Saint NL Posted 19 October, 2022 Posted 19 October, 2022 Jesus, that was close. Why aren't we wasting time?

Saint_clark Posted 19 October, 2022 Posted 19 October, 2022 Wow. Saints fans actually get a decent chant going for Djenepo to "wonderwall" and then drown it out with "ohhhh moussa Djenepo" 1
AlexLaw76 Posted 19 October, 2022 Posted 19 October, 2022 How the fuck does Stuart Armstrong not start a game? 5 2
Saint NL Posted 19 October, 2022 Posted 19 October, 2022 If any of our players could shoot we'd have won this comfortably 1

Jonnyboy Posted 19 October, 2022 Posted 19 October, 2022 Maybe, just maybe, there are three teams in the league who are worse than Saints. 1 1

If he was a 9/10 player every week he wouldn't still be at Saints. His form and confidence will return. Probably trying everything to regain both but sometimes that can be part of the problem too.

Saint86 Posted 19 October, 2022 Posted 19 October, 2022 (edited) Has to be said that was a good/tough battling performance from the team. Especially given the injuries and low confidence. Rode our luck a bit but made good subs to turn the game around and deal with the injury to kwp, had far and away the better chances and really should have scored another 2 at least. Che, perraud, salisu and bazunu all did really well from the starters. Stu added a lot when he came on. Car looks decent. Hopefully the injury to kwp isn't too bad. Hopefully we can use this as a springboard, but eitherway, we have arsenal next and this is a much needed 3 points! COYRs. Edited 19 October, 2022 by Saint86 2
Mr X Posted 19 October, 2022 Posted 19 October, 2022 When we absolutely have to win we can .... Let's hope we can do this in our potential relegation battle 2
USaint Posted 19 October, 2022 Posted 19 October, 2022 Terrible game and management again but a very welcome 3 points. Adams absolutely bossed the Bournemouth players. Pleased for Bazunu who finally gets a clean sheet even after a mistake near the end. Confidence of this win will help the players. 2
Saint_clark Posted 19 October, 2022 Posted 19 October, 2022 Well we needed the three points. Now we need improvement in performances. 3
Saint Matty 76 Posted 19 October, 2022 Posted 19 October, 2022 A terrible 2nd half but to their credit, they played out injury time brilliantly. What a weird fucking team we are. Start. Stuart. Armstrong. 1
BotleySaint Posted 19 October, 2022 Posted 19 October, 2022 We actually got better as the game went on. Marginally better. I'd still sack Ralph. 2 1 1

davefizzy14 Posted 19 October, 2022 Posted 19 October, 2022 Three massive points, get in! Che was superb tonight 2
Turkish Posted 19 October, 2022 Posted 19 October, 2022 Well it wasn’t pretty but a wins a win. Saw it out quite nicely in the end. Bournemouth shockingly bad. Adams rightly man of the match. 1
Sunglasses Ron Posted 19 October, 2022 Posted 19 October, 2022 (edited) A win? A clean sheet? What is this sorcery! Edited 19 October, 2022 by Sunglasses Ron 1
obelisk Posted 19 October, 2022 Posted 19 October, 2022 Saints were excellent in the last 10 minutes. Kept possession well but still missed a couple of good chances for a second goal. 1
CB Fry Posted 19 October, 2022 Posted 19 October, 2022 Honestly that is a win of a relegated team. Absolutely fucking dreadful against a terrible opponent. 4 1 1

Jimmy_D Posted 19 October, 2022 Posted 19 October, 2022 Gerrin! Hard fought win there, but we were able to close it out professionally there. 1
Toadhall Saint Posted 19 October, 2022 Posted 19 October, 2022 Well done saints. Che Adams ran himself into the ground 👍 2

