Bournemouth pens about to be shown live on SSN

Bevan who came on for Bournemouth in 74th min is an Eastleigh boy.  Made his first team debut tonight.  He’s my step mothers grandson.  His brother won a commonwealth silver medal in boxing a couple of weeks ago too!

1451 Saints fans just acknowledged on the The Abby's PA.

What every one of them? That must have taken a while, fair play then showing that level of appreciation.

Good to see a solid win with the youngsters being given minutes. Sorry, the even younger youngsters to separate them from our new signings. 🙂

A pathway that has real talent, as opposed to having a slightly threadbare squad with youngsters filling up the bench.

Che getting more minutes and more goals ahead of United, keeps things ticking over nicely too.

Does that make him your step nephew?

Well we seemed to make slightly hard work in the first half but come through in the end.

Please for Che and his brace, and Ballard the well'ard for his single goal

Glad for paynie and Diamond as well.  Good to see us  blooding the youngsters.

Would like Bompey in the next to give them some sort of south coast rivalry, god bless'em, even if we don't see it that way.

Positives from tonight are Payne and Ballard for me. Always love seeing academy kids get a run out, one got an assist, one got a goal.

Couldn't have gone much better to be honest. A relatively easy and comfortable evening, nice bit of fitness for the squad players too.

Probably telling that Theo, Redmond and Stephens are nowhere near.

He’s kind of a likeable version of Osvaldo.

Really has me wondering what's going through Adam Armstrong's head tonight. Missing another good chance and then watches a 17 year old come on for last fifteen minutes, for a senior debut, and scores. Can't knock his effort, but certainly no way of glossing over the fact it just isn't working out for him.

From the little I saw he had a hand in two of the goals.

Comfortable win, could have scored a few more, good run out for a few players.

Cracking away day Cambridge, hope we get them in the FA Cup to have more chance to tick off some more of the pubs on the long walk from the station to the ground

Adama isnt playing a striker position anymore and has become an asset

That league cup tie at SMS the year they got promoted has to be the best night under the lights at St Mary’s ever. The place was rocking and the atmosphere was crackling. The tried drowning out the crowd by turning up the PA and totally failed - it’s was loud and toxic in the right way.

Bless him. What a difference in attitude compared to that wanker Hoedt.

Just got back, was a fairly comfortable game.

Positives were definitely Ballard and Payne, great to see Che get a couple more too.

Negatives were Diallo who I just don’t get, isn’t good enough, just got in the way at times, would much much rather we kept Romeu and managed to move him on.

Indeed. His great piece of play to set up Aribo for the first goal against Leeds was the catalyst for us getting a result. He definitely adds more value playing a bit wider. Whether hes happy with that role, who knows, but hes still a good option in my opinion. Offers more than Ely, Redmond and Walcott

Aye, playing wider, granted... But surely we want him to contribute more than he is, no? Justified his place in the starting XI at Spurs and Leicester...? Okay he played a good hand in the goal at home to Leeds... But nowhere near enough from him for me. Needed to make a statement tonight, and hasn't.

He assisted the assister for the first with a sideways pass out wide. I take it all back... He's unbelievable. His contribution to the second goal is an extremely tentative reach, though.

He was good tonight. played mostly wide on the left. It would be asking a lot for him to set up the goals and score them himself.

We had a nightmare journey back. Road closures and restrictions everywhere. The A101(M) and the M3 south of Winchester were both closed and there were lane restrictions round the M25. Signs said the M3 and parts of the M25 nearby were also closed. We finally got back to Chandlers Ford at five past one.

Sound. I've only seen the highlights as the player on official website wouldn't stream the radio, so I'm talking out of place here tbf. Just when seeing his name on the teamsheet, I wanted to see him bag at least a goal. He doesn't need to offer much out wide to be an improvement on what we've had, and based on his assist v Leeds there is that in his locker, but we need to be seeing a lot more of it far more often, in my humble opinion.

I work nights at Heathrow. You don't need to explain M3 road closures to me. The bain of my f****** life!

I know he didn't score, but I thought he played well, hopefully he can take the positives.

Just watched the highlights on Saint's official site. The reaction from the players for Ballard's goal was really great to see. They all came over to him to celebrate and Diamond Edwards was behind the goal where he went to celebrate too.

The change of role suits him, and  he's got the pace for a winger.  Sad that he hasn't scored much but we know he can

and he makes a valuable contribution to our attacks, but maybe we'll see some goals from him later on.

A change of position can sometimes benefit the team more than it does the player.

Djenepo was never likely to nail down the left wing spot, but as an attacking wing back he looks fantastic.
