On a side note, anyone know if the cricketers opens early for early kick offs? 11am or so? if not, anyone know of other pubs open around that time? cheers Given the state of us nearly every moment of playing 3/5 at the back this season, it is probably fair to say that formation was the greater risk 1

Kneejerk reactions -Lots of FFS, he's useless and Ralph out comments =Match thread. 3. Hindsight mastery phase - We got lucky, other team shit, Ralph still useless, we need to buy more players = Post Match Thread Most accurate view of this site I’ve ever read. Bravo! Saint_lambden Posted 26 August, 2022 Posted 26 August, 2022 No Martial for them but Casemiro fit to start.
OttawaSaint Posted 26 August, 2022 Posted 26 August, 2022 We're due a win vs Utd. Not beaten them since 2016 and not beaten them at home since 2003. If that statement doesn't have MLG stampeding towards his keyboard then nothing will... 2
Fan The Flames Posted 26 August, 2022 Posted 26 August, 2022 Do the four pass goal at kick and hold on. 3 points.
waterlooville saint Posted 26 August, 2022 Posted 26 August, 2022 I do hope we win this as a number of family members and work colleagues are Man Utd fans. Hopefully they'll turn up like they did against Brentford. I have very fond memories of the victories over them in the '90's at The Dell, especially the changed kit at half-time and the 6-3 victory. Fingers crossed it turns out like those days. 2
Miltonaggro Posted 26 August, 2022 Posted 26 August, 2022 Fancy us for 2-0 with this one (Ward-Prowse, Aribo). Always nice to upset Surrey's finest. 1
Charlie Wayman Posted 26 August, 2022 Posted 26 August, 2022 Two clubs at roughly the same stage of development this season with many new players and coaches. Home advantage to Saints, quality advantage to United. The newly minted Adams will be hard to stop so there will be goals in it for us but our defenders are still accident prone so goals in it for them as well. Looks for all the world like a 2-2.
LeBizzier69 Posted 26 August, 2022 Posted 26 August, 2022 A fast start by us, with a goal in the first 15-20 mins. All over them, should be 3-4 up by half time. 2nd half is the reverse, they score on around 55-60 mins and then bags the win on 87 mins. #Saintsy.

Convict Colony Posted 26 August, 2022 Posted 26 August, 2022 (edited) https://www.premierleague.com/news/2759513 Worth a read. Changing formation several times, Hasenhuttl's in-game decision-making was outstanding during the second halves of both matches. Since Hasenhuttl took charge in December 2018, only Leicester City of the "non-Big Six" clubs has benefited from more goals and assists from players who started on the bench. John Boy Saint Posted 26 August, 2022 Posted 26 August, 2022 Not seen it posted already - we have Andy Madley on the whistle for this one, never know which way the wind is blowing with him, and Antony Taylor sat in the Transit in the car park watching TV, with his mate and the wonky line crayons.

That would prob be the only change I would make, appreciating that Moi probably won’t offer much going forward (I also think he is pretty ineffective most of the time) but I think he is picked for the job he does defensively!

He is not only in form but integral to our build up play, other than that I wouldn’t be looking to change too much from Saturday —- ———Bazunu—————- KWP - ABK - Salisu - Djenepo ———--Lavia —- JWP——— —Aribo——————-S Armstrong ——-Che Adams—-Mara———- Potentially play Ely infront of Djenepo… I know he doesn’t add a lot offensively and he is a bit boring but what he does is offers an effective aid on the left side in front of a weak LB and until we have a LB that we can rely on defensively Edited 27 August, 2022 by saintant

goodymatt Posted 27 August, 2022 Posted 27 August, 2022 I worry that Casemiro is going to make them a much more solid team. Pleased no Martial and with all the Ronaldo rumours this could even be his last ever game for United. I want to see us go for it from the start and put them under pressure. Think we’ll score but ultimately lose this one, hope Saints prove me wrong! 1 hour ago, saintant said: Bazunu KWP ABK Salisu Perraud (if fit) Lavia JWP A Armstrong Aribo Djenepo Adams If Perraud is fit then I would pick this team but with Stu Armstrong instead of Adam.

Yeah, I was torn between the two Armstrongs. Adam has impressed me in the way we've used him this season. He's been involved in a big way both in terms of defence and offence and has had a hand in some of our goals. I just think his pace and tenacity offers a bit more than Stu at the moment. However, a fully firing Stu when on top of his game is hard to leave out - unfortunately we don't seem to see that from him these days so right now Adam is the better option for me. 2

Pamplemousse Posted 27 August, 2022 Posted 27 August, 2022 It'll be interesting to see who the impact subs will be this time. Adam Armstrong is more likely to have an effect late on so I'd start Stuart

Against Leicester it certainly seemed to be bring your best players (those who can impact the game) on after half-time. It does seem that this rule change has created a new dynamic and different thinking. 1

saintant Posted 27 August, 2022 Posted 27 August, 2022 Right, free kicks and corners get the big guys up and bombard their midget centre half! It worked for Brentford.
coalman Posted 27 August, 2022 Posted 27 August, 2022 That's not a terrible team. Though given the choice I'd swap Stu or Mara for Moi.
