Jimmy_D Posted 1 May, 2023 Posted 1 May, 2023 2-0 FT Sholing promoted! They’ve done well to come back and win the playoffs after leading the league for so long and falling just short in the end. Certainly gives me a team to use for the Dafuge challenge in Football Manager next season. 2

Tommy in nets was at Yeovil & then Saints before being released last year. They’ll be gutted, but can’t be as bad as last season. They lost on pens in the vase semi final, devastating for them as the final is at Wembley.

It’s still been a really good season for Hamworthy, obviously they’ll be gutted, but they got within a match of making it back to back promotions. They’ve certainly done better than they’d have expected at the start of the season.

Sholing were just too strong for them in the end, took control of the midfield and the 2 quick goals killed the game. Be interesting to see how they do next season up in the Southern Prem. Some teams in there with half decent budgets and bigger fanbases.
S-Clarke Posted 1 May, 2023 Posted 1 May, 2023 (edited) We're barley relevant at the best of times in the eyes of Sky and PL, but in the one season we are involved in relegation, so potentially a topic of discussion, we have been so pointless that we're not even included in the debates about it. We've made our relegation irrelevant to the media, that takes some going. Shows how truly bad these players have been for us, in a season where it's so tight we're not even in the debate with 5 games to go. They should be handing their wages back to the saints foundation. Only four games left. And we need to win all of them.

I much prefer nipping up there than Poole Town if I want to watch some local games. My lad was in the youth side a few years back and I’m hoping he’ll get back there. He’s playing in Wessex Div 1 at the moment so it’s not out of the question….. 1

Lord Duckhunter Posted 1 May, 2023 Posted 1 May, 2023 (edited) Fucking dopey bird saying Everton’s goal has dropped Forest into the relegation zone. No it fucking didn’t, whatever the result tonight will drop them in it. Unless the game is abandoned even a 0-0 drops them in. Edited 1 May, 2023 by Lord Duckhunter 1
AlexLaw76 Posted 1 May, 2023 Posted 1 May, 2023 Calvert-Lewin misses a sitter, then vardy hits the bar from the break
Bob76 Posted 1 May, 2023 Posted 1 May, 2023 So two teams fighting relegation that are trying to score and win a game, who would have thought you could do that🤔 2 1
The Cat Posted 1 May, 2023 Posted 1 May, 2023 All this attacking football is a bit much. Far better to pass it sideways and backwards. 1 2

whelk Posted 1 May, 2023 Posted 1 May, 2023 Is Keane trying to say no handball by saying it hit him on the arm?
Saintscummer Posted 1 May, 2023 Posted 1 May, 2023 Watching Leicester v Everton. How good it is to see two teams actually having a real go in a relegation battle. Hope Selles is watching
FarehamSaintJames Posted 1 May, 2023 Posted 1 May, 2023 Imagine Ruben Selles watching this game. He must be absolutely disgusted at what he’s seeing! 1
S-Clarke Posted 1 May, 2023 Posted 1 May, 2023 (edited) This has been a great watch, that half has had everything. Everton have been miles the better side in my opinion, but their defending has shot themselves in the foot. Can see why they're both down there, they are both levels above us quality wise though. Edited 1 May, 2023 by S-Clarke 1
capnordest Posted 1 May, 2023 Posted 1 May, 2023 maybe if Selles watches Leic-Everton he might learn something new and come up with a new plan 1 1

saint1977 Posted 1 May, 2023 Posted 1 May, 2023 (edited) Great game, really does reinforce that the SFC players really didn’t try a leg this season allied to a shit ‘playbook’ and three crap, scared managers. Everton look the better side but awful at the back, reminds me of some of the 2004/5 games this. Look at Maddison encouraging their fans to crank the noise up some more. Whilst our fans get kicked out of their most popular areas of the stadium and nothing to gee us up or inspire urgency on the pitch whatsoever. SFC is truly a dying club. beatlesaint Posted 1 May, 2023 Posted 1 May, 2023 Watching the way Leicester and Everton are giving it everything in this game whilst we play like sleep walking zombies. No comparison at all. 5
capnordest Posted 1 May, 2023 Posted 1 May, 2023 So it is possible for relegation threatened teams to fight for a win, who would have thought it! 1
Sunglasses Ron Posted 1 May, 2023 Posted 1 May, 2023 Just done some reading up on our old pal Janni V. Turns out he hasn’t played for Leicester for over a year and was recently banished to the reserves for slagging off Brendan Rogers before he got sacked. We proper mugged them off with him and Bertrand.

Lord Duckhunter Posted 1 May, 2023 Posted 1 May, 2023 If Baz was in nets for Leicester it would be about 2-6

Yeah, it's like Liverpool take our best players and then Leicester attempt to troll us in a different way, by taking our dross to see if they can do any better. Puel ❌ Vestergaard ❌ Bertrand ❌ Nope, nope and nope again. Says a lot that half of our recent defence (and Janny B) can't get anywhere near the matchday XI at other clubs. Just Jack Stephens doing the business for Bournemouth. Edited 1 May, 2023 by Ted Bates Statue 1
S-Clarke Posted 1 May, 2023 Posted 1 May, 2023 Great game that, enough quality in both sides for them both to be fine come the end. My feeling now, it keeps swinging most weeks, is that it'll be Forest and Leeds. 1
FarehamSaintJames Posted 1 May, 2023 Posted 1 May, 2023 I think Vestergaard was mentioned in the “defectors thread”. He called Rodgers out and talked about how they tried to ship him abroad on deadline day when his wife had recently given birth - so he refused and that’s when he got banished to train with the reserves permanently. 2

LGTL Posted 1 May, 2023 Posted 1 May, 2023 Both of these have too much quality to both go down IMO. One probably will, but Leeds are in deep trouble, especially when we roll over for Forest next week.

Looking at the fixtures it could easily come down to goal difference which could save Everton sadly Leeds and Forest to go down with our shitheads
Verwood Saint Posted 1 May, 2023 Posted 1 May, 2023 Imagine this has already been said but I really hope our squad has been watching this game and if not, they should be made to watch it tomorrow instead of whatever it is that they do for training!
Harry_SFC Posted 1 May, 2023 Posted 1 May, 2023 Looking at their fixtures, I think Leeds are stuffed.
