I recall this guy reportedly rejected Saints and Everton as he didn’t want to be in a relegation battle. Are we really less attractive that Rennes?

Does this free up Sulemana to move now?

Is it possible that not every player wants to play in England?

Cover for Livramento who obviously is not going to play much/any part in this season. Low cost will do a job and not be too upset when Tino comes back. Seems sensible to me.

I've got as many doubts about Jones as the next punter, but why would an underwhelming back up like Bree be starting ahead of a class act like KWP anytime soon.

It was a bit tongue in cheek, but I wouldn't put it past him doing that. Seems to like fucking around with the fullback positions.

Who is today's striker that we won't bid anywhere near enough for? I'm going for the Bristol lad - £303,007 and a packet of Wotsits.

FFS. some people. This isnt rocket science.

We have 18 games and Tino is still not an option to cover RB / RWB

We are spending £750k on someone that NJ trusts to cover that role if KWP gets injured or suspended.

Marvellous, many of us remember where we were when Lee Todd signed.

I can also remember when we signed Graziano Pelle because of Ronald Koeman.

Not sure why signing a cheap cover player who the manager knows the attributes and personality of is being seen as such a bad thing. Unless of course you are looking for any possible reason to slag that manager.

If Bree comes in, starts every game and is awful then of course criticise. But he is clearly being brought in aa cover due to Livramento being injured and iur huge reliance on KWP.

Two big differences surely - Pelle had just scored 50 goals in the past season (Eredivise) and Koeman had a stack of credibility as a player and Manager prior to linking up with us.

Same as Bree playing in a defence that is one of the most frugal. Your comparison is as flawed as mine. If he gets a run out let’s judge him then.

Well yes. Koeman was right that for the need, (main striker to replace Lambert) Pelle was the right player.

Maybe Jones is right that for the need (full back cover, who will possibly not play a huge amount), Bree might be the right player.

There is no reason for Jones to sign someone that he knows will not be good enough for what we need. Hence why we havent been linked with any other Luton players.

-------------

On Semenyo:

- Looks two footed, some great finishes off both sides and means he is unpredictable for defenders as can drive inside or outside whereas all our forwards are very one footed

- Seems strong even if not really tall, brushes players off quite easily

- Used to the physicality of English football so less adaptation time potentially than a player from Europe

That's right, but probably a better analogy would be Paul Telfer or indeed Lee Todd.  Pelle is clearly a different kettle of fish, as is Koeman.

I take your point - I suppose I trusted Koeman's judgement and credibility much more than I trust Jones.   Also, I see RB cover in the January window as right down the list of importance and need.   After all, there is Lyanco, AMN and even Ward-Prowse.

We've gone from Koeman signing his mate Pelle, to Pelligrino signing his mate Carillo, to Jones signing his mate Bree 😂😂

We March On.

Cheeky loan bid for Cenk Tosun on deadline day, followed by the traditional “We tried our hardest” splurge. 😂

We should be scouting League One strikers in prep for the Championship next season, see who’s ready for the step up. 🤪

It shows how low some fans expectations have dropped when people are applauding your post. It seems that people are now willing to accept anyone rather than someone who's shown themselves good enough. Sad times imo.