Whitey Grandad Posted 19 October, 2022 Posted 19 October, 2022 Well bugger me backwards with a barge pole. A clean sheet! And a win
Master Bates Posted 19 October, 2022 Posted 19 October, 2022 2 GAMES UNBEATEN, WE HAVE GONE 2 GAMES UNBEATEN, 2 GAMES UNBEEEEEEAAAATEN, WE HAVE GONE 2 GAMES UNBEEEEAATEN 2
jasonb Posted 19 October, 2022 Posted 19 October, 2022 Something to build on. 4pts in last two. Glass half full here. 3
Saint_clark Posted 19 October, 2022 Posted 19 October, 2022 I wish we'd stop doing that hand holding celebration until we're actually playing well consistently. 2
Saint NL Posted 19 October, 2022 Posted 19 October, 2022 Wow, three points. Overall a pretty horrid performance, but some encouraging signs at least. The game management towards the end was surprisingly good. Che is very important to the team, there's a huge difference when he's playing well. His hold up play is superb. Much needed, well done lads 👍 3
obelisk Posted 19 October, 2022 Posted 19 October, 2022 Ralph always manages to pull off something to keep the sack at bay.
DT Posted 19 October, 2022 Posted 19 October, 2022 Good news: 3 points. Bad news: retain terrible manager. Ah well. Small victories. 1 2 2
Sheaf Saint Posted 19 October, 2022 Posted 19 October, 2022 The subs made us much better but Bournemouth had burned themselves out by that point. Did well to play keep ball and see it out for the last 10 mins though. Very welcome 3 points though, even if it does paper over the cracks a bit.
Colinjb Posted 19 October, 2022 Posted 19 October, 2022 Regardless of result, we were sh*t. This reprieves Ralph and prolongs the agony. Don't let 'success bias' cloud how dreadful we were. 2

Toussaint Posted 19 October, 2022 Posted 19 October, 2022 Not the cringe champions league celebration , nooo

Dorchester Saint Posted 19 October, 2022 Posted 19 October, 2022 A win and a clean sheet is very welcome, but let’s not pretend it isn’t just papering over the cracks, we were terrible for large parts of that. Attack me if you like, couldn’t give a toss. We will lose more than we win with this clown in charge RALPH OUT!!
qwertyell Posted 19 October, 2022 Posted 19 October, 2022 Win's a win, no matter how shite. Very welcome clean sheet. Don't know who's playing RB against Arsenal if KWP is out and AMN club tied. Might have to go three at the back and hope Djenepo can fill in at wing back - or give Lewis Payne a baptism of fire.
SNSUN Posted 19 October, 2022 Posted 19 October, 2022 Still averaging a point a game, it was a big win. A shit win, yes, but a very important win. And a clean sheet! 1
Baird of the land Posted 19 October, 2022 Posted 19 October, 2022 That was pretty pathetic. Especially in the 2nd half where for the bulk of it we contrived to avoid having the ball. Fortunate that we came against a championship standard team. S. Armstrong was excellent when he came on. Surely there has to be a place for his quality on the ball in the starting xi. Adams MOM. Worked extremely hard, got his goal. He's no Ings/Lambert but he's a solid premier league attacker and has to play 90 minutes if fit until we invest properly there. No clue what we'll do without KWP. Larios looked lost when he came on. I don't fancy seeing Elyounessi play there again. A decent team would have exploited him more than once. 2
The Juice Posted 19 October, 2022 Posted 19 October, 2022 Obviously glad of the three points but another result Ralph will live off for the next three months now.

StrangelyBrown Posted 19 October, 2022 Posted 19 October, 2022 Will done saints ground out a result - hopefully we can take some confidence from that. Substitutes were absolutely bewildering, but we got away with it. Hope stuey starts over aribo against the arse. Bournemouth really are proper shite though. Very difficult to judge us against them.
Convict Colony Posted 19 October, 2022 Posted 19 October, 2022 Maybe start the subs in the next game 1
AlexLaw76 Posted 19 October, 2022 Posted 19 October, 2022 What a much needed win, with a fucking terrible performance. Daylight robbery really, we were that bad. I will say, the players left everything out there, but we are going to get absolutely rinsed by Arsenal. Adams MoM, Perruad good as was Salisu. Stuart Armstrong never starts, which is incredible really Ralph OUT 2
