Che Adams linked with Everton again as they are desperate for a striker.

Honestly I reckon 95% of us would offer to drive him to Merseyside for his medical even if it means missing the semi final game vs Newcastle.

Would be good to get him and AMN out and replaced with two better options.

What is with the hate for Che on here ATM?? Prolific he ain't but he's still our best striker, yet he seems he's being made a scapegoat for the shit we're in.  It wasn't that long ago he was dominating Bompey when we won there (and it's fair to assume we wouldn't have won without him there), and he has 8 goals this season

He certainly was good in that game.

He's scored 4 goals in 19 League games. He's scored 24 goals in 115 league games for us. Just for comparison, Shane long scored 23 in 96 in his first four Prem seasons (not for us mind you).

He hasn't signed a new contract. He has 18 months left.

Isn't that just a default position based on how many minutes he's been given?

Thank you. Still think Ings would have been a fab (re)signing, just think we need to look beyond football based on him (or somebody like him). And yeah it's nice to see the club being even more hard-headed than me about the CF position..

Che Adams I’m sure will leave at the end of the season, he’ll only have one year left.

Same as Stu Armstrong, I think he’ll go.

AMN can bigger off now, what an absolute waste of space he is. No wonder no club ever wants to keep hold of him.

Adam Armstrong I think will leave but only be loaned out, his wages are probably extortionate for a player of his ability.

Mo Salisu, like Che, only had a year left, can’t call whether he’ll run down his contract or leave for a fee but the club should look to cash in now. His form has dived the past twelve months.

I can see there being a large clear out this summer. I imagine some of the youngsters like Watts, N’Lundulu etc will be released, they’ll never be good enough and are simply taking up wages.

No thanks. Whatever che’s Limitations are in terms of finishing, he’s still better than Mara. Plus we should never sell to a relegation rival.

To be honest I’m not sure he is that much better than Mara - somewhat different players anyway. If we were offered £30m for Che can you see the club turning that down? If we can pay £20m for an average winger, I think it’s safe to say Che would command at least £30m in this window.

Surely relegation would cost more than £30M so yeah they'd have to turn it down at this stage unless they are resigned to relegation

It's mainly his truly terrible finishing ability, which is basically what he is paid for. That and being pretty slow these days and wandering off side a lot. Personally think we are better without him in the team, although he COULD still be a decent foil to a better striker.

The exact reason why Everton want him is the reason why we're struggling to find a replacement. There isn't much better out there for teams in our position

What bit don’t you agree with?😉

With so little time left on his contract and the potential for 1 or 2 new attacking players coming in, I could see the possibility of Che being sold at a profit, especially to Everton. I’m not certain he would actually provide that much more certainty of safety from relegation - look at where most goals are coming from lately and Che just doesn’t seem able to get his shooting boots working consistently at Saints.

nah, just asking. He's been injured and then pretty poor for them, so I thought perhaps he might need a fresh start. Swap deals don't really happen.  Far too complicated.

Everton fans seem to have list faith in him. The most recent post on the grandoldteam forum www.grandoldteam.com/forum/threads/dominic-calvert-lewin.115797/page-225

about him :

"If someone pays money for him on current form I'd suggest they know very little about football."

He's a bad footballer. His purple patch coincided with having a world class manager in Carlo Ancelotti and coaching from Duncan Ferguson, who had a similar playing style. His highest scoring season without Ancelotti is 6 in 35. Two more than Adams currently has. Also more concerned with dressing like a woman and "breaking stereotypes".

Fair enough. Definitely not wedded to this as THE solution, just think he offers slightly more than Che, hypothetically. Beto would be my absolute ideal.

I've looked back at DT's posting history (yes, I AM that sad) and can't see any posts eulogising Beto before we got linked to him. A little odd, maybe, for a player that is the most "absolute ideal" player for us. I can only conclude that DT is a club scout masquerading as a 'make it up as you go along' merchant on here to mask his true identity. Fair play to him as he's pretty much nailed the buffoonery persona to be fair. There aren't many on here who have the talent to keep up such a pretence for the length of time he has. Bravo to the fella, I say... ;)

it’s rather odd as I’ve asked him 3 times what he knows about him to make him “ideal” most of us hadn’t heard of him until 3 weeks ago. He’s not responded each time

It's looking increasingly likely we'll be enduring the normal tortuous last day desperate scramble to get deals done. Sky will have a reporter at the ground and frequently ask him for updates and he'll waffle on and attempt to generate interest by making out that deals are expected. Eventually all the lights will be turned out at St Marys with nobody signed and fans asking if we can still do loans. Then the club will announce that we had been close to a number of deals but not able to get them across the line but are very happy with the business we've done.

In a window where rivals have nabbed all the players we've been linked to, it's satisfying that we nipped in ahead of Chelsea's bid for Bree, forcing them to their back up option. 🙂

I've heard they pulled out of the fight as they thought he should have cost an awful lot more, but Luton stuck to their guns and refused to budge on price.

His pashun for Nate's aggressive style made all the difference in what many will soon call a coup for Saints, while Chelsea fans will wonder what might have been. 🙂

I imagine Lucas Moura will stay around London, unless a big team pays out for him. I imagine he’ll end out at a Palace or Fulham given their decent form.

Never seen Beto play in my life. I doubt many on here have, aside from YouTube clips.

Always best not to base opinions on FIFA ratings. 😅

This season the board have made the wrong decisions and at the worst timings on a few two many occasions.

This season will be costly.

Wonder what Markus thinks. 😢

I didn't see your last post as I don't eagerly await them and don't find them interesting. It's basically because of his pace and power. i can't offer you 'intel' beyond that because it is gut feeling and I am not a scout. Sorry for expressing that in a football forum where people express opinions. Have you been round for tea at Trousers' house or are you the same person? Wow, didn't realise this got people so 'angwy'. Boo hoo.
