We deserve everything we get this season. In a way I hope we go down.

Have the chance to sign a a top, top player and we blow it because we've refused to offer €2 million more. Yet we spent more money on an 18 year old kid from Man City who had never played a senior match.

Just goes to show they are in it for one thing only.

Please tell me you don't mean money. Because it doesn't mean that at all. They'll make far more money staying in the PL.

IMHO I don’t believe we are actually in for Orsic any more than we were in for Gakpo.  These are PR exercises to string the fans along.  I expect nothing more than loan recalls and loans.

Of course we were in for Gakpo...

But if ( when ? ) we go down, how will those 'speculate to accumulate' promising youngsters become worth more than we paid for them ?

We, the supporters,  don't deserve it, it's the buffoons and snake oil salesman running the show that deserve it, but it won't matter much to them. We'll always be here, they will bugger off and cause their mischief elsewhere at some point. May they rot in hell

I'd imagine they are hoping Nathan Jones will pull off a miracle and keep us up.

It's so exhausting following any transfer on twitter, 99% of it is nonsense. It's on, it's off, it's on, it's off, they want £2m more, no £1m more.

No one will have that level of detail into any deal, it may still happen but watching these things unfold on twitter will send you crazy and fill your mind with lots and lots of inaccurate rubbish.

True. Guess so many people are tuning in in the belief that their club might have done something to strengthen before the most important clutch of matches in our recent history. But we're absolutely glacial at the moment

Yes, that’s how negotiations work between two clubs. What would you have offered them?

true. I was in a Ferrari garage earlier and some geezer came in dressed in a mcdonalds outfit, covered in grease and oil, he asked them what's the best price they could do on an F8 Spider, he smiled, got out a fresh £20 note from his overall and said, "will you take this as the first months installment?"

We get this frustration virtually every Transfer Window....High Hopes followed swiftly by abject disappointment. You would genuinely think that with the situation that we are in and how we were apparently burned late on in the Summer window, that we would have had deals ready to trigger on 1st Jan...but no...this is Saints. I have been supporting Saints since the 50's and a ST holder since mid 70's and I am getting to the end of my tether with it all. I have been messed around by the club with being kicked out of the seats that we had since SMS opened, we are bottom of the league with no obvious urgency to be able to sort the squad out to remedy this........and in the current financial climate the entrance fee is not good value for money.....although I may change my mind after the light show tonight....but I have a feeling that it will be followed by another shite show. It would be better to pay somebody to stick pins in my eyes. I am seriously wondering if my days of attending SMS are numbered. Watching the odd game on TV in comfort from home is becoming more and more attractive. I can sit and wallow in the many, many happy memories from over 60 years of watching my beloved Saints, when it was run by people who actually cared about the club.

Mind you, two or three exciting signings and a surge up the table and that will all probably change!!🤣

Have you stopped by the league table recently?

Ah yes, that'll be it. If only we could get back to finishing 8th. Throw in a cup final as well and I'm sure our fans will be happy as Larry with that.

I usually agree with you but feel like you’re arguing over principle now

Orsic ticked a lot of boxes, we apparantly had personal terms agreed… Id of paid the asking price

We can’t afford to haggle

Talksport know the square route of fuck all about how our transfer negotiations are going.

Not convinced Moffi is the answer by the way.

Is that not our own fault though?  In these days of instant messaging/twitter/forums etc rumours are spread around like wildfire. It's down to us whether we choose to believe them or not and human nature being what it is we believe the ones we want to be true. There's been nothing from the club to confirm or deny interest in any of the rumours discussed on here, so we've got no-one to blame but ourselves if we end up disappointed when certain players don't end up joining us .  Oh for the good be old days when the first we knew of a transfer target was when The Echo told us they'd signed.

Agree though that in general,

when we can all see certain areas need strengthening we'd have a right to he disappointed -if not folded arms, scowling face, season ticket handing back, downright furious - if no-one is bought in.

He's put his colours to the mast on this one.

We aren't negotiating from a position of strength, every club in frigging Europe will look at the league table and know we need to do something and they'll know in what positions. Dicking around over a couple of million for a quality proven experienced player who could come in and make a difference straight away strikes me as insanity. As others have pointed out, we've paid that for young kids who have barely played a game this season. Mental.
