I always though McCarthy and Forster were both as bad as each other however when one was lauded and could never do anything wrong and the other was deemed responsible for every single goal that he conceded even when NO keeper would have stopped it, I just found it absolutely bizarre.

Expand I concur with everything you’ve said. I initially liked McCarthy because in general, he could do the basics right and got a rougher ride with a poorer DF in front of him. Over time, that changed but he was 100% the lesser of the two evils. Forster is lacking in about every single department apart from having a massive frame. Which he doesn’t use because he wimps out of most things.
