Lighthouse Posted 1 September, 2022 Posted 1 September, 2022 I haven’t seen much of him but I’m guessing the plan is to play him next to Lavia with JWP further forward. Can anyone elaborate on this?
S-Clarke Posted 1 September, 2022 Posted 1 September, 2022 He's a good player, adds to the profile of player we've added this summer - athletic, quick, physical etc. The added bonus is that he can cover wing back if required, but I imagine we'll primarily use him in CM what with Romeu gone - but he does give us some great depth all across the middle third of the team. A clever addition imo. 2 1

Couldn’t tell me his best position though, which is either a good or bad thing depending how you perceive it 😂
SNSUN Posted 1 September, 2022 Posted 1 September, 2022 Strengthens CM and RB mainly. Hopefully a good signing. Should go straight in if Lavia is out against Wolves.

davefizzy14 Posted 1 September, 2022 Posted 1 September, 2022 Quality addition. Welcome onboard Ainsley 1
The Kraken Posted 1 September, 2022 Posted 1 September, 2022 Saints are the double barrel champions. KWP, JWP, ABK, now AMN. Get SKD, MLT and SRL out if retirement and we’re winning the acronyms.
Dan Johnson Posted 1 September, 2022 Posted 1 September, 2022 Very happy with this. It’s a quality addition to the squad 👍🏻 1
hypochondriac Posted 1 September, 2022 Posted 1 September, 2022 Pleased with this signing. With another cb in that will be the defence sorted for this summer.

farawaysaint Posted 1 September, 2022 Posted 1 September, 2022 He’s got a fair amount of International and European experience at 25 and is versatile I guess? Solid loan all things considered, I am excited to see him work.
Verbal Posted 1 September, 2022 Posted 1 September, 2022 Anyone checked out AMN's penalty-taking? Quite something.

eurosaint Posted 2 September, 2022 Posted 2 September, 2022 I know quite a few Arsenal supporters and having asked their views on him, they were all very positive 👍 One guy in particular (whose judgement I respect) says that he really has been mucked about and under-used by recent managers so hopefully he'll do a good job for us.. His versatility should be a major plus as well !! Good window.. Good signing...
AlexLaw76 Posted 2 September, 2022 Posted 2 September, 2022 Brought here to challenge in full back positions? Seen he is No.3 (yes, I know that does not mean IS going to play at the back)

Francis1947 Posted 2 September, 2022 Posted 2 September, 2022 I have a good friend who has been an Arsenal season ticket holder for many years and in a chat with him today, he confirmed what others have said on here about Maitland-Niles. That he is a big, strong, effective player who had been messed about a bit by Arteta. It seems the two had disagreements on how and wehere he might pay and he seemed to have fallen away on Arsenals books. I think he could be a very important signing for us as he adds some physicality and athleticism and can play in mid-field as a defensive unit and aslo cover both full back positions. It looks as though Lavia will be out for at least 6 weeks with a hamstring and the obvious thought is that this guy can go straight into the sdie at Wolves to take his place. However, knowing Ralphs previous reluctance to select players who have only recently joined, I'm not too confident that this will happen. We shall see
waylander Posted 2 September, 2022 Posted 2 September, 2022 This mirrors what my Gooner nephew said. Sounds like a massively good buy.
Saint_clark Posted 3 September, 2022 Posted 3 September, 2022 He might end up not getting enough game time to want to sign for us permanently, although I'd hope Ralph would learn from his overusing Lavia and rotate a bit more once he's back to full fitness. With 5 subs we should be looking to make one at half time every game to give players a decent rest on a rotational business.

Gurj Posted 3 September, 2022 Posted 3 September, 2022 Yep. Don't know much about this guy, but fingers crossed he is as good as some say If Mara can score some goals this season, then we could be a top ten side. 1
Saint_clark Posted 3 September, 2022 Posted 3 September, 2022 15 minutes ago, Lighthouse said: 4.5 games? 🤨 He's 18 years old playing his first senior games. We burnt Livramento out from using him in a high intensity system with no rest as well. 1
Barsiem Posted 3 November, 2022 Posted 3 November, 2022 Some in depth analysis on his impact is on the Echo website. some of the Echos coverage under their SaintsPlus scheme is pretty good! https://www.dailyecho.co.uk/sport/23099854.maitland-niles-showing-saints-aim-permanent-deal/
Turkish Posted 27 December, 2022 Posted 27 December, 2022 about time he had a song, i'll start us off If Maintland-Niles can play for England so can I If Maitland-Niles can play for England so can I If Maitland-Niles can play for England, Maitland-Niles can play for England if Maitland-Niles can play for England so can I 3
