Can't argue with any of that imo. Gives fans the reassurance that they're alive to the issues and are on it, but tells sellers that we won't have their pants pulled down.

What would you like him to say? Let me make it easier for you - what would you say?

I don't have a problem with him thinking or saying the players are good enough. What annoys me is how the spin from the club is that we are "confident" of getting someone in. Like in the summer Ralph was "confident" of getting someone in. We all knew this should have been sorted out at the beginning of the window, but here we are at the end of the window, still trying to look for the cheapest deals possible.

Bielsa wanted to take charge of Everton's u21 team and train them up for a championship battle next season.

bold GIF

Doesn't seem like a terrible idea, especially for the state Everton are in, basically a giant reset on the club. They have a squad of bloated first team players, a lot of them older, that have consistently failed and will be on huge wages. If they don't fix it, they will be in a similar position next year even if they stay up, relegation might shove a lot of these players away and allow them to rebuild.

With the parachute payments and making sure you have wage drops etc. and sensible signings, relegation is not the end of the world like the media like to predict because you drop out of the 'hallowed land' of the PL. I mean look at Burnley, looking likely to bounce straight back up, new manager, completely changed their style of play.

Yep. The only real issue will be if we get no one in and they continue that line. I'm fine with him keeping up a pretence for the media and morale but no one seriously believes that's the case.

So you are now ok we are not in a panic?

Some fun speculation

I know these are fan accounts but they go from varying extremes. JustSaints seems like it is written by a child and a month ago was arguing with fans on Twitter that JWP hadn’t played badly all season (this is before his recent run of good form). 😅

Looks like we are still trying for this guy, would be happy with this signing if can bring him in.

And didn’t this account get called out for bullshitting and faking sources last week and resulted in a number of people being blocked when they called it out. 🤣

Seems to be repeating what this chap says this time around?

Time is running out, that is a certainty. But, the one little thing keeping the glimmer alive is, this next fixture is around boxing day usually due to the world cups delay. Had this been a normal end of Jan, then say goodbye. But, there is still a chance. The fight this year will be brutal looking at who's down there.

Time to start embracing the fear.

This guy looks ideal wonder if he’s on our radar? Kind of signing a European club makes and then sells on for millions!

Keylor Navas loan deal to Forest according to Fabrizio.

That would be a mental transfer

Need a GK, so simply go and get one, an experienced one, not a L1 rookie from Accrington, or Skatesmouth. It can be done.

It's quite simple. But beyond those running our club.

That's the problem. We put in a low offer, which gets rejected. Rather than immediately up the offer, we just leave it on the table thinking they will take it on deadline day. In the meantime, another club come in, offer an acceptable price and get the deal done. We are not the only club out there. We must know what they want for him. Then come in just below that, offer it, see if it is accepted. If not, offer the asking price. Hope we stop trying to get a cut price deal. Instead, we need to get the players we want. January doesn't lend itself to bargains.

It's like you were in the room.

Aribo apparently at a transfer crossroads about whether he should leave this month acc to 'Southampton FC Update' citing Daily Record. I think he's been bang average after an exciting start. Looks like he doesn't give a toss.

I never thought Aribo would be that good anyway but his signing was a strange one because he didn't fit the profile of a typical Ralph kind of player and neither does he appear to suit how NJ wants to play.

I don't actually think he's that lazy but I do think he's too slow both in terms of reactions and in general.  Kind of player that would excel in a slower paced league.

Probably should hang about then

Seems Sulemana is the one we want. Very pacy, different to any of our other players and his dribbling stats are excellent.

No real goal record and some injury concerns though.

For 20m we aren't going to find some kind of superstar goalscorer so presumably they feel with some different attributes it may help to create a higher volume of chances, which would certainly help although obviously they need to be taken.

If we were to sell Adams we would certainly want at least £20m which kind of highlights our problem.

Lets hope we get Sulemana done if indeed he is the primary target.

We're selling Che? Please be true. Would be like getting a new striker

Whoever we get - assuming we do actually get someone - will no doubt have been our 'No.1' choice all along...

Yeah saw that and thought the same thing. But don't think so.

Everton have 40million more for a striker now after Gordon sealed deal for Newcastle, as well as Dyche. Think that's them way safe, and us even more down. More decisive action by other boards while ours sit twiddling their algorithms. Pitiful.

Everton are perfectly set up already for Dyche.  They will be fine

Given where we are, what's your best case realistic scenario? For me it's Sulemana, Antonio and Hjulmand or whatever his name is would seriously improve us.

Agreed. Would be unbelievable. Personally think we'll fail on two of those. If it had to be one in for me Hjulmand would be the one. We need a load more solidity in the middle.

God, wish we had Dyche instead. Been saying so all season.

Everton wanted Biesla. He was their #1 but talks broke down after he made somewhat bizarre requests on the structure (source The Telegraph). Everton had already set themselves a deadline of Friday to have a new manager in place hence Dyche. #dontpanicmrmainwaring

Gordon for £45m shows you can still fleece teams even when you’re in a sticky spell. Bang average player that falls over more easily than Djenepo.
Amazing what being English can do to your valuation.

I can’t see Adams leaving now, equally I don’t see a striker being brought in.

Sulemana would be a great piece of business, very highly rated in the French league and only 20 years old! We can add him to the pile of LW’s we already have. Urgently need that striker!

Was he ever going? Not sure I've seen 1 link to him leaving. He isn't going anywhere.

We ain’t getting a striker- we are getting someone who can play across the front - the club have been saying this for ages.
