Antonio now up for sale according to Sky, if it’s power and pace Jones wants !

Or was it just against Saints that Antonio use to like unplayable.

Chelsea will probably come in for him

It does seem rather odd, that we're signing another left winger.

Assuming we are going to stick with this 4-2-3-1 then maybe Adams is seen as the 1, and then we are going to get players in and around him, making runs past him.

But we've already got Djenepo, Elyounoussi, Edozie, AArmstrong who would probably "choose" to play left of a front 3, and we've just signed Orsic and thats his position.  Add into that Jackson, and I'm a bit confused to where he fits in tbh. Edozie, Elyounoussi and Djenepo go to an option off the bench, I'd be surprised if Orsic hasn't been brought in as a starter.

Hopefully not in him, to be honest.

Glad to be honest. He doesn't look anything special at all. Need to be aiming a lot higher.

5 goals in 22 games in the Championship. The strikers we already have are better than that.

Known by Rasmus for his time at Midgetland who we lost to in the Europa League that one time. They call him "the taller danny welbeck"

Ohhh thats perked up my day. Unless we sign him of course and at that point my day will dive off a cliff.

To be fair you can see him hobbling after the first tackle. He did look like a mix of George Lawrence and Ricardo Fuller

Rather strange as he was staying in the Potters Heron and stormed out after we charged him for breakfast.

Nathan said he would pay it for him but it never changed his mind. He started muttering he was going to Bournemouth instead.

Time to let this one go!

This window has gone how many predicted so far. Leaving things for a striker very late, leaving the striker that does come in less time to get acquainted and actually make a difference to our season. Concerning that we haven't really been linked with many proper strikers and the ones we have been are a step down from the 20-30 million bracket that is required. I'd rather we signed quality over quantity.

Antonio would be brilliant

He would also be expensive, I’d imagine. He’s still got 18 months left on a contract signed last year with an option to extend for another year. Can’t imagine West Ham have been paying him buttons, The Times reported that his new contract was an increase on his previous £70k a week. He’s also 33 in March.

If West Ham would entertain a loan then it might work, but I can’t see Saints going for it otherwise.

I find it hard to believe that they would sell to a relegation rival, let alone loan him to one. Can’t see this one happening either.

Antonio is 33 in March and is on the decline hence West Ham replacing him.

We are seemingly signing a striker, Nicolas Jackson, who has played as a striker in most of his apps this season for Villareal.

We also have signed Orsic who will add a significant goal threat based on his recent record.

Not quite sure what some expect...we will end this window having spent upwards of £30m without any major sales, just like in the summer. That would have been unheard of in the Gao era.

Rarely gets a game at Leeds these days, and now Leeds have spent a shedload on a new import, he will get less time. CHDAJFU?

He is probably the most injury prone player in the Premier League

Most people expect us to spend a decent amount on a proper striker to replace Ings and latterly Broja. We failed to do it last January, we didn't do it in the summer and we haven't done it yet in this window, preferring instead to concentrate on players who play on the left for a reason known only to those in charge. We need a top striker, we've known that for over a year now.

I think traditionally he’s class as a winger, and he’s only scored two goals all season. So if we’re signing him as a striker then bloody hell. 😂

Pretty sure he hasn't played due to multiple injuries. If he's fit Leeds aren't selling.

It's not spot on though. For the last year loads of people have banged on about getting in a proper striker. Everyone agrees and then when it gets near the end of the window it's "we did get a striker in" (Mara in the summer) or now "what do you expect?" It's bloody obvious what is expected, it's the same thing that's been expected for ages and it's not an unreasonable expectation, particularly because failing to act could send us down.

An interesting snippet - if only from the perspective that Everton cannot afford him... 🧐

If its come from his agent/Udinese, it implies someone is sniffing around.

The next link on that site is 2hours old and says Everton are also after Zapata on a loan with option to buy.

Beto or Zapeta just strike me as panic, pay over the odds type signings. If that’s who we’re in for I’d rather we waiting until the summer for that certain striker.

Neither if then would stick around if we went down, they’d bigger off back to Italy or Portugal. Just screams of Carrillo.

I wouldn't! What we should have done is signed that type of striker in the summer. The fact we didn't doesn't then mean we write off the season and potentially get relegated. We still have a chance to save our season and the time for proper investment in the one area that we badly, desperately need someone is now. Not the summer.

Suggesting that hes available for around 26m, then why are we throwing 20m at Jackson

Perhaps because nobody else wants him. It seems that if another Premier club also wants a player we are after, we give up and let them have him. I guess that's because we are bottom of the table with a limited budget and don't feel we can compete with the other clubs. I can understand why other clubs don't want Jackson though, as he's only ever scored 2 goals in La Liga and none for his country so he's hardly likely to solve anybody's goalscoring problem.

I get all that. However, Jackson doesn't seem to be the goal scorer we desperately need. He also doesn't look the centre forward type that seems integral to Jones style. He looks like a winger who sometimes plays through the middle.

I'm the first to have a pop at people feeling entitled and having unrealistic expectations, but we've been desperate for a proper striker for ages and expecting one is entirely reasonable.

Not sure you can make the comparison with Carrillo who was a managers choice, late in the window when were panicking and who had a crap goal/game ratio.

We've been linked with Beto for a while, has been reported as our 'primary target' and has a much better goal/game ratio.

As for the relegation point, if we only signed players who wouldnt be at risk of leaving us after relegation then we wouldnt be signing very good players

Im not suggesting we go for him. He’s crap. I’ve always thought he was crap.

That One Direction reject always acted like he was bigger than he was as soon as he got to the Prem.
Just satisfied to see him moving to a farmers league. 😂

That is all. 👍🏻

cut-price Conor Gallagher, he is

Agree, I think we should wait for a top quality striker available for a reasonable price.  If we can't do it this window then we should do it in the summer, or the window after that, or the window after that.  There's no rush and better than spending the going price for a striker in one of the top leagues..............
