ElTrinidad Posted 20 August, 2022 Posted 20 August, 2022 Saints not playing bad, just need to get their heads up and pick some simple passes when playing out from the back. Every time we win possesion back in our own half, within 2/3 passes the ball is back at a Leicester player's feet. If we can sort this out we'll be in with a decent chance of scoring some goals. Mara unlucky not to have a goal already, just didnt time his run correctly but could easily be 1-0. Dewsbury-Hall should be in the book for what the commentator lauded as a "Fantastic challenge" but he didnt get any of the ball. For all their possesion Leicester havent at all looked like scoring, but lets hope we dont fall asleep for 10 minutes after the break and start shipping goals. Definitely looks to be winnable, If we can get a goal things might start getting a bit restless ammongst the leicester supporters. 2 1
Midfield_General Posted 20 August, 2022 Posted 20 August, 2022 Defence looking better a) as a 4, and b) without Bednarek in it. A few wild early swipes aside, Djenepo doing just fine at LB. A Armstrong a weak link, again. Given the ball away so many times when the pass has been on. 0-0 at HT is decent though. Hopefully see Adams before too long in the second half and maybe then something will start sticking when we play it forward. 1
ally_uk Posted 20 August, 2022 Posted 20 August, 2022 For me look a bit powderpuff at retaining the ball in Midfield get Romeu on. Elynoussi does nothing should be sold....
Saint NL Posted 20 August, 2022 Posted 20 August, 2022 Did anyone see that graphic with the win percentages that's shown during half time? Apparently saints chances of winning didn't change during the whole first half 🤔

How Dewsbury Hall got away with that challenge I'll never know, you must have the same clueless co commentator as we have. 1

Yeah, that was ridiculous. Cleaned him out. It was easy to tell he hadn't got any of the ball as the ball continued in the direction of the run. Yellow all day long.
gammon cheeks Posted 20 August, 2022 Posted 20 August, 2022 Defending ok to be honest ....Need Che Adams on soon ..someone to drop a bit deeper and hold the ball up for others to link up . 1
Holmes_and_Watson Posted 20 August, 2022 Posted 20 August, 2022 I remember thinking Carney was dreadful when I happened to hear her. That seemed to be over quite a while. The one night, she must have been sick of doing cliches, and offered a really insightful tactical breakdown of one of the teams. So it's in there somewhere. 🙂
Saint_clark Posted 20 August, 2022 Posted 20 August, 2022 Are we deliberately given the ball back to them to try and win the ball again higher up the pitch? What's with the aimless punts forward? We have 4 players in midfield all good with the ball at their feet. 1
Saint Fan CaM Posted 20 August, 2022 Posted 20 August, 2022 Saints with 29% possession…I wonder where this will end up? In other news, I can’t get any stream to work on Saintsplayer…anyone else having a problem?
AlexLaw76 Posted 20 August, 2022 Posted 20 August, 2022 Aribo is now in a midifield 3 (which is pretty narrow), with Mo wide right We are hoofing the ball to Mara. Ralph out, ffs 2
Saint_clark Posted 20 August, 2022 Posted 20 August, 2022 (edited) What happened to the pressing? No-one is moving faster than a jog to close players down. Has Ralph just given up? Edited 20 August, 2022 by Saint_clark 1
Saint_clark Posted 20 August, 2022 Posted 20 August, 2022 Enjoyed the shot of that bird in the stands, no idea who she is I didn't get a good look at the face.
Jack Posted 20 August, 2022 Posted 20 August, 2022 How the f*ck does Moi get in this side ahead of Stu. Slow, reluctant, can’t pass, doesn’t press. I can’t work out if they’re under instruction not to press or just being lazy. Mara not running much either 1

Saint_clark Posted 20 August, 2022 Posted 20 August, 2022 Perfect example there of WTF is going on, KWP has the ball in the right back position with a player free down the line and instead just punts it long and out of play.

Arms and Moi ineffective. Get Che on, get it into him to bring others into play 1
SambaMaverick Posted 20 August, 2022 Posted 20 August, 2022 We all know he won't change it until we go behind
Saint_clark Posted 20 August, 2022 Posted 20 August, 2022 For all the talk of the fans getting behind the team the best we've looked this season is at 2-0 down to Leeds when the atmosphere was more toxic than I've seen it since Rupert Lowe was at the club.

Saint NL Posted 20 August, 2022 Posted 20 August, 2022 Fucks sake Why keep giving him chances with free kicks Come on Ralph, let's have those subs
trousers Posted 20 August, 2022 Posted 20 August, 2022 (edited) A McCarthy special there from Bazunu (Although, pin point free kick to be fair) Edited 20 August, 2022 by trousers
ElTrinidad Posted 20 August, 2022 Posted 20 August, 2022 F*ck me, Salisu loves giving away free kicks around the box doesnt he.
saintscottofthenortham Posted 20 August, 2022 Posted 20 August, 2022 Good to see Bazunu has been learning from McCarthy in training. 😏
igsey Posted 20 August, 2022 Posted 20 August, 2022 How did that get past the wall?? Poor wall building. 1
Dman Posted 20 August, 2022 Posted 20 August, 2022 He’s young, he’ll learn, but That simply has to be saved. 1
sydney_saint Posted 20 August, 2022 Posted 20 August, 2022 Poor from Bazanu. Still, we last 8 minutes into the second half. Technically moving in the right direction? 2

OttawaSaint Posted 20 August, 2022 Posted 20 August, 2022 That was a a very soft call for the free kick. Don't think he even touched Perez. 2
saintscottofthenortham Posted 20 August, 2022 Posted 20 August, 2022 At least Ralph can make a sub now we’re behind. Or do we always wait for two…? 1
Mr X Posted 20 August, 2022 Posted 20 August, 2022 FFS it was coming we just haven't got a grip on the game
Edmonton Saint Posted 20 August, 2022 Posted 20 August, 2022 Bazuna has to save that, and I know it’s not woke to criticize these days, but this female co-commentator is shocking. Seriously, shut up already. 1

Saint_clark Posted 20 August, 2022 Posted 20 August, 2022 Why is Aribo playing so deep ffs 😂🤦🏼♂️ scores a fantastic goal and looks dangerous in the box, let's get him sitting deep with the DMs.
StrangelyBrown Posted 20 August, 2022 Posted 20 August, 2022 (edited) And there is the danger of our approach today, expecting us to keep the ball out of the net with Madison, vardy and Barnes falling over every 2 minutes was always going to result in a dangerous set play. Now we have to have a plan b where we go up a few gears... Edited 20 August, 2022 by StrangelyBrown Typo 1
