I'd always assumed that medicals were fairly rigorous and standard through football, but you  have to wonder if Jackson would have failed our medical given how many times we seem to sign crocks, and players needing time to get up to speed.

Looks like Villareal knew about the problem which was why they didn't want a loan deal. Seems that with Jackson and Ings we've escaped expensive medical problems.

I'm happy buying a back up who is cheap due to being near the end of his contract. On a motoring forum recently I saw a comment about Tesla potentially losing its premium car rating due to becoming cheaper. Obviously some people equate price with quality, and I haven't done that from years before the signing of Carillo!

Probably end up with Elijah Anuoluwapo Oluwaferanmi Oluwatomi Oluwalana Ayomikulehin Adebayo at this rate

Ali Dia, Augustin Delgado, Dani Osvaldo, Carillo, Juanmi, Tommy Forecast - we’ve signed some absolute crackers.

Sure this the whole point of signing Bree. Clearly since NJ arrived the situation with Tino has got worse. I would suggest they think it unlikely now that Tino will play any significant part this season. Therefore with only 2 specialist FBs in the squad (ignoring Vokins and accepting AMN does not want to play there) we need some cover, not a starter, someone who can do a job. Jones knows Bree and trusts him and fee is minimal, sounds like a good idea all round. Has no impact on the signing of a striker.

Trouble is, I don't trust Jones' judgement. After all, he felt he could do a job in this division when he took the managers job.

Set your mind at cheese guys, James is a Brie-lliant back up who knows Jones ‘tactics’. We just need to come to cheddar and support the team to feta times.

Always thought we should have signed Roquefort Santa Cruz back in the day and always loved Peter Stilton until he went off and got all political.

I’ve not listened to his recent BBC Solent interview, but supposedly Ankersen is taking full credit for this window.

Not sure why he’s taking none for the summer. Absolute fraud.

At least he’ll have nowhere to hide after we’re relegated and he chose not to buy a striker or a goalie with five months of a season left.

My only question is, When's Lee Dale signing? He's the lad who curd keep us up.

Maybe, but it would have eaten a lot more out of our budget that everyone here is saying we should be using on a striker. I'd have preferred a LB but KWP can play their and we have no other fit natural RB so it makes sense. He's cheap, low risk cover. For the post above that said he was crap at Villa, that was 4 years ago when he was only 20/21. Quite feasible he has improved since then. I think we should be sending AMN back to Arsenal if we can.

I think Onuachu is off to Frankfurt.

Exactly nail on the head. J breezy ;) is fine with me, gives us cover at fullback and is a player jones obviously knows and trusts… cheap as chips and doesn’t put a dent in our transfer budget, much better then going spunking 10m plus on a fullback when we have a quality striker to pay for as priority, what’s not to like really ?

not sure why people still want a dm? Seems to me lavia diallo Alcaraz and jwp is plenty enough for midfield now that’s actually a quality first choice three mids we even still have amn if really down to the bones..

a bit off topic but think we need to give Orsic the cup games to get him up to speed, agree it was a poor debut. But my guess is he just needs to get up to pace he’s got far too much pedigree to be a total flop, you don’t score hatrick vs spurs, and goals vs Chelsea, and the beautiful goals vs West Ham and morocco if you don’t have something about you, he is the best finisher we have atm so worth getting up to speed and perservering with.

Seen James Bree play numerous times..there’s a reason why we’re paying 500-750k regardless of his contract situation..I don’t feel he’s premier league quality, would love to be proved wrong but can’t see it..postives are good delivery (takes pretty much all set pieces) and very rarely injured played 82 games in the last 87 for Luton

Yeah,  I thought Alcarez was pretty good against Newcastle.  Orsic didn't do much but too early to judge that and on paper looks a decent signing.  Bree kind of makes sense and I'll judge him when I've seen him.  As you say, it's the striker that's the problem and outside of Beto there hasn't even been that many names that seem at first look to get excited over either.

Watched Sampdoria v Udinese on a trip to Italy at the weekend..obviously just one match but Beto was non existent didn’t catch the eye, got subbed off whilst still 0-0 against a struggling sampdoria team so from that performance would probably fit in nicely here! great to see Gabbiadini again however!
