Sheff Utd concede a goal straight from their own corner, must be a red and white thing. On a separate note, it was a good metre offside with no VAR.

Metre is pushing it. Cant believe Watford have held onto (for now) Pedro, Sarr and Dennis. Potent strike force in Championship

Close, but it didn't look too bad to me.

A lot of teams are going to get battered by this arsenal side methinks

Jesus and zinchenko two incredible signings that will really make them click going forward. Not just for the goals Jesus will bring, but the space he will create will mean more goals for Saka, Martinelli, Smith-Rowe and Odegaard.

Yup. Look a really good unit. Top 3

I really like Arsenal's recruitment over the past couple of windows. All they're lacking is a dominant central midfielder and depth up front.

And a decent, specialist right back, or one that they can trust. They have Cedric, Bellerin and Tomiyasu on the books - Tomiyasu is injured (and is more of a versatile CB), Cedric is crap and they want to get rid of Bellerin. Partay's future is still potentially uncertain so I agree on the CM and striker depth but overall Arsenal are probably heading in the right direction with the transfers they've made. I'm glad to see Saliba hasn't been sent back out on loan too, we were linked with him before he signed for Arsenal and I've been wanting to see what we missed out on.

Edouard was clinical as hell for Celtic. Not really clicked at Palace yet. Mind you even Moi looked good at Celtic so...

a lot more space, time and chances.

I know Saints fans aren't meant to like Zaha, but I've always loved watching him and he really is a top player. Palace look a decent outfit to me.

I think Palace will struggle this year. Just a hunch.

I'd be surprised. Zaha, Eze, Olise, Edouard, Mateta, Ayew - their attack is strong and their defence isn't bad. I think they lack a bit in midfield and they go a bit "gung ho" at times but I can't see them anywhere other than mid-table. This Arsenal team will do better than last season's Arsenal for sure and they don't even have Smith Rowe tonight.

It's been a good game. I'm quite looking forward to tomorrow now. :classic_ninja:

Bayern Munich don't seem to be missing Lewandowski too much if tonight is anything to go by, they won 6-1 at Frankfurt and were 5-0 up at half time. Mane scored.

Palace look decent. They'll be fine!

Not saying they’ll be in trouble as such but first game of the season, at home to a big but not fantastic team and a London rival, I’d expect them to look up for it. A 0-2 defeat is hardly a decent result, all things considered.

Palace's attack is very dangerous, lots of power and pace with Eze, Zaha, Matetta, Eduarud. My only gripe with them is that they don't seem too clinical. They create a lot of 'craziness' and they look fun, but they seem to lack that clinical striker. You could put that description over alot of teams though to be honest.

I didn't realise they'd got rid of Benteke, so I expect they'll be looking for a striker.

Don't get why people rate Mateta, always looked pretty bad to me, he has 16 league goals across his last 3 seasons. I think they have the same issue we have decent but not clinical strikers, Edouard appears to need a few chances to score goals at this level.

If they lose Zaha, who's in his final contract year, I could see them being in trouble, he was a large portion of their goals last year and causes so many issues that it creates space for others.

Last night I think showed the power of having a very good GK, probably a season or two Arsenal would have drawn that but Ramsdale made some big saves there.

Think they  said he'd signed for a MLS team literally hours before kick off

Can rule out Fulham from relegation. Look far too good to go down

And they've got Mitrović: one of the best old-fashioned centre forwards in the game. He's 27 and at his peak now.
