fucking clown!!

Agreed, the sooner we get rid of Ralph, the sooner our £30m strikers can get back to banging in goals.

I know it’s only 0-1 but we are such a nothing team these days it already feels like game over. Can’t remember supporting Saints ever being so depressing. Atmosphere awful as well

Saints always look like a newly formed team in their first match.

What's your name again? Dave? Have we got 3 Daves?

Nah that's Trevor!

Thought he was Tony, Stuart's brother?

Who's Stuart?

It’s hard to make a case for us staying up this year.

I really can’t pick out three teams that are worse than us technically and have less fight.

on this path, we are very much going down.  It is clear to see when watching most of our games.  Saying otherwise is being a bit deluded

We could pay the price for not signing enough experience or a decent striker

Don't worry, you won't have to. We won't.

Just thinking the same. Fuck knows what they do in training, they look like they’ve never played together.

I know Arsenal are top of the league and everything, but we just look awful. So passive, sloppy passing, our captain barely involved. Looks like we have the referee on our side at least.

we've improved a bit and put a few passes together and even got a shot off...that's how bad its got. I'm trying to defend us with "we got a shot off".  Still, hope springs eternal. Come on Saints.

Looking for a positive we are at least making it a scrappy affair and have broken up their momentum and free flowing play. If we can get a bit of confidence to string at least two passes together could be a more interesting match.

Thankfully the case for staying up isn’t constructed solely on your performance against the team top of the league, with your five best players injured.
