Suhari Posted 9 November, 2022 Posted 9 November, 2022 Are the team trying to dissuade Jones from joining? 10pm tonight, Jones to RA: "Cheers mate, but I think I'll leave it. God bless." 7
sydney_saint Posted 9 November, 2022 Posted 9 November, 2022 Real battling underdog performance this to pull a goal back. Still got another 45 minutes to weather.... 2
Master Bates Posted 9 November, 2022 Posted 9 November, 2022 Nathan Jones to go down at half time and have words? Can he so that?
Harry_SFC Posted 9 November, 2022 Posted 9 November, 2022 If Edozie gets regular game time he could be a superstar. Our best player so far by a country mile. 1
derry Posted 9 November, 2022 Posted 9 November, 2022 That hotch potch of a team looks a clusterfuck in waiting. McCarthy does his near post get out of the way so I don't get hit in the face act. Giving him a new contract is a nonsense. So far 63% possession 3 shots , SW 37% possession 10 shots. I'm glad I can't see it. We can always bring on Walcott and Elyounoussi to rescue us. JWP must be revelling in it passing back to McCarthy and vice versa. At least he remembered to put the penalty away.
SNSUN Posted 9 November, 2022 Posted 9 November, 2022 Nathan Jones? We'd be lucky to get Aled Jones as our manager at this rate...

Miltonaggro Posted 9 November, 2022 Posted 9 November, 2022 Rasmus should have rigged Nathan up to a monitor whilst he’s watching this to gain further data on his anxiety/blood pressure/ heart rate. Would be like a remake of Scanners in the last 10 minutes.

beatlesaint Posted 9 November, 2022 Posted 9 November, 2022 I noted when the penalty went in the total lack of celebration from JWP, no acknowledgement of the fans, fuck all. What a happy little ship the club is at the moment.

Is it really that puzzling, though? None of us see what goes on behind closed doors at training - perhaps Edozie has only shown glimpses, just as that's all we've seen in his appearances off the bench, and the management believed that wasn't enough to justify picking him from the start. Let's be honest, a few people got very excited by a handful of stepovers and a nutmeg in that cameo at Wolves and declared him the Second Coming of Christ. Those who are paid to make the decisions have to be a little bit more objective. Has there been any end product from him this evening, despite supposedly being our "brightest" player in a turd of a team performance so far? Certainly doesn't sound like it. He may well turn out to be brilliant, but the club can't win - play the kids and "we're taking too many risks with this lineup", don't play them and "why can't we throw the raw but promising nippers into the team". 7

You make a good point. I suppose I'm seeing the obvious attacking skills and talent in Edozie from his cameo appearances thus far, compared to game after game of limited, stale play from the likes of Elyounoussi. On that basis, and given our lack of goals and attacking threat, I would have hoped Edozie would have featured more - he just looks like a special talent to me; much more than a few stepovers and nutmegs.

Again, tonight has been an opportunity for him to demonstrate that he has the ability to do it now, when as you say we need an attacking threat. Has he done anything?

Hopefully that's resolved now, been much faster in the last hour or so after I tweaked a few things. 16
