Players happy to carry the ball and players running off the ball to find space.

Nothing to do with the £440million spent on transfers in the last 5 years then.

But we spent massive this summer, enough to buy 0.95 Nicolas Pepes.

No, not really, we could still do those things, maybe not as well, but we just don’t.

I'd need to see one of our players having one, to see how much interest I had. 🙂

Supporting saints over the years, I have a pretty long list of most disappointing defeats. The 7 Everton scored, Gus Poyets first game for Brighton, hell even Bristol City stealing our championship home record.

But this season just feels like a piss take. Wolves are dog shit. Villa wanted to sack Steve, And Everton are rudderless.

Its hard to complain when you lose to City 4-0, but damn this season has been shit.

This is the important point. Granted we'll do things worse because our players aren't as good. However, they are all decent footballers and it should not be beyond the capability of man (Ralph) to coach them to play in a far more effective manner. They should all be drilled to pass and move, find space, play between the lines, look up and slide passes into dangerous areas, get the ball forward quicker, cut down the pointless sideways and backward passing, mark opponents etc etc. Yes, they will still make mistakes and won't be as technical as the top sides but for God's sake let's at least do the basics and bare minimum. For too long, apart from odd moments, we've looked like a bunch of strangers who've never taken part in a game of football but who've been put on a pitch with a ball and told to see what they can come up with. It is inexcusable to not even coach the basics.

It’s like possession, means absolutely fuck all of the ball doesn’t go in the oppositions net

Forest beating Villa, as it stands only out of the bottom 3 on goal difference

Gerrard must be very close to the chop, spent a fortune and made them worse.

Ashley Youngs scored a screamer to equalise.

Watching this with Ings on the bench makes me think that his transfer has gone badly for him and both clubs. I’m sure we’d all be happier if it hadn’t ever happened!

Still, that ships sailed so I’ll just enjoy Villa being terrible. Better than us, obviously, but genuinely terrible.

oh, and lol at Mings - gave away a pointless free kick then left his man to head home unmarked.

Terrible game of football. If we can't finish above those 2, we deserve to go down.

Very likely we will kick off against West Ham in the bottom 3. Forest away at wolves, a win for either they go above us a draw we will be level on points as wolves with the same goal difference.

I definitely think the overall quality of the Premier League has taken a big dip this season.

Best league in the world, every year it gets tougher etc. WALB. The top teams improve everyone else from about 8th down stays the same or gets worse.

Yep. As things stand, I can't see us getting out of it. Based on what we've seen so far, are there 3 teams that'd finish below is? Forest look poor, but anyone else?

Nor me, sadly I’ve not seen anyone worse than us and our current form over 20 odd games sees us finish the season with about 22 points, bottom of that happens.

Sadly I see it the same. I hope I'm wrong.

Forest were lucky to walk away from that with a point. They went into hiding after the goal (sound familiar?). They're the only team I've seen with as little sense of how to move the ball as a team as us.

How old is that Forest chief exec? Looks twenty something

Played way too much Football Manager. That explains his scattergun transfer policy. 😅

”This players available”
”But we’ve already got a LB”
”This one is better, we buy this one”
—-five days later—-
“I’ve found a left back, we must get him”

Is anybody bothering watching the CL? Meant to be where the riches are but get feeling not many bothered.  Well I don’t anyway.

I’d love to see Napoli win it, such a great style of football I’ve always liked them and it’s a brilliant area, although Roma are my Italian team due to Totti. I think they’ll end up burning out towards the end of the season and get done by one of the harder to beat teams that grind out results but hope I’m wrong.

Another goal fest tonight and now qualified with 2 games to go. 4-2 v Ajax return

Ross Wilsons finest hour Scott Arnfield has just put rangers in front v Liverpool

Ross is a nice guy tbf, used to see him a lot down the Silverlake back when I used to watch some s*** Eastleigh football. Though his finest hour was clearly Juanmi, not Arnfield

Forest have sacked their chief scout and chief transfer guru (or whatever his title was). 🤣

I wish we were like Nottingham Forest. Look at them playing 4D chess. We couldn't even afford to sack our chief scout for getting beaten by Stoke to signing Delap.

I agree unfortunately as its now a terrible run of form over a long period. I still don't understand some of the smugness on here where everyone seemed convinced we'd had an amazing 8/10 transfer window just because we'd spent some money.

I think long term it is a good window, getting rid of a load of squad players not really good enough for the team, and replacing with a load of higher value, promising youngsters.

With Gakpo it would have been an 8 or 9, but without a proper striker being brought in, it went from 8 to 5 very quickly. I was also expecting much more from AMN, and didn't think Romeu would be a huge miss as backup, especially as Lavia was fit at the time.  I've barely seen AMN play for a few years though, fingers crossed he'll come good. I'd have also kept Redmond personally which was the case at the end of the window.

It says a lot about the quality of our window when Redmond would clearly improve our current team. We needed to upgrade on him, but we didn't, and now we actually miss him. Christ.

Djenepo and Ely are dangerously close to our starting 11, which is another sign of how poor our window was for the short-medium term.

Theres a whole thread on a meltdown about our head of recuirtment leaving, yet there is also some people who think the window was that bad that Redmond would improve the squad.

i don’t think I’ve seen a fan base so split 😂
