Well whenever I ask the "Ralph Out" brigade who they want, they go quiet but that's the option they seem to go with.

Who? I've not read one post suggesting Dyche as a replacement for Ralph.

Open 15 minutes in the Scotland Ukraine game and Armstrong looks instrumental. Adams looks better in a Scotland shirt.

Although when Steve Clarke held his first training session, they got into the final third and wandered about aimlessly, having lacked instruction on what to do in such circumstances. 🙂

Do you actually pay to go to our games?

It’s a sport, not the fucking opera. The result is the be all and end all of everything. That’s the problem with our club, too many noddy supporters like you. Seems like you act like a customer, not a supporter.

You have never been so wrong. You will never understand ‘The Beautiful Game, El Rey de los Deportes’.

All football clubs are businesses. Only a few can make money by winning trophies. The rest make money by selling something that people want to pay money to watch. Not supporters who watch their games on Teletext, or it’s modern equivalent.

Adams and Armstrong both hauled off on 75 minutes.  Played well creatively but both are too wasteful and could do with 1000 hours of shooting practice.  Adams looks like he needs a severe beasting on the training ground.

I think we're looking at two different meanings of the word mobile. I accept that he covers a lot of ground and has a fantastic engine. However, I was meaning that he is not mobile in terms of the speed he gets about the pitch.

My original JWP " mobile " comment was referring to the distance he covers in a game, and the old adage about a player

"covering every blade of grass " is close to the truth.   Agreed he doesn't have a lot of pace, but his passing accuracy is much greater

than many of those who run full pelt everywhere - and can't make a decent  5 yard pass.    ( Grealish and Rice should take note).

Yeah but the football was crap or something. So say those who now want to appoint Sean Dyche...

Agreed the football was dire at times, but finishing in the top 8 is better than struggling in the bottom 8,

but you should expect that when you appoint a former defender as manager.

Like Koeman and Pochettino?

Regardless of his shirt number few people would honestly call Koeman  a defender.  If you study his stats, you'll see that he scored more goals

than many so-called, established international strikers of his era.  He knew about defending, but his attacking tactics were well thought-out.

Pochettino was pretty aggressive himself as a defender and had nothing to lose, his main task was stop up losing, and shore up a very leaky defence,

and most of his buys reflected that.  The likes of Puel and Pellegrino were dyed-in-the-wool defenders who rarely crossed the half-way line, and their

tactical ideas shaped the teams they managed.

Did he pay for his ticket to watch the game??

I so wanted him to have a good game but he was appalling. Weak, lazy, uncreative. Not good enough to play in Premier league.

Yeah, you can see why Moi has been playing, Stuey looks so poor atm.

Drop them both and give a youngster a try. I still hope we see Diamond Edwards at some point this season as when I've seen clips of him in the B Team he's looked electric - but of course we still have Edozie and Djenepo that could/should step in. Moi is completely ineffective - and AM should be able to assist and score on a semi-regular basis and he usually does neither. I'm not sure what's happened to Armstrong but he's not been right for over a year. We definitely need another AM in January almost as much as we need a striker. The fact that Walcott has been on a lot of our benches this season says it all.

another one rumoured to have had a fall out with Ralph. Was the best player for us in 20/21 season, then disapeared off the face of the earth start of 21/22 and not been the same since.

https://www.footballfancast.com/southampton-fc-news/stuart-armstrong-premier-league-southampton-manchester-city-performance

Their second goal is an example of why I have never been a fan. A rare time he had the ball, he drops his head and drives forward (which is why some seem to like him) but then does his usual of giving the ball away cheaply, in a dangerous position, no determination to recover and they score.

Passively watching games with a couple of unsuccessful runs a game is not Premier league standard.

5 assists over theast three seasons for an attacking midfielder.

He is not good enough and starting him will get us relegated!

Sorry to rant but struggle to see why anyone is defending him.

Someone on game thread had him playing well???

Even Ely did more in his short time yesterday (not saying that's the level we should aim for, but he is a better player!)

He’s just not very good, like most of our attacking midfielders.

Every season I say it but we haven't had good AMs since Tadic. I have higher hopes with Aribo long term, and now we have Edozie on the books, maybe those are the two we should be starting.

There is maybe four or five players in that squad that I would class as being Premier League quality:

JWP, ABK, KWP, Salisu and Lavia has started very well. Would probably include DCC and Tino in there albeit recently signed/injured.

Some are decent - Adams puts himself about but doesn't score enough. Bazunu is promising but doesn't inspire me with confidence. Aribo looks like he's started well but I must admit I haven't watched enough of him to make a judgement.

As far as I'm concerned the rest can go. Stu Arnstrong is overrated. Diallo, Adam Armstrong and Elyounoussi just aren't good enough.

We will be bottom five again, bottom three if there is no change in tactics and manager, and to an extent some of these players.
